‘It’s Not Saturday’ (2020)

Uncle Shinbone, the last time he got lost

G’day! Byron the Quokka here, with what’s left of Lee and Pat’s sanity. I think I’ve got most of it mopped up here–computer prombles, as usual.

It takes me back to a similar episode in “Getting Your Brain Fried By Technology”:

It’s Not Saturday

Anyhow, we’ve got the blinkin’ machines working properly again, and we’re only two hours behind schedule.

Think about this the next time some bedbug suggests slipping computer chips into our brains. Or into your car.

Just Try to Stay Awake

I found this video very soothing. I wonder if it’ll put any readers to sleep.

See, the poor cat wants to watch bird videos; but he’s so comfy in his human’s lap, he just can’t stay focused. Don’t you know the feeling… [clonk!]

The Intruding Human

Avast! Some bobblehead out there keeps putting this clickety-clackety plastic toy in Bunny’s bed. I don’t know rabbits well; but I have known cats who would bite you for that. This bunny looks like he might be overly tolerant.

It’s Not Easy, Being a Dog

No, it isn’t easy at all. You dig a nice hole in the sand, and some joker keeps pushing water at it. Whoever it is has no respect for your engineering efforts. “Come on out where I can bite you!”

Is There a Raccoon in the House?

Cute video aside, I don’t think everyone’s cut out to have a pet raccoon. It would seem you’d have to tolerate a fair degree of chaos, and not mind having to clean up a mess you’d already cleaned up half an hour ago. Other than that…

These Cats Are Crazy

Well, at least they don’t have claustrophobia.

But why do cats do this–squeeze themselves into fishbowls, vases, undersized boxes, glasses…? And how do they do it? Rubber skeletons?

A Nobel Prize is waiting for whoever can answer those questions.

Is There a Bunny in the House?

Once upon a time we had baby bunnies in our garden. They loved to come out and play at night; and if I stood still for them, they’d chase each other all around me.

Well, here are some bunnies chasing each other around the house. Looks like fun–although I doubt our cat would like it.

Puppies Discover Snow

I wish I could remember the first time I played in the snow. Did I enjoy it? My earliest snow memory is of my mother making a miniature snowman and putting it in the refrigerator.

I don’t think any of these dogs would try that.

Cat Acrobats in Training

Our cat Buster used to bounce himself off the wall like a champion. He could’ve turned pro! You wouldn’t believe how high he could jump.

These two kittens have a long way to go (Buster started early)–but they do show promise, don’t they?

Where’s Your Cat?

So where’s your cat? Missing? Don’t panic. Check your bookcases, laundry baskets, shopping bags, and any other potential hiding place that seems extremely unlikely. They’d get themselves into jars of baby food, if they could. And screw down the lids.
