When I hear this hymn, I’m back in the Fellowship Hall at our Dutch Reformed Church, singing with the rest of the Sunday school.

First hymn to pop into my mind this morning, no requests forthcoming–an old Sunday school favorite, Yield Not to Temptation. Sung by Nathan and Lyle, and also known as Look Ever to Jesus.
This hymn was a real Sunday school favorite–Wonderful Words of Life, sung by the Dallas Christian Adult Concern Choir. It brings back sweet memories.

I have an eye doctor’s appointment, so all I can do for now is post a hymn. I Sing the Mighty Power of God, sung by the Mountain Anthems, written by Isaac Watts in 1715–it’s been one of my favorites since I was a boy in Sunday school. Beautiful!

The sun has just peeked out today, and given us a beautiful fall landscape: all of it the work of God’s hands.
Evil news abounds. There’ll be plenty of it tomorrow. But here and now, let us enjoy God’s protection and praise Him for His work.
