Cats in Dog-Beds

Domestication gave cats the opportunity to persecute dogs. The best way to do this is to occupy the bed and then make like you can’t see or hear the dog’s frustrated objections. It drives them crazy.

Laundry Can Be Fun

Here’s a puppy who knows what laundry’s for–chewing on it and trying to yank it out of the basket. I’m not quite sure what kind of garment he’s gotten hold of. What would you chew on, if you were a dog?

The Bunny Room

What beautiful interiors! And nobody there but these two bunnies. Only at the end of the video do we find a human servant putting down a bowl of food on the spotless, immaculate rug. I had no idea that bunnies lived like this.

Sleepy Kittens

Rough, nasty weather today: I wish I could cuddle up with these kittens.

How do they stay asleep when other kittens step on their faces? They sleep so soundly! They must have very clear consciences.

Let Sleeping Ducks Lie

Why does this little duckling try to hard to stay awake? There’s a conversation in the background: maybe it’s about him. I couldn’t tell. I think it would’ve put me to sleep no matter how hard I tried to stay awake.

Don’t Go Near the Water

Cats will insist on investigating the bathtub; and they’re always freaked out when they slip and fall in. I’ve never had to give any of my cats a bath. My sister had to give my iguana a bath, but he was a good sport about it.

She’s Up a Tree!

The kitten climbed up a tree and couldn’t climb down–stuck! Mommy cat hears her cries for help and climbs up there to bring her baby down. Only it’s not so easy, is it?

Stay tuned to see what happens next.

Tiny Kitten Defies Big Scary Dog

Dog wants his bed; cat already has it. Can he scare the kitten away? No, not this cat: this wee kitten is not about to be buffaloed (if you’ll forgive the mixed metaphor). Stay tuned to see if they can come to a meeting of the minds.

Follow the Bouncing Fox

Foxes enjoy benefits of human civilization without getting sucked into it. See? They know exactly what a trampoline is for. But you won’t catch a fox going into debt to buy one.

Cat Adopts Baby Squirrels

(From somewhere in the Crimea)  This cat already has a kitten, but that didn’t stop her from adopting some baby squirrels. Domestication brings out some amazing behavior in animals: so much for cats as arch-predators. It’d be nice of humans could be domesticated, too.
