At last, a hymn request! This one’s from Erlene–In the Garden, sung by Alan Jackson.
I try to post all hymns requested by readers, but there’s been a dry spell lately. If you’ve got a hymn you’d like to share, just let me know.

I had problems posting a hymn today, but here, enjoy this–He Hideth My Soul, by Fanny Crosby, sung by the Antrim Mennonite Choir. One of five or six thousand Fanny wrote.
God knows we need a mighty fortress. Devils on the loose, everywhere you look.
I don’t know who this is, singing the hymn, but it’s well worth hearing. Nor do I know the fortress in the picture.
But as a wise woman once said… “Sing louder!”
Well, I need reviving and that’s no lie. We have just returned from a crack-of-dawn consultation preparatory to a colonoscopy… to find out what deviltry is brewing in my guts. The procedure hasn’t been scheduled yet. I am strongly averse to medical procedures. Always have been–I don’t even like to read about ’em.
Anyway, it’s over for today at least. Guess I’ll get to work.
I don’t know whether I’ll be here tomorrow. I’ll be facing a–let’s call it “a medical challenge”–at the crack of dawn and I don’t know what comes afterward. I could get really bad news.
And I’m still grieving my cat. I miss her so bad.
But anyway, here’s a lovely hymn, well worth sharing–He Who Would Valiant Be, sung by the Wallingford Parish Church choir, with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.
Your prayer will be most welcome.
I suppose I ought to post more news about the attempted murder of President Donald Trump. But this hymn has been in my head all day, and I think the Holy Spirit wants me to share it with you–Yield Not to Temptation: an old Sunday school favorite, sung here by Nathan and Lyle.
Has our country ever needed saving more than now? Has it ever needed Jesus more than now?
Democrats have reached the point where they will kill to stay in power. God’s sovereign grace preserved President Trump’s life yesterday. And we need you, Lord, to preserve our country.
God deliver us out of the hands of the wicked. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Our church used to ring when we sang this hymn–Come, Thou Almighty King. The same melody supports Christ for the World We Sing… At least, that’s how I remember it.
I know I’ve posted this video more than a few times; but it has a message that we need to hear. I do, at least.
Doc Watson sings What a Friend We Have in Jesus–and he sings it like he means it.
Now this hymn is going to be in my head all day–and you know what? It’ll be welcome! Christ Shall Have Dominion, music written by Arthur Sullivan of Gilbert & Sullivan fame. Most of us know the tune better from Onward, Christian Soldiers.
Nice job, singers… whoever you are.
