By now we all know that American colleges, by and large, promote Far Left orthodoxies and punish faculty or students who choose not to go along. The California Community College system is suddenly among the chief offenders–and is getting sued for it (https://justthenews.com/nation/free-speech/insanely-chilling-academic-freedom-suit-targets-new-california-college-diversity?utm_source=news.google.com&utm_medium=news-app&utm_campaign=external-news-aggregators).

Centered around Bakersfield College and the Kern Community College District, it’s a complicated case with several plaintiffs and a mob of defendants. It boils down to conservative faculty members getting censored, passed over for promotion, and getting fired for saying or writing things deemed oppositional to the colleges’ “antiracism” line. As usual, our First Amendment freedom of speech is in the crosshairs.

The time has come to defund colleges and universities that refuse to respect our civil rights. This lawsuit is going to a federal court. I don’t see how the bad guys can win this one, their actions were so blatantly wrong–but this is California.

Why should we submit to being “educated” by people who hate us and want to punish us for anything they think we shouldn’t say… or believe?

America, your colleges are not your friends.

We don’t much like our school boards anymore, do we?

Another public school board took a bath in court recently. A federal judge has ordered the Pennsbury, PA, school board to pay more than $300,000 to settle a free-speech lawsuit filed by parents (https://www.buckscountycouriertimes.com/story/news/2022/07/20/pennsbury-school-district-settles-free-speech-lawsuit-board-meetings-public-comment/65375953007/).

Four parents had criticisms of the school district’s “equity in education initiative,” its “diversity” policy, and other items of the usual public school crapola; so the board cut off their mikes and erased their comments from the official record of the meetings–because, the board president babbled, the parents’ criticisms of these stupid policies was “abusive” and–of course–“racist.”

Where are we getting our school board members from? China? We used to elect our neighbors. Where do these little tin-pot tyrants come from?

Well, the board has to rewrite some of its policies and delete one or two others, so I guess now you can say you don’t like “equity education”… even if you can’t get them to stop doing it.

If America ever does collapse and lose her freedom, what we call “education” will have been the biggest culprit.

Crushed between intrusive government and aggressive, increasingly Far Left teachers’ unions, local school boards are nowhere near what they used to be. They’ve gone from being representatives to overlords. The traditional school board, ordinary citizens serving their community, is a thing of the past.

How Our School Boards Turned Against Us

See, our freedom is being gnawed away, a little bit here, a little bit there, and bigger bits over there and over there. It wasn’t so long ago that Canada, Australia, and New Zealand were “free” countries.

And no one, and nothing, plays a bigger part in wiping away our liberties than public education–with the local school boards showing their communities who’s boss. If anyone complains, they sic the FBI on them. Nice.
