The Way They See It (Saints Preserve Us)

Donald Trump could be new Margaret Thatcher says Gingrich | Daily ...

We watch a lot of British comedies, mostly from the 1980s and 90s. And I can’t name a Britcom that didn’t take pot shots at Margaret Thatcher. She was prime minister for 21 years, 1979-90: but to hear the TV writers tell it, no one voted for her, no one liked her, no one had any respect for her–

Wait a minute!

Today in America, to hear our media tell it, no one voted for Donald Trump except for a tiny handful of white supremacists, no one likes him, no one has any respect for him, he’s universally despised and loathed…

Do they really believe that?

Maybe liberals have gotten so accustomed to winning by force that they’ve forgotten how to argue or persuade. Your newsroom has an editor who’s a Republican? Fire him! There’s a conservative in your faculty lounge? Just chase him out!

One night on the phone, some years ago, I was telling a liberal about a certain sex education textbook. He insisted the book did not exist. “But I have it right here on the table, in front of me,” I said. But it didn’t budge him.

As Joe Biden said, “We choose truth over facts!” That’s for sure. They ought to save it to put on his tombstone.

I wonder now: Are there a lot of details in a liberal’s mental landscape that simply aren’t there in real life? That would explain both their ideology and their behavior. Really–how could you possibly swallow the Green New Deal unless you were delusional?

Yeahbut, yeahbut, yeahbut! What about all that stuff we learned in college???

The prosecution rests, your honor.

Some Hard Facts

Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher

There are things that a lot of people don’t know, that they ought to know. Ignorance may be bliss, but its fees can be quite high.

Government has no money of its own. It only has what it can extract from the people by fees and taxes. As Margaret Thatcher famously said, the problem with socialism is that you run out of other people’s money. And just printing more of it doesn’t solve that problem, but only makes it worse by cheapening the currency.

The United States is, by law, a republic, not a “democracy.” In fact, the problem isn’t not enough people voting, but too many people voting. One is tempted to raise the voting age to 50. Adopting new public policies in hopes of making America “more democratic” only leads to policies derived from ignorance.

Fomenting racial discord, as a means of acquiring and keeping a political advantage, in the long run hurts everybody. Trust me: this is not how you build a stronger and more stable country. But it does seem to be a good way of opening the door for tyranny.

There is no such thing as “transgender.” There is male and female, nothing else. Making like there are several dozen “genders” can only lead to laws and policies based on a denial of reality. It has to stop.

It is not possible for any government to control everything that people do, or don’t do. If morality and conscience are not in play, the government will fail. Trying to manage everything is a good way to wind up managing nothing.

Just try getting any Democrat to admit to even one of these.

You Can’t Say ‘Radical Islam’ Anymore?

Nope, no radical Islam here…

Well, no, you can’t–not if you live in London: for the mayor of that once-great city has outlawed the use of the term, “radical Islam” ( http://www.infowars.com/london-mayor-to-outlaw-use-of-radical-islam/ ).

This scepter’d isle, this seat of kings, joins the rest of Europe’s surrender monkeys in prostrating themselves before Islam.

Silly bugger: the term “radical Islam” was invented to draw a distinction between ordinary peaceful people who happen to be Muslims, and the flashier “Death to the Infidels!” variety. Apparently the PC police in the UK wants us to lump ’em all together.

In a single lifetime they have gone from “We shall fight them on the beaches, we shall fight them on the fields” to “I surrender! I surrender!”

Margaret Thatcher would never have permitted it.
