How about Artificial Everything?

There’s a lot of euphoria in the air these days, inspired by President Donald Trump sticking it to Far Left Crazy. But the Bad Guys–who have had decades to solidify their position–will not go without a hard fight. Either they will not survive, or the rest of us will not survive. The war has only just started.

It will be a religious war.

AI (“Artificial Intelligence”) as a god? The worship of something created by human hands? A thing which promises “salvation” managed by Far Left kooks in ivory towers.

God help us, this blather is as old as the hills! Will we never outgrow idolatry? Who asked for a “Church of AI” and “immortality through AI”? And they can take their “Techno-Utopian Gospel” and feed it to the fishes.

Take nothing for granted. We have work to do! Work to do as God’s people. And we’d better do it well.

I like to re-run this piece now and then, because so many people seem to think computers will lead them to the promised land or something.  They seem to forget that these are inanimate objects–things created by human hands.

Can Fools Create Wise Computers?

Does it stand to reason nincompoops and sinners can create perfection? Paradise? That we don’t need God… because we’ve got Neil DeGrasse Tyson?

Yeahbut, yeahbut! They’ve got chess computers that are way better than chess masters! *Sigh* It’s only a simulation, dude. The super chess computers “know” only what human chess experts have programmed them to know. But in terms of consciousness, they don’t knoiw anything at all.

Where do people think computers get their “smarts” from? Do you think a Google gizmo can “know” anything that some human programmer didn’t put in?

Sometimes we, as Christians, have to purchase goods and services from non-Christians, or even from bad people–because that’s the fallen world we live in. But God forbid we should ever turn to Google for any kind of guidance.

“Alexa, what must I do to be saved?” is a foolish question.

How dumb, how gullible, do publishers think children are? And are you comfortable with the idea of a piece of extraterrestrial technology that’s virtually omnipotent and can, and will, give a bunch of kids anything and everything they ask for–instantly?

The more I think about these books, the less I like them. “Egg” the spaceship is presented to us as a machine, but it acts more like a god. And if you think absolute godlike power is a good thing for any children to have, you’re flat-out crazy.

Please! We just have to do better!

Speaking for myself, if God gave me everything I ever asked for, that would be proof He hated me.
