Is This Cat Brave… or Crazy?

The keeper at the Staten Island Zoo reptile house told me that their alligators were quite tame, and that when it was time to move them outdoors in the summer, attendants just teamed up and toted them out by hand. But I’m sure there are any number of readers in Florida who aren’t buying the peaceful friendly gator thing.

Watch this cat square off against an alligator: and there are a couple of much bigger gators backing up the smaller one. We ain’t at the reptile house now, ol’ hoss!

Prankful Pets

Maybe we shouldn’t play tricks on our cats and dogs (although some of them do seem to enjoy it). But check out some of the tricks they play on each other. Who says animals don’t have a sense of humor?

As for the puppy chasing his leash round and round and round the tree–heck, we had a governor who used to do that.

Birds with Attitude

I’m sure some of you are wondering about that long-legged bird that was stomping the rubber snake. Well, that’s a secretary bird; and in the wild, that’s what they do. Stomp snakes. And then eat them. Somehow they don’t get bitten. Their natural habitat is the grasslands of Africa.

I enjoyed the dancing cockatoo who couldn’t get his partner to dance with him.

‘Fore!’ for a Fox

They forgot to put up a “Humans Only” sign; so here’s a fox who’s learned that he can have a lot of fun on a golf course.

Question! If the fox should drop or roll your ball into the hole… how do you score that?

Wait’ll they discover bowling alleys.

An Honorary Chicken

This cat won’t leave the chicken-yard. Oops–baby chicks have bonded to her, they fellow her everywhere. Roosters fighting? She’ll put a stop to that. Strange cat invades the yard? Bad move!

They can’t even lure her out with a can of cat food. Then again, would you ever be lured anywhere with a can of cat food?

Snow Kittens

I know–some of you have had it up to here with snow. But you’ll grant me that kittens are allowed to revel in it, and it’s certainly fun to watch them doing it.

Fun False Fact: Several cats in the town of Queens Difficulty, Pennsylvania, have learned how to make snow men.

Kittens in Paper Bag Wonderland

The woman who made this video must really love her kittens (well, that’s what they’re for, isn’t it?)–that, or she’s one of the world’s worst housekeepers. Such an abundance of paper bags! Cats are sure humans don’t know what they’re missing…

The Dog & Parakeet Show

There are humans stationed nearby to prevent mayhem. But really, how hard would it be for the dog to chomp down on the parakeet before anyone could prevent it? And why does the parakeet appear to be completely unconcerned for anything like that to happen?

Have hours of fun trying to get inside animals’ heads and understand their interactions. So much more complicated than you’d think!

More Funny Bunnies

Little white bunny chasing big black cat–is that the way it’s supposed to work?

But oh–! Baby bunnies! So cute, they leave you speechless. See? Look how clumsily I’m saying this!

Urgent! Historical Note!

Image result for images of circular firing squad

Research by Ms. Violet Crepuscular reveals that Lord Jeremy Coldsore’s great-great-grandnephew, once removed, is now permanently removed.

In fact, this descendant of the Scurveyshire nobility, Mr. Genghis MacShoy, was the last person in Britain executed by a circular firing squad, in 1957–having been found guilty of posing as the Prince of Wales and trying to sell off royal property.

As usual, several members of the firing squad were seriously wounded. This led to the abolition of this particular means of execution.

“That never used to happen when they did it with crossbows,” mused the deer queen.
