‘Did the Queen Really Say It?’ (2016)

Queen Elizabeth II: Biography, British Queen, Royal Family

Would this nice old lady have anyone bumped off?

Once upon a time some people believed that Queen Elizabeth II (God rest her soul) looked into the video camera and a) confessed her government had Princess Diana rubbed out and b) said “I hope you enjoy your final Christmas.”

Did the Queen Really Say It?

And of course, of course!–supposedly the video was pulled in a hurry and most people never saw it… yeah, yeah, and so on.

Why does anyone believe stuff like that? Is it just their way of making life more interesting?

Well, what’s the point of having a royal family if you can’t shower rumors on them?

Did the Queen Say Obama Won’t Leave Office?

Speaking of fake news, here we have the Konspiracy Krowd asserting that Queen Elizabeth II, “a satanic and evil woman”–gee, I thought that was Hillary Clinton–has said President *Batteries Not Included will not leave office when his term is up: but, instead, will do something “horrific” to prevent Christmas and keep himself in power beyond his sell-by date.

Yes, they’re still getting good mileage out of a “lost video” from last year, in which the Queen allegedly said that Christmas 2015 will be the last Christmas ever, and allegedly confess that she had Princess Diana killed because “she knew too much,” yatta-yatta, and there’s no proof because the original video has been pulled–

My head hurts.

Crikey, what’re they gonna say about Prince Charles when he becomes king? He couldn’t successfully conspire to take candy from a baby. But you watch–he will instantly be transformed into a real-life Dr. Fu Manchu. Or at least Professor Moriarty.

From Westminster Abbey, ‘Crown Him With Many Crowns’

I love this hymn; and every now and then, I love to see a hymn get the V.I.P. treatment–after all, hymns are about the Most Important Person of all.

So here’s Crown Him With Many Crowns, complete with British royal family paying homage to the King of Kings who is over us all. Don’t be distracted by the sight of Queen Elizabeth in a yellow cowboy hat. The lesson here is a visual one: all earthly power, even royal power, is subordinate to the total sovereignty of God.

And yoo-hoo, I’m taking hymn requests all weekend… so let’s have some. Especially from some of you who’ve never asked us for a hymn before. Let’s hear from you!

Britain’s Fear of Christians

I told you, you can learn a lot about an era, a nation, by examining its popular culture.

Last night we watched the first episode of a recent (2015) British TV series, Midwinter of the Spirit. It’s about a Church of England woman minister who becomes an exorcist. It’s really rather well done, although the premise does sound kind of lame, if not absurd.

But the thing that most impressed me about it was the way the screenwriters have the other characters react to members of the clergy. The other characters, from all walks of life, behave as if Christianity were some weird tribal cult from the heart of the Amazonian rain forest, complete with shrunken heads.

We have also seen this in other British TV productions: Midsomer Murders, for one.

England was not like this when I was born. This has happened during my own lifetime, during the reign of Queen Elizabeth II. They’ll still pop into church for the odd funeral or wedding, but for all practical purposes, Britain, cradle of saints, has been de-Christianized.

How? How did that happen? And what do these de-Christianized Brits believe in now? I’m almost afraid to ask, but I want to know. What do they believe in now?

A prediction: phenomena traditionally described as demonic possession will increase as a culture drifts farther and farther away from Christianity, and into God knows what.

Here she is–what does she know that we don’t?

Supposedly Queen Elizabeth’s annual Christmas message that the world heard this past Christmas was most certainly not her original version of it.

According to various “sources,” the Queen, in her first version of the speech, darkly hinted that the royal family had Princess Diana murdered because “she knew too much,” and then delivered this gem: “I hope you enjoy your final Christmas” ( http://bible-storytelling.beforeitsnews.com/terrorism/2015/12/queens-2015-christmas-message-enjoy-your-final-christmas-2456776.html ).

Yowch! What did she mean by that?

Of course, the video of this version of the speech has been “pulled,” so there’s no proof she ever said a word of it. But meanwhile she’s got a lot of people bug-eyed. “What does she know that we don’t know? What does she mean?”

Will they outlaw Christmas? Will Moslems take over and ban Christian holidays? Is the world due to come to an end? Will Britain be vaporized in a nuclear war?

Or was it all just a nice gift to the conspiracy theory community?

Unless someone comes up with the video, we’ll never know. Even then, videos can be doctored and faked. But if you are able to imagine the Queen of England sitting in front of the cameras and microphones and fessing up that she and her family had Princess Diana bumped off, then you have a pretty lively–if unglued–imagination.
