‘I Heard the Voice of Jesus Say’

Here’s another hymn I never heard before–I Heard the Voice of Jesus Say, performed here by Joshua and Jeremy. Haunting melody, isn’t it? I wonder how it would sound with Johnny Cash singing it. I wonder how it’d sound with Joshua and Jeremy singing it.

‘I Surrender All’ (Joshua & Jeremy)

No hymn requests today–was it something I said?–so I’ve chosen this one to share with you: I Surrender All, performed by Joshua and Jeremy Swanson. I would like to say “sung by,” but it’s always hard to get these guys to sing.

‘This World Is Not My Home’

Our dear friends the Swanson Brothers have grown up right before our eyes–it didn’t seem to take any time at all!

Today they have for us This World Is Not My Home, with lyrics so you can sing along.

‘Praise Him, Praise Him!’

Our friends and esteemed colleagues, Joshua and Jeremy Swanson,  have an instrumental hymn for us–Praise Him! Praise Him!–with lyrics so you can sing along. This is another one of Fanny Crosby’s nine thousand hymns.

‘Be Thou My Vision’ (J&J)

This is an Irish hymn from some 1,300 years ago, Be Thou My Vision; and here it is being performed in Japan by the Swanson Brothers, Joshua and Jeremy (our dear friends and colleagues).

That tells you something about Our Lord Jesus Christ and His Church, doesn’t it?

‘O How I Love Jesus’

This is from our dear friends and colleagues, Joshua and Jeremy–O How I Love Jesus.

The hymn shop’s open but there’s nobody here. Look, if you’ve got a favorite hymn you’d like to share today, just let us know, we’ll do the rest.

‘Give Me Oil In My Lamp’

We have another instrumental hymn from Joshua and Jeremy–Give Me Oil in My Lamp. I keep thinking that maybe if we applaud them enough, the Swanson Brothers will sing. Meanwhile, they glorify God with their music.

Joshua & Jeremy, ‘In the Sweet By and By’

It’s been too long since I posted anything by our dear friends and esteemed colleagues, Joshua and Jeremy Swanson. In The Sweet By and By is a special treat because they sing it, too.

I’d try a music video, only I can’t sing and play the harmonica at the same time.

Special Treat: ‘Life Is Like a Mountain Railway’

Wow! Our favorite duo, Joshua & Jeremy, has become a trio with the addition of their cousin, James Swanson.

I found this very moving! Life Is Like a Mountain Railway, by Joshua, Jeremy, and James–who said there’s no great guitar-playing in Japan? Guys, you brought me very near to tears–but I should add, tears of comfort and joy.

‘This World Is Not My Home’

Now turn we unto our friends and esteemed colleagues, the Swanson Brothers (as Sir Thomas Malory would say), playing an instrumental of the classic hymn, This World Is Not My Home.

Some of you have been regulars here for years without ever requesting a hymn. Well, I’ll just keep trying…

Some of you never press the ‘Like’ button either. If this was a YouTube site, that’d really hurt.
