Sanity Break: They Fought Sleep, and Sleep Won

All these animals–cats and dogs, kittens and puppies, a bear cub, a duckling, a bunny, and even a mongoose–have one thing in common: they just can’t stay awake for another minute. Don’t you know that feeling? Like when you’re reading in bed and you begin to suspect that you’ve read the same paragraph at least three times…

Video Treat: Baby Goats

You farm folks have seen all this before, but out here in leaf-blower country, baby goats are only a little less rare than centaurs. Anyway, these are cute.

You should’ve seen how Robbie the cat reacted when I played this. Something about a bunch of baby goats baa-ing really wound her up.

Video Treat: Animals and iPads

Cats, dogs, monkeys, a cockatiel–even a lizard, and even a frog–all get their jollies here, playing with their humans’ iPads. Actually, I think that poor lizard has been imposed upon; I hope his daddy or mommy gave him a nice treat, after his strenuous efforts on the iPad.

Yes, we’ve come a long way since my iguana used to try to eat the pictures of strawberries or tomatoes on the bottom of his dish.

Sanity Break: Animals Playing Together

They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain: for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the Lord, as the waters cover the sea.       –Isaiah 11:9

Every now and then the Lord gives us glimpses of what it will be like when He regenerates His whole creation, and casts out sin and death forever.

This is one of those glimpses. Love it.

Priceless! Pets vs. Toys

If some of these don’t make you laugh, better see if you can still fog a mirror!

I especially like the young iguana who really, truly, deeply doesn’t take to the stuffed toy iguana. The cat here is an innocent bystander.

Video Treat: Animals Making Funny Noises

Y’know, you’d almost swear that some of these dogs and cats are talking–not necessarily in English.

Anyhow, you’re sure to get a few chuckles out of this.

Sanity Break: Cats and Parrots

The title of this video is Funny Parrots  Annoying Cats. The mystery here is why the cats allow the parrots to annoy them. Somehow these birds know that these cats won’t really hurt them, even if they peck at the tail or steal the cat’s food. I know parrots are awfully smart, but how did they ever figure out how far you can push a cat and get away with it?

Wild and Crazy Little Guys: Jerboas

Here’s what happens when you leave jerboas unsupervised. Although probably it happens when they’re supervised, too.

Jerboas are long-legged jumping mice that live in the deserts of Africa and Asia. We have kangaroo rats in our deserts. What is the connection between the desert lifestyle and jumping?

Beats me.
