By Request, ‘A Wonderful Savior’

Requested by SlimJim (and I hope this is the hymn he wanted: titles can get tricky sometimes), a classic hymn by Fanny Crosby, A Wonderful Savior, sung by the Harding University Concert Choir. We also know this one as He Hideth My Soul.

‘Panis Angelicus’

Your Favorite Hymns continues with Panis Angelicus (Angels’ Bread), sung in Latin by Andrea Bocelli.

Please feel free to add any of your favorite hymns to the list.

‘Faith of Our Fathers’

Your Favorite Hymns continues with Faith of Our Fathers, sung by students from Fountainview Academy on their European tour.

If you’d like to see any of your favorite hymns posted here, just leave a reply anywhere and we’ll add them to the list.

‘O Sacrament Most Holy’

I wish I knew who it was, singing this beautiful hymn, but that information is not given. O Sacrament Most Holy, in sweet harmony…

Your Favorite Hymns continues. Please feel free to add to the list.

‘O God, Our Help in Ages Past’

To continue with your favorite hymns–

Isaac Watts’ hymns from the 18th century are still much loved today. By request: O God, Our Help in Ages Past, sung by the Sharon Mennonite Bible Institute Singers. Background sets by God the Father.

‘In the Garden’ (Your Favorite Hymns)

Tell us your favorite hymns, and we’ll put them on the list and post them.

We continue with In the Garden, sung by Alan Jackson.

‘Holy God, We Praise Thy Name’

They play this hymn on the bells of St. Francis, across the street from me, and finally I know what it’s called–Holy God We Praise Thy Name. I don’t know who the singers are, so I’m not able to give them the credit they deserve.

We try to post your favorite hymns every day. Please feel free to add to the list.

‘There Is a Fountain’

We’re playing your favorite hymns at the start of each day. Today it’s There Is a Fountain, by Selah.

Just tell us your favorite hymns and we’ll add them to the list. You don’t have to name just one!

By Request, ‘I’d Rather Have Jesus’

If you read the preceding post, you know that this hymn wound up getting requested twice: I’d Rather Have Jesus. I chose this treatment by Lindsay, of “Her Heart Sings,” out of many available.

I’ll continue to post Your Favorite Hymns until I come to the end of the list. But there’s no reason why that would ever have to happen, because the list is always open.

Your Favorite Hymns, Continued

Last night I loaded a hymn for this morning. Just now, before I posted it, I read the comments. And there was a reader, SlimJim, requesting the very hymn that was already scheduled for today.

Now how does that happen? I mean, there are thousands and thousands of hymns he could have asked for: how did he pick the one hymn that was already scheduled?

This is not the first time this has happened. And I’ll bet it won’t be the last.
