As an out-of-the-loop Protestant from a family that’s half Roman Catholic, I hardly know what to make of this story.

Archbishop Carlo Maria Vigano, former apostolic nuncio to the United States, has called upon the Swiss Guards to arrest Pope Francis I and Cardinal Victor Fernandez (https://www.lifesitenews.com/news/archbishop-vigano-swiss-guards-should-arrest-bergoglio-and-fernandez-expel-them-from-the-vatican/). His words, as quoted in various news media:

“The Swiss Guards have sworn to defend the See of Peter, not the one who is systematically destroying it. Let them therefore be faithful to their oath and arrest these heretical perverts!”

That’s what he said.

Is there going to be an eruption in the Church, or is this just going nowhere?  I don’t know. The archbishop refers to Francis as “Bergoglio” and “the Argentinian,” and to Cardinal Fernanez’s writings as “pornographic” and “blasphemous.” I can’t find any history that shows the Swiss Guards arresting a pope. Pope Francis has declined to comment so far.

I do not know whether to view this as real news, to be taken very seriously, or as just another nasty church-fight  as occurs within all too many churches. Maybe we’d all better hang back and see what develops.

We have few heroes in this fallen world. But “few” is not “none”–and for those we have, we should thank God’s careful providence and honor those whom He has sent to us.

One of those heroes is Archbishop Carlo Maria Vigano. His Jan. 6 Epiphany message applies to all the world; and he has special warnings for the globalist nabobs who will soon be meeting at Davos (https://www.lifesitenews.com/opinion/abp-vigano-everyone-will-face-gods-judgement-even-the-architects-of-the-great-reset/).

Please read it.

“While world leaders prefer to gather in Davos for their globalist agenda,” he writes, and outlaw churchmen are “encouraging the most unmentionable vices… transforming wise and just government into an instrument of hateful tyranny…

“What will you do, servants of the Great Reset, when your masters have to flee into their lairs and hide within the bowels of the earth?”

I have only picked out a few words from his Epiphany message. The man is bold for Jesus Christ! We need to hear his word and spread it. How he reminds me of St. Gildas (On the Ruin of Britain, c. 500 A.D.)!

Globalists might buy off worldly authorities, but they will never buy the Judge of All the Earth. Unless they repent, their doom is certain. They can escape consequences here on earth, but there is no escape from Hell.

Lifesite News this week has shared a speech made by Archbishop Carlo Maria Vigano two years ago. Don’t worry, it hasn’t gone out of date. If anything, it’s more pertinent now than ever (https://www.lifesitenews.com/opinion/abp-vigano-globalist-doctrine-is-essentially-satanic-we-must-rebuild-christendom/).

One quote takes us to the heart of the matter:

“Never expect the truth from the Great Reset advocates. For where there is no Christ, there is no truth, and we know how much they hate Our Lord.”

Hello, churches–hello? He’s right, you know. He says we’ve got to work together and “rebuild Christendom”–because the alternative is “essentially satanic.” Christianity or globalism–we can’t have both.

They hate Our Lord, and don’t let them fool you: they’re not that fond of the human race, either. Always talking about “useless” people who only consume resources–“eaters,” they call us–and who need to be mickeyed out on drugs and video games until they can decide how many of us they ought to allow to stay alive. No, these are not nice people.

At its very, very best, their dystopia would look like Red China.

But I doubt they’d ever come close to being at their best.

Archbishop Carlo Maria Vigano, formerly the papal ambassador to the United States, has written an open letter to President Trump (https://edwardpentin.co.uk/archbishop-vigano-writes-open-letter-to-president-trump-full-text/). It makes for very worthwhile reading.

The archbishop wrote of the “spiritual battle” between good and evil and how, in America, somehow good is “held hostage by the wicked.” He identifies the worldly forces of evil–which are subordinated to Satan–with the deep state and globalism and has some interesting remarks about the “colossal operation of social engineering” called forth by the COVID-19 panic.

He concludes: “United against the Invisible Enemy of all humanity, I bless you and the First Lady, the beloved American nation, and all men and women of good will.”

Archbishop Wants to ‘Unmask Globalists’

Archbishop Carlo Maria Vigano, along with three cardinals, nine bishops, and a host of other supporters, has launched an “Appeal for the Church and the World” aimed at alerting the world’s nations to the threat posed by globalism (https://www.lifesitenews.com/opinion/archbishop-vigano-plans-for-a-new-world-order-must-be-unmasked-understood-and-revealed).

The Red Pope isn’t gonna like it.

Quoting Archbishop Vigano: “The idea of plans for a New World Order under which countries and ordinary citizens see their identity taken away by a powerful elite might have seemed absurd until a few years ago.” The Appeal is to show “the serious danger to individual freedom caused during the spread of Covid-19…[by] powers which think there is no higher authority than themselves… [and] to break the media silence” from a media which is “censored and controlled.”

Bishop Muller: “The Church has allowed itself to be used as ‘Outreach’ by the New World Order.”

The Appeal was published on May 12, a few days ago. We have not yet seen any response to it from the Vatican.

Now, are we going to listen to these high-ranking officials of the Roman Catholic Church, or just write them off as cranks? Do we dare ignore them?

Yes, we should listen to them. Yes, there are rich and powerful individuals scheming to take away our freedom. There always are, and always have been: it is a dynamic of history.

Would-be world-conquerors–like Alexander the Great, or Genghis Khan–used to unleash great armies against their neighbors, to attain their goals by violence. World War II springs to mind.

But nowadays they’ve put their weapons on the shelf and try to take over the world with money, propaganda, so-called “science” (think Global Warming/Climate Change “you’re all gonna die unless you give us fantastic new powers–and all your money!”), political action, and in-the-bag media. They seek to win by lies and flattery what they’ve never been able to win by brute force.

Stand up for freedom, stand up for truth, and pray–because the earth is the Lord’s, and no cabal of sneaky socialists has any right to rule it.

May the Lord our God defend us from these predators.
