Erasing Our Freedom

We Cannot Tell a Lie: The Danger of Misquoting George Washington | Washington Crossing Historic Park

[See Why Tech Totalitarianism Threatens to Turn America into Canada or China Unless We Stop It, by Kara Frederick in The Federalist (https://thefederalist.com/2022/02/23/why-tech-totalitarianism-threatens-to-turn-america-into-canada-or-china-unless-we-stop-it/) ]

So it seems that the glaringly misnamed Dept. of Justice is setting up a “terror unit” focused on “anti-government or anti-authority” sentiment. By which they mean anti-them and anti-their pretensions.

Have they forgotten how our country was founded? Maybe they simply don’t know. Let me clue you in, DOJ–the American colonies rebelled against both the government and the authority of Great Britain. We did not say “May I?” We did not wait for permission to set up our own country.

And the one that we set up, according to the Declaration of Independence, derived its powers from the consent of the governed. Do you see the difference? They, the freakin’ government, are the ones who are supposed to say “May I?” They need our permission!

But we seem to be drifting away from that lately, don’t we?

Yesterday was George Washington’s birthday. If he were alive today, he would be leading an army against the city that so unworthily bears his name.

Government and Big Tech are colluding to become our masters.

Give them your profound distrust.

Homeschooling ‘Surging Across America’!

I don’t usually do news on Sundays, but this is good news that ought to hearten us.

All across America, homeschooling is growing by leaps and bounds. An article in The Federalist analyzes the trend (https://thefederalist.com/2021/08/19/homeschooling-is-surging-across-america-homeschoolers-told-us-why/).

Did I just say “trend”? It’s more like a rocket going off.

And why is it such good news?

Because 1) homeschooling produces smarter and wiser citizens who will not be easily deceived; 2) homeschooling could reach a point where it cripples “public education” and, more to the point, the teachers’ unions; and 3) without money and manpower donated by the teachers’ unions, and their indoctrination of young people to shape them into useful idiots–without public education and teachers’ unions, the Far Left Crazy in America dies.

A consummation devoutly to be wished! And prayed for. And worked for.

Anyway, in fall of the 2020-2021 school year, census data showed 11.1 percent of households homeschooling, double the previous year. By May 2021 it was up to 19.5 percent! That is pretty heft growth.

Why is homeschooling on the rise?

The top reasons cited by The Federalist: Parents don’t want their children wearing masks all day; because of the lockdowns, many families were forced to try homeschooling and discovered that they liked it, that it really worked for their children; that they really, really, intensely didn’t like all the Far Left crapola on the curriculum, especially the “transgender” push and Hypocritical Race Theory. Nor were they at all pleased with academic standards that get lowered again and again.

These are compelling reasons, and so far they add up to about a fifth of America’s families opting for homeschooling instead of yielding up their children to the tender mercies of Far Left teachers’ unions.

We don’t know how many children have to stay out of public school before the system collapses and the teachers’ unions along with it.

The unions have doubled down on Critical Race Theory.

Let’s make them pay for it.

Twelve Senators Demand Election Audit

Sen. Ted Cruz Says Judge Amy Coney Barrett 'Will Make A Strong Justice' – Houston Public Media

Senator Ted Cruz, along with 11 other senators, has stated that they will object to the certifying of 2020’s extremely questionable presidential election and have called for a thorough audit of it (https://thefederalist.com/2021/01/04/ignoring-and-ridiculing-election-fraud-concerns-will-not-make-them-go-away/).

The Democrats, backed up by their tools in the nooze media and Big Tech, keep trying to sweep away all reports and allegations of fraud in that election. If they repeat the lie often enough, they hope the controversy will simply dry up and blow away.

But we have “thousands of allegations of fraud,” according to Stella Morabito’s essay in The Federalist; and if these are not addressed, the cloud over the election will linger and “abnormality becomes the ‘new normal’ and self-government is lost.”

And all we get from Democrats, Republican surrender monkeys, and the in-the-bag nooze media and Big Tech is barefaced denials of any fraud at all, name-calling–the usual bag of tricks–and incessant demands that this iffy election be certified and China Joe Biden rushed into the White House, end of story.

Well, it’s not the end of the story, is it? They just spent four years and then some, every hour of every day, trying to overturn the 2016 election and run President Donald Trump out of office so they can all go back to corruption as usual. How any regime can govern with such a cloud of crime hanging over its head is a mystery.

It is not going to go away, and we are not going to forget.

You stole our republic and we want it back.

Lefty Loons Try to Take Over Science Fiction

Not even the realm of science fiction is safe from being commandeered as a battleground in the Culture War–as usual, because lefty loons got there first and tried to take it over, lock, stock, and barrel. Well, at least they’d made a pretty good start at taking over science fiction’s annual Hugo Awards–until they ran into some unexpected pushback from science fiction writers ( http://thefederalist.com/2015/04/08/the-hugo-awards-culture-wars/ ).

Unlike, say, the Oscars, thousands of SF fans vote on the Hugos. All you have to do is go to a certain convention, pay a small membership fee, and you’re eligible to vote for the Hugo Awards.

This made it easy for ordinary people to join in the fun: very democratic. But it also made it easy for radical ideologues to organize and lobby so that only writers who had a reliably loopy left-wing political slant could ever win an award.

But after a while conservatives in the science fiction world cottoned on to what was happening, and counter-organized–

With such success that the 2015 Hugo nominations provoked a loud and anguished outcry from the usual gang of idiots. Sexism! Racism! Ho-mo-phobia! Too many white males! There oughta be a law! Do-over, do-over!

How the conservatives accomplished this makes very interesting reading. Consult the link to the article in The Federalist.

Again we see that, to the alleged mind of the progressive, no sphere of activity is immune to being swallowed up by politics. Everything, and they do mean everything, must be made into a vehicle to push the earthly paradise that will surely be ours, once the whoopee crowd has all the power and has utterly crushed and extirpated every vestige of opposition or dissent.

Not to mention the collateral pleasure of spoiling other people’s fun. How dare they enjoy their science fiction! Oh, we’ll fix them! Arise, you victims of oppression…

But this time it looks like the good guys have won.
