By Request, ‘Joy to the World’

There are so many renditions of this hymn available, I don’t know which to choose! Well, let’s try this one–by an unnamed “traditional choir.”

Requested by SlimJim, Joy to the World–written in 1719 by Isaac Watts and still going very strong indeed today.

By Request, ‘Joy to the World’

I hope these Christmas hymns stir your soul as they stir mine. Christmas is beautiful–the Word of God come down to us from Heaven as a baby in a manger! God with us!

Requested by Phoebe, written by Isaac Watts, performed by “a traditional choir”–Joy to the World.

I’ll be back with more carols, and Byron’s TV listings, in a little while.

‘Joy to the World’

Yes, I know, I know it’s not Christmas yet. But there was this Fountainview Academy video of Joy to the World sitting there and saying, “Post me, come on, post me!” So I did.

This is a gorgeous production, and I’m not ashamed to say it brought a tear of joy to my eye.

Welcome aboard, Rosy Marr, entering our Second Annual Christmas Carol Contest with this–Joy to the World, by the Wissmann Family. I do enjoy the sound of this! Who said you can’t do classical music with a banjo.

Remember–the contest winner will get an autographed copy of one of my books (your choice). Sorry, no bicycles.

By Request, ‘Joy to the World’

Requested by Erlene, Joy to the World–and I can’t do better than Nat King Cole, can I?

Our Second Annual Christmas Carol Contest has begun; and don’t worry if the carol you want to request has already been posted. And don’t worry about us running out of carols!

Sing for Christmas!

By Request, ‘Joy to the World’

Christmas in July? Well, I don’t turn down hymn requests. Requested by Joshua, Joy to the World, performed by Jannik and David Doring, on pan-flute and guitar.

I admit I’m partial to Christmas music all year round.

By Request, ‘Joy to the World’ (in April!)

This was a mighty good idea that Joshua had–to post Joy to the World… because we need it now, we need reminding that the Lord our Savior has come, has been here, has purchased our salvation– We celebrate His birth at Christmas, but Jesus Christ is Lord over all the days of the year, our shepherd and our king forever.

Sung by Fernando Ortega.

And Here’s Our Winner!

G’day, boys ‘n’ girls, and stand up and cheer the winner of our Second Annual Christmas Carol Contest!

Our winner is…. Lydia! She posted this rendition of Joy to the World on Dec. 9, and that day it got 44 views. We still don’t know the name of the children’s choir that’s singing it, but whoever they are, it’s lovely.

Lydia, you have won an autographed copy of Bell Mountain No 12, His Mercy Endureth Forever. It hasn’t been published yet, but it will be soon.

All of us together raised a joyful noise unto the Lord, this Christmas season. And if there are still some Christmas hymns you’d like to hear, all you’ve gotta do is ask for them.

This is Byron the Quokka looking forward to the next contest… See the source image

(Sorry, didn’t mean for the picture to turn out anywhere near that big!)

By Request, ‘Joy to the World’ (Fountainview)

Lydia asked for this a couple days ago, but I got my signals crossed–so it’s late. Joy to the World, performed, in a most creative setting, by the students at Fountainview Academy.

By Request, ‘Joy to the World’

Requested by Lydia, Joy to the World–sung by a children’s choir somewhere: I don’t know who they are, but they make a lovely sound.

Thing is, we need these carols, and we need Christmas! May God the Father bless this Christmas season of 2019, and give it power to work in every day of 2020.
