Adeste Fideles’ (in the Summertime)

In case I’m not here for Christmas, let me bring in Luciano Pavarotti now.

This video’s from 1978: Adeste Fideles (O Come All Ye Faithful), sung at Notre Dame in Canada.

‘We Three Kings’ (in July)

We’re gonna roast again today; and just in case I can’t finish the journey, I’m posting one of my favorite Christmas videos–Hugh Jackman, David Hobson, and Peter Cousen performing We Three Kings.

Christmas songs don’t have to be stark and solemn!

‘Angels We Have Heard on High’

Yes, I know it’s a Christmas song. I’m posting it now in case I don’t make it to Christmas.

Angels We Have Heard on High, performed by For King & Country–and they’re not holding anything back.

Give me Christmas any time of the year.

‘My Love’s an Arbutus’

Yes, I know, it’s usually Christmas-time when I post this–My Love’s an Arbutus, sung by the Fairhaven Singers. I won’t try to get you to believe it’s a hymn. But I find it reminds me that a loving God is Lord of all creation.

‘We Three Kings’

(What’s with the Christmas music?)

(Shh! He’s posting it in case they drag him back into the hospital at Christmas-time.)

This is as lively a Christmas carol as you’re going to get: We Three Kings, sung by Hugh Jackman, David Hobson, and Peter Cousen.

‘Angels from the Realms of Glory’

Yes, I know it isn’t Christmas-time. I want to get some Christmas hymns posted before I get shoved back into the hospital. Besides… when is it a bad time for Angels from the Realms of Glory?

‘Good Christian Men, Rejoice’

What’s this–a Christmas carol in June?

Well, that’s exactly what it is, and I’ve posted it because I need it… and maybe that goes for a lot of us.

You don’t have to wait for Christmas-time to celebrate Christmas. The Dominican friars, with Good Christian Men Rejoice.

‘I Saw Three Ships Come Sailing’

Am I early for Christmas, or late? But that doesn’t matter, does it?

Three hours of scanning the day’s nooze, and I’m worn out. What a load of crap. I suppose I should be deliriously happy, watching the Democrat Party self-destruct; but it’s a sorry sight, no dancing in the streets.

This hymn came into my mind about an hour ago, and doesn’t want to leave.

“Christ is born” is still The News. We have every reason to rejoice in that.

‘On This Day Earth Shall Ring’ (‘Personent Hodie’)

(Waddaya mean, posting a Christmas hymn on the second day of March?)

Two reasons. First, this was the first hymn that popped into my head today. And second: I almost totally missed this past Christmas, and I wasn’t all that far from dying. Certainly I had no strength to do up a Christmas tree.

I hope and pray we’ll all be well by the time Christmas rolls around again.

I’d hate to miss another one.

‘Ding-Dong Merrily On High’

I was way too weak and sick to do anything much for Christmas–although (thank God for this!) it really felt like Christmas.

I felt a need for a carol today, and this was the first that came along: Ding-Dong Merrily on High, sung by the King’s College Church Choir.

Who doesn’t need a nip of Christmas now and then?
