‘He Leadeth Me’

This hymn has been on my mind lately, another old Sunday school favorite–He Leadeth Me, sung here by the Michael Curb Congregation.

This week’s technical problems are almost fixed–so if you have a hymn you’d like to share, let us know.

‘Fairest Lord Jesus’

This is another dear old Sunday school favorite–Fairest Lord Jesus, performed for us here by Maranatha Celtic.

I’m running late here (*sigh*), but let’s just do the best we can.

The hymn shop’s open.

‘Wonderful Words of Life’

This dear old hymn really takes me back to Sunday school–Wonderful Words of Life, sung by the Dallas Christian Concert Choir. Now it’ll probably be with me all day, but I don’t mind–it’ll be good company.

Encore: ‘In the Sweet By and By’ (J & J)

Well, I’m about ready for the sweet by and by, that’s for sure!

Meanwhile, we have this hymn as a very sweet instrumental by our esteemed friends and colleagues, Joshua and Jeremy. Hit it, boys! In the Sweet By and By.

By Request, ‘Showers of Blessings’

We have a good old-fashioned Sunday school favorite, requested by Erlene–Showers of Blessings, sung by Andy Harsant and choir. I can’t say I remember this one from my old Sunday school, but it would have certainly fit right in.

Bonus Hymn, ‘This Is My Father’s World’

I quoted this hymn in my last post, and now I’ve just got to have it. This was a favorite in Sunday school; but now that I’m older, it was power to move me deeply. Hard to hold back the tears!

This Is My Father’s World–performed by students at Fountainview Academy.

‘Bringing in the Sheaves’

This was the first hymn that came to mind today, and as there are no requests as yet, I decided to go with it–Bringing in the Sheaves, sung by the Mansion Singers. An old Sunday school favorite (even if we weren’t quite sure what “sheaves” were).

‘Revive Us Again’

We haven’t had this one for a while, have we? Revive Us Again, sung by Nathan and Lyle with auto-harp and guitar (Lord, we could use some reviving around here!). You don’t need a fancy studio to sing a hymn.

‘Rejoice, Ye Pure in Heart’

This is an old Sunday school favorite, and the first hymn to pop into my head today–Rejoice, Ye Pure in Heart, sung by choir and congregation at Grace Community Church in Sun Valley, California. Not much video, but at least you get the lyrics.

By Request, ‘How Great Thou Art’

My mother and Grandma and my aunts used to sing this hymn as they went about their housework. Requested by Erlene–How Great Thou Art, performed by Alan Jackson.

How I would love to hear them singing it again.
