Video Treat: Kitty Gourmet

So who says it has to be cat food all the time? Watch this little guy chow down on corn on the cob, and note the bib which some human being has thoughtfully provided. I’m jealous! Gotta have some of that corn on the cob this weekend, “before you dot another ‘i’, Bob Cratchit!”

(Thanks to our friend Carol for sending this to us.)

Sanity Break: Baby Loves Cat

If this is not the jolliest and cutest baby that I ever saw… well, he looks like he’s off to a very good start in life.

It’s just too bad that this particular cat isn’t quite on board with the program. We know from other videos that there are a lot of cats out there who love babies as much as this baby loves this cat.

The tares are thick and tall, but the good seed is growing, too.

Sanity Break: Cat and Monkey at Play

See if you can figure out the rules of this game, devised by a cat and a monkey. The monkey is determined to drive the cat crazy, while the cat is equally determined to sit on the same spot no matter what. I have heard of human beings driven crazy by monkeys, but cats are made of sterner stuff. Anyway, it’d  be hard to find anyone more playful than this little monkey.

Be at Peace: Pets Cuddling Babies

Enough of the hurly-burly for today. Anybody up for some nice cats and dogs and babies?

This has to be just wonderful for a child’s development, to be loved and cuddled by a cat or a dog. Looks like it’s rather pleasant for the pets, too.

Some Cat Stuff (Why Not?)

Note the cat unable to navigate the glass roof of the greenhouse. Here geckos have an advantage.

Note also the cat who won’t let you touch his belly. I’ve never had that with any of my cats: they’ve all loved to have their bellies rubbed and petted.

Don’t touch the tip of Robbie’s right hind foot, though. It’s unbearably ticklish.

Video Treat: Cozy Mouse

I have had many pet mice, and I tell you, they make fantastic pets. And when you think about it, what must you look like to a mouse? Who can imagine it?

Pet mice will indeed be affectionate toward you, and the longer I had my mice, the more astounded I was by their intelligence and adaptability. A mouse is long-lived if he makes it to his second birthday. If they lived longer, they’d be reading, writing, and telling us what to do. They can learn all sorts of things very quickly.

I once had a mommy mouse who used to groom my mustache. She was a methodical little soul. She had nine babies and divided them into groups of three so she could nurse them more efficiently. I’ve known middle school kids who couldn’t have figured that out.

But of course you pay a price for any pet that’s only going to be with you for a short time. You’d better believe you can learn to love a mouse.

Our Father made us that way.

Video Treat: Baby Animals Sound Off

I realize these baby animal videos hurt my tough guy image, but I don’t care. I cover the news, reporting on only a tiny fraction of what I read each day. I don’t know about you, but after all that, baby animals are good for me.

As if I needed an excuse…

Video Treat: Cats Craving Affection

It’s just too cool, what God has done–created living things that can love one another.

Of all the thousands of false gods and idols we humans have invented over the millenia, of not one of them–of no, not one–was it ever written, “God is love.”

Our God is an awesome God!

Video Treat: Goofy Dogs & Cats

There’s something about a pug dog trying to act ferocious that just cries out not to be taken seriously.

But when cats are mad at each other, they make some sounds that it’s hard not to take seriously.

Video Treat: Death-Defying Cats

Well, now I think I know why they call cat burglars cat burglars.

But please do not try to imitate these cats. They are crazy.
