Well, they solved that problem, didn’t they? No more woods! No more village, either. Ain’t progress grand?

How I Got Lost in the Woods

Sometimes we get lost in a different kind of wilderness, as Dante did. Sometimes the whole danged country gets lost and cannot find its way.

We are living in just such a time. Boy, are we ever.

The Loving Left: She Mocks Aborted Babies

Goya saw this coming, and painted it…

Leftid comic genius Sarah Silverman wowed ’em on TV a few nights ago by saying, “If anything has ever made me want to eat an aborted fetus, it’s this law” (https://ijr.com/the-declaration/2018/02/1061687-sarah-silverman-goes-off-deep-end-says-new-pro-life-law-makes-her-want-to-eat-aborted-fetus/), referring to a 2012 law that bans the use of aborted baby parts as food or drink ingredients.

You don’t have to be Dante (or Goya) to be able to imagine what she’ll be doing in the afterlife.

The, uh, comic also took aim at another law requiring cremation of aborted babies, instead of just chucking them in a bin. Revel in her sage commentary: “F___ing funerals for f___ing aborted fetuses?” She went on to mock the size and undeveloped intellectual capabilities of a fetus. The pot calling the kettle black.

She wrapped it up with this: “Religious freedom used to be such a beautiful thing… and now it’s just this shroud to legalize hate and s___ like that.” Didn’t Spinoza say that once?

Isn’t it just wonderful, the way entertainment (cough, cough!) celebrities know all there is to know about everything? Such fine and delicate sentiment! Such crisp and scintillating wit!

Well, I keep telling you there’s no one as anti-human as a humanist. And leftids are the biggest hate merchants around.

Pope Slams ‘Evil Populism’

Okay, so now the Red Pope has declared, “Populism is evil” ( http://www.breitbart.com/london/2017/03/09/pope-slams-rise-evil-populism-western-democracies/ ). I guess that means he’s mad at those of us who don’t cotton to his cherished schemes for world government, and using mass immigration to make nation-states non-functional–so they can all be scrapped in favor of one big gigantic government in charge of everything.

He must have read his Dante. Dante was big on having just one church, run by the Pope, and one Empire, run by the Holy Roman Emperor.

The Red Pope made his remarks in an interview given to a German newspaper. Germany seems to be first on the list to be wiped out as a country. “Populism” is bad because people are bad for trying to preserve their countries.

Is this guy going to leave any stone unturned in his quest for a world state? Not if he can help it.

To the extent that populism opposes and sometimes even thwarts the plans of world statists, populism is good.

There is only one ruler whose right it is to rule the world, and that Person is Jesus Christ the Son of God, King of Kings and Lord of Lords.

You’d think a pope would know that.

A Culture-Killing Priest

A priest in Padua, Italy, is likely to be stripped of his priesthood because of incredibly lewd behavior–including “organizing orgies on church property” and visits to “a naturist swingers’ resort,” along with a few other activities which I prefer not to repeat ( http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/europe/italian-priest-catholic-church-don-andrea-contin-accused-of-carrying-vibrators-sex-toys-masks-a7564096.html ).

Police have established his guilt beyond a doubt–in fact, he has confessed (and I don’t mean in a confessional booth)–and the Church does seem resolved to kick him out, which of course it should.

There have always been corrupt and wicked clergymen–read Dante, if you don’t believe me. If I knew how to set up a church wherein corruption would not be possible, I’d lay it out for all the world to see. But I do think that for any institution containing human beings, including a church, the bigger, the richer, and the more powerful the institution, the greater the corruption.

These are the people who, some centuries ago, wouldn’t let us have the Bible and persecuted, and killed, those who sought to make God’s word accessible to us. Our freedom to consult the Bible whenever we please was not won without the shedding of much blood.

We don’t do away with the church. Certainly there’s nothing in the Bible that tells us to do that! But we don’t set aside God’s word. Not for anybody.
