Back to Work!

Just in case the world doesn’t end anytime soon, I’ve got to get back to work today.

Update: Bell Mountain No. 12, His Mercy Endureth Forever, is about ready to be published–any day, now. (Note to Watchman: I haven’t forgotten! I’ll send you your copy of the book as soon as I get mine.) Editing has begun on No. 13, The Wind from Heaven. And as for No. 14–well, it isn’t written yet, I don’t have a title… but the Lord has provided me with an insight that I think will drive the book, once I start writing it.

Meanwhile, I’ve got to write this week’s Newswithviews column. Note to WhiteRabbit: I’ve decided to follow your suggestion. Patty thought it was a great idea.

And here’s an idea that just hit me–completely unrelated to anything else that’s going on here: True friendship is doing something you don’t like for someone whom you like.

I was going to cover the Democrat debate today, but never mind. I can’t think of anyone who really wants me to.

‘Dracula’ Comments on the Dems’ Debate

Among other highlights of last night’s Democrat food fight, Joe Biden claimed 150 million people in the U.S. have been killed by gun violence since 2007… apparently forgetting who was in office for eight of those 13 years. Nor did he offer any suggestion as to who might have wiped out half our country’s population.

As a comment on the debate as a whole, I cannot improve on this little clip from Dracula, filmed in 1931. The action takes place, appropriately, at a lunatic asylum…

Dems Love… Communism?

They booed God at their national convention.

And last night they booed one of their candidates for saying communism “doesn’t work” (ya think?).

Here’s what former NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg actually said: “We’re not going to throw out capitalism. We tried that, other countries tried that. It was called communism, and it just doesn’t work.”

Moans and boos! Boo, capitalism! That was the audience.

What do they actually want? “Democratic socialism”? But what is that? A Soviet Union with Democrats in charge, probably. They want free stuff. It isn’t really free, someone has to pay for it, but they don’t know and they don’t care. It’s really an immoral mind-set. And it doesn’t create wealth, but destroys it. The Soviet Union collapsed, and Red China, while keeping the communist label, turned to fascism. Even fascism works better than communism.

As someone who grew up in the 1950s and 60s, it’s just about inconceivable to me that any political party, except the Communist Party itself, would ever consent to serve as a haven for communists.

Chalk that change up to public education.

That’s who’s responsible for Americans defending communism.
