The earth. Nature. The state. “Science.” A trinity with four persons in it, presided over by smugness and self-hatred. And please don’t ask me to explain how they worship Nature by paving over every bit of it they can grab.

So Michael Moore, with a carbon footprint as big as his gut, warns us that “The Planet” is gonna take control and wipe out the human race for… well, for not listening to him.
One thing our current age abounds in–false gods. More of them than you can shake a stick at. Maybe I should have a contest: “How Many of Today’s False Gods Can You Name?” Winner gets an onion.
That’d be great if dindles like ourselves could actually create machines with real intelligence and then have them solve all our problems for us.
This is a profoundly stupid notion.
Intelligence has to be alive. The works of our hands are not alive.
But as we can so easily and sadly see, being alive is no guarantee of intelligence.
We haven’t come such a long way from worshiping silly idols made of wood or stone, have we?
Worshiping the Golden Calf–some things never change.

She also bragged, “We partnered with Google” and other Big Tech to suppress anything that went against the globalist “science narrative,” labeling all dissent “disinformation.” See, they’re the only ones who’re giving you the straight dope. The UN, the WEF, and Big Tech. I mean, if you can’t trust them, who can you trust?
The UN Under-secretary for Global Communications–hot dog. I won’t bother to type out her name: her kind is a dime a dozen.
Y’know–if the “science” really is “owned” by some political faction, then it isn’t really science at all, is it?
What do you get when you mix science and politics? You get politics!
You villains and you dastards, who bow down to Baal and think we, God’s people, ought to bow to you–hear this!
We will not bow to you, nor to your idols made with human hands, nor to your state, nor to your so-called science, nor to the assorted inanities that you hold up as “truths.”
Our God Jehovah made the heavens and the earth, and sent Jesus Christ, His Son, to be our Savior.
Today you run wild, today you think to eat our flesh and bones. But when our awesome God turns His judgment on you, no one will be able to find you anymore at all. You will have no place in His Kingdom, no place anywhere at all.

I don’t think normal people will ever understand just how warped and lunatic the Far Left is. Having abandoned the real God, they worship themselves and their creations.
We are in clear and present danger of falling into these weird people’s hands, now that they have a whole political party to call their own.
America will never be a safe haven for freedom until the Democrat Party is permanently put out of business.

I think the most sordid aspect of the Obama years was the lapdog media’s repeated attempts to deify him. For example:
Six years later, the Democrat political landscape has shifted even farther to the left than ol’ *Batteries Not Included was–which is very far indeed–and the mob has begun to take pot shots at him. It’s not sincere. When was any of it sincere?
Praying to a politician–to some slimy little marxist, elected by America in the throes of a delusion–it doesn’t get any more shameful than that. Someone should’ve been busted for child abuse, once this travesty was aired.
Malaysian police are investigating whether a 16-year-old girl committed suicide after her social media followers voted for her to do it (http://news.trust.org/item/20190515091101-3ss0p).
The girl jumped off a roof to kill herself–after, police say, she polled her Instagram followers and 69% of them voted “Death.” Instagram hastens to claim that actually 88% voted “Life”–but by then it was too late.
In Malaysia, “abetting suicide” is a capital offense.
Has social media become an idol, a false god? Go ahead, tell me that it hasn’t. This is peer pressure on steroids.
We please the true God by loving one another and keeping His commandments. He would never ask us to kill ourselves. But false gods always demand much more of us than the Father ever does.
Are we ready to change our ways yet? Or would we rather slide a bit further down this slope?
Secular humanist triumphalism is the religion of most of this world’s ruling class: they mean to replace God. They intend to do all the things God should have done, but of course couldn’t do because He doesn’t exist. So runs their thinking.
Among the wonderful things they plan to do is to eradicate all–repeat, all–disease from the earth: Science will enable them to do this, because Science is pretty much all-powerful. You can’t buy God, but you can buy Science. This they have done.
But here’s the problem. Once they’ve got their shingle out, once they’re set up in the god business, it becomes a poor reflection on them if anyone gets sick. With them in charge, that’s not supposed to happen. Hence mandatory vaccinations against every disease known to medicine; and every time a not-terribly-serious disease, like measles, manifests itself… Well, they’ve got a crisis. A chicken pox crisis, say. Requiring prompt and decisive action by the state. A mandatory chicken pox vaccine. Enforced with fines and prison sentences. You get the idea.
Read their writings. A full and meaningful life for all. No more poverty. No more war. No more national borders: the same global state will govern all.
But the more they do, the more people will expect of them. We’ve already seen this. For instance, with real, raw racism abolished in America insofar as humanly possible, imaginary racism has to take its place–as something for the power of the state to be mobilized against, to feed on, and to grow.
Because everything they do has only one purpose: to expand the reach and power of the state, with themselves in charge of it. It may seem absurd to make laws against using the “wrong” pronouns; but it’s also the state claiming power over the very words out of your mouth. More power. Always more power.

I reviewed this book for Chalcedon back in 2006: The Overachievers: The Secret Lives of Driven Kids. The horror of it is more palpable today than it was back then.
By then it was already easy enough to see that a college education, for most, wasn’t anywhere near worth what you had to pay for it. But the kids in this book are the elite, the cream of the crop, Advanced Placement, they are the idols that their parents worship. They are also slaves chained to the oars, with no hope of escape.
It’s horrible.
Now it’s 12 years later. The nudity of the college emperor is even more glaring than it was.
We have only just begun to imagine that instead of allowing “college” to devour whole generations of our offspring, we just might free ourselves from bondage to it: we just might be able to build it down instead of up.
The sooner, the better!
