An unbelievable story. Coincidence or Miracle? or both

Wednesday summing-up

A pretty good day today–not hot, clear and sunny.  I didn’t even need to put on the A/C  today.

Didn’t get a chance to investigate those “real time” price changes, but will try to get to it tomorrow.

Did errands this morning–store, bank, etc.  The usual business of every day living.

My friend from Florida had sent me a clipping about how her town is being touted as “booming”.  They are not happy, and a lot of other people are not happy.  There is an absolute jihad against trees (just like in my town)  and the city fathers are working very hard to change the nature of the town from the kind of environment people moved there for in the first place.  One man at a town meeting had stated –if I wanted to live in Miami, I would have moved to Miami.

Why do I have a feeling that money changed hands?

I had heard the very same thing from the woman who owns our convenience store downtown this morning.  She said at a meeting that she had attended (allegedly to give people a chance to be heard) they were basically told they were out of time to speak.  We have an awful traffic problem here in our little borough and it is getting worse all the time.

Well, that’s it for now.

Have a good night, all.

See you tomorrow.

God bless everybody.

High Rise Buckling in New York

Is it me, or is there more of this than there used to be?

Bulkhead failure in Sea Isle City

Doesn’t the Bible mention something about building on sand?  If you look at the house on the right, all the sand has washed out from under.

So-so day.

Today was not all that awful.

The heat was no issue, because it rained most of the day, so that was a big plus.

My friend from Florida is up in West Virginia as her husband’s sister is gravely ill.  We normally talk on the phone a couple of times a day, so that bit of human contact was not available.  It was mighty quiet around here today.

I think I have cracked the code for republishing Lee’s work so that the email notifications are sent.  I will see if that continues to work out  tomorrow.

I am also having a problem adjusting to cooking for one.  I always cooked for three, because Lee had a very hearty appetite and so do I.  It may sound odd, but it is a real adjustment.  When you’ve been cooking like that for almost  fifty years–well, it’s a big change.

I may treat myself to pizza tonight..

Have a good night, all.

See you tomorrow.

God bless everybody

Made it through the day

After last night’s fiasco, I’m surprised I made it through the day.

Did very little, and managed to stay awake all day.  I really don’t want to mess up my sleep schedule, so I avoid napping.

Please everyone have a happy and safe 4th of July–do your picnics, cook-outs or whatever your pleasure is–just have a really good time.  America is a very special country and her birthday should be celebrated.

If you get a chance, please see Byron’s post today–he is eating a leaf with great relish and because it was not announced it got zero views.  He is a darling fellow.

Have a good night, all.

See you tomorrow.

God bless everybody.

A totally miserable night..

Last night we had a power failure for about 4 hours.

Today I am destroyed from lack of sleep.

I ended up taking the computer chair and wheeling it into the kitchen so I could sit right in front of the back door (which is screened). That was a juggling act in itself because my kitchen is only a galley.  It was cooler outside because there had been some thunderstorms so there was a little breeze.  It made it tolerable.  I do not recommend trying to doze in an office chair.

The good news is my refrigerator never got into the red zone, so all my food is safe.

I would have been heartsick if I had had to throw out food (yet again).

I had just done that with the refrigerator failure.

Needless to say there won’t be as much action on the ol’ blog today.

I’ll do my best.

Catch you later.

Not much done today, but that’s just fine.

In stark contrast to the past two days, today I did zero jobs.  Took a complete day off and it felt good.  Can’t risk burnout.  I felt fine, but had zero ambition and just decided to go with the flow and take it easy.

It has gotten hot, and it’s going to get a lot hotter.

That I am not looking forward to.  It’s only supposed to be for a couple of days (and that’s enough).

I read about these privately owned drones causing havoc at airports.

I might be wrong, but isn’t the air space around airports considered off limits?  The owners of the drones should be heavily fined as they (the drones) can cause real havoc if they collide with planes.

Too many people have too much money and too little brains.

Have a good night, all.

See you tomorrow.

God bless everybody.

Are there or aren’t there?

Trying to find a possible answer to this question.
