Ain’t gonna get it back that way, comrade

National Public Radio has announced a hiring freeze to avoid layoffs… in the wake of losing some $20 million in corporate sponsorship–about 42% of NPR’s total income (https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2022/12/npr-loses-20-million-corporate-sponsorships-implements-hiring-freeze/).

Management blames it on “global economic contraction.” I’m amazed they didn’t blame it on Donald Trump.

Meanwhile, they plan a $10 million spending cut, which will still leave them in the red but hey, it’s “public” radio–which means they can always stick the public with the bill.

Is it possible that year after year after year of way-out left-wing bias has finally caught up with NPR? We used to donate–but their antics drove us out of there quite a few years ago. No, we are not going to contribute to the delinquency of a radio station. If they want transgender puppet shows for pre-schoolers, let ’em do it on their own dime.

As if they’ve ever done anything on their own dime.

 

Coca-Cola Tells Employees, ‘Be Less White’

I don’t know how I missed this story when it came out last year–although the Coca-Cola Co. broke all sorts of speed records, sweeping it under the rug. But for a little while there, the company was telling its white employees, “Be less white” (https://nypost.com/2021/02/23/coca-cola-diversity-training-urged-workers-to-be-less-white/).

What does that mean? Well, apparently there are all these Virtues that People Of Color (POCs) have and low-down white folks can only aspire to–

And it would demean me to write up any more of this garbage.

Yes, it was all part of Coca-Cola’s “diversity training” program. What’s that? “Diversity training” is forcing everyone to have exactly the same opinion. It would’ve gone on forever if a whistleblower hadn’t exposed it. They even had a sociologist! Although she says she had nothing to do with it. They had a “course” called “Confronting Racism” in which white employees had to face up to what rotten human beings they are, etc., etc.

Exposed to the light of day, Coca-Cola made it disappear.

How long do we have to put up with this ****? Uh, for as long as Democrats can steal elections?

Victoria’s Secret Goes Woke, Goes Broke

Never mind the models. Here are some playful puppies instead.

Not that years’ and years’ worth of advertising that stopped just short of soft-core porn ever struck me as anything but goop, but it did make Victoria’s Secret the conquering giant of the women’s lingerie market.

But then the lingerie giant decided to go Woke, replacing, um, “sexy” models with angry “activists” in undies glaring at the camera… and now they’re taking it on the chin (https://republicandaily.com/2022/07/mass-layoffs-victorias-secret-is-going-broke-after-making-the-mistake-of-going-woke/).

VS has just laid off 160 “management employees,” and last week its stock took a 4.3% hit. Sales are down. Apparently the undie-buying public doesn’t like getting glared at by activists. Nor does it seem to appreciate VS’s decision to “embrace transgender,” etc. Oddly enough–who would’ve thought it?–culture-killing has a fair number of people pushing back. Buying their undies from someone else.

I haven’t found any pictures of the new Sonny Liston-type VS models, so you’ll have to be content with something less obnoxious.

Ben & Jerry’s Hot Potato

Investors are jettisoning their stock in Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream–which is to say, they’re tossing our their stock in Unilever, the British corporation that owns the Far Left Crazy ice cream chain (https://www.denverpost.com/2022/03/18/colorado-pension-fund-israeli-occupation/).

State pension funds and other holdings in Colorado, New Jersey, Arizona, and several others, have severed their connection with “Sodomy ‘R’ Us”–oops, sorry: Ben & Jerry’s. The company’s passionate commitment to every Far Left weirdo project in the book came to a head last year with its taking sides with “Palestine” against Israel and threatening not to sell any more ice cream in the West Bank until it’s a Palestinian state. For many investors, that was the last straw. The Colorado public employees’ union got rid of more than $40 million in Unilever stock.

So Unilever sold its waning interest in Ben & Jerry’s to an Israeli firm.

Ben & Jerry’s has been a pimple on  the body politic for many years. They’re fanatics; they won’t change. They were Woke before anybody knew what “woke” meant.

With so many other brands to choose from, why buy any ice cream from them?
