What We’re Up Against REPRINT

All Christians ought to read Humanist Manifesto II (https://americanhumanist.org/what-is-humanism/manifesto2/), to see what we’re up against.

True, every pack of douchebags has a “manifesto,” starting with the the Communist Manifesto itself. But that’s no reason not to take it seriously. These are dangerous douchebags, with academic creds galore and all kinds of prestige. They and their kind have soaked into the institutions of Western civilization and corrupted it. So read what they have to say for themselves.

Here’s their sales pitch. You give up God, because He isn’t real, and all that “unproved and outmoded” religion stuff like forgiveness of sins, redemption, the hope of eternal life, the hope of justice and the hope of mercy–you give that up, see, and transfer your hope and trust and allegiance to us, The Smartest People in the World.

In return, we’ll give you goodies like you won’t believe! “Using technology wisely,” because Science, don’t you know, has all the answers, we’re gonna end war, end poverty, wipe out disease, drastically increase the human life-span, provide everyone with fantastic jobs that they really like, and even “direct the course of human evolution”–I mean, how cool is that? Just give us the power, give us the money, and we will do all these things that God shoulda done but He didn’t because there is no God, etc.

That’s the deal. Like, really–a baby in a manger? You gotta be kiddin’! Prayers? Oh, come on!

But we know what we wind up with when we turn away from Jesus Christ, our only Savior and our rightful King. We’ve seen them break their eggs to make their omelets: only the omelet never gets made, and the landscape is littered with gulags and mass graves and prisons.

They ask us to worship them as gods, claiming to be able to do all the things–eventually, at least, through Science–that God should be able to do. Since Manifesto2 was written, they’ve also cooked up a Climbit Change apocalypse and promised to Save The Planet from it… if we’ll just give them that world government that they’ll need to do the job.

What they never fail to give us, these Smartest People in the World, is cruelty, folly, shame, and failure. Those are the gifts of fallen man, cumbered by Original Sin.

All good gifts come from God, and only from Him. The humanists’ “Good without a god” slogan is surely the biggest single line of fat-headedness ever written.

There is no good apart from God. Period.

COVID-19 is very far from being the deadliest disease the world has ever known, but that hasn’t stopped our exalted leaders from behaving like it’s the Black Death and the Spanish Flu rolled into one. And so we have these bizarre, draconian restrictions wrapped around people’s necks, world-wide; and every time we get close to what we’ve been told will be the end of it, they move the goalposts farther away.

Need we mention that nobody tells us anymore what the end will be?

And what happens from now on whenever a nasty disease comes along? Are we gonna play shutdown/lockdown every time?

Why do our exalted leaders do this to us?

Because it’s their weird substitute religion. And what religion is that? The Humanist Manifesto 2 will sum it up neatly for you (https://americanhumanist.org/what-is-humanism/manifesto2/): There is no God, but no problem, using our infallible Science wisely, we, the world’s smartest people, can and will do everything God shoulda done!

So they want God’s job, they want to sit on His throne: and then they realize, “Schiff, now we gotta do all those things we disbelieved in God for not doing!” You will find those things listed in the Humanist Manifesto. Question: Why does every moth-eaten bunch of commie wackos have a “manifesto”?

Now that government is God, and they’re the government, they have to do a better job than God ever did and prevent all Bad Things from happening! And if any of them do happen anyway, it’s Donald Trump’s fault. In the case under discussion here, the self-anointed gods now have to demonstrate that they can wipe out diseases. Once they’ve got it all under control, no one will ever get sick anymore! (Unless White Supremacists find some way to make them sick.)

Whatever the problem, it can always be traced to a core or cadre of Christian conservative spoil-sports who refuse to get behind the program. They’re the ones holding back the Government from creating Utopia! Off to the gulag with ’em! You’ve gotta break eggs to make an omelet.

It’s not just disease. The new gods, self-anointed, also propose to eliminate war, poverty, inequality, and unhappiness. “That’s a better deal than God ever gave you!” And who needs forgiveness of sins, when there must be some Scientific method to make it impossible for you to sin in word, act, or thought? Some little chip implanted in your brain: it’ll fry you if you think a Bad Thought.

Because the humanists aspire to be gods–just as the Serpent promised, back in the Garden of Eden–they must aim for and exercise total control over every aspect of human life. Wow! Good thing they’ll only do that for our own good!

I might have some tolerance for utopianism, if anyone in history ever succeeded in creating a utopia. Usually all you get are prison camps and lots of dead bodies. All for our own good, of course.

I think we all know that the brass ring, for global elitists, is a world government. Absolute power. Because they’re The Smartest Persons In The World and we should consider it a privilege to be ruled by them.

How crazy are these kooks? How filled with hubris? Here’s how they put it back in the Seventies, in Humanist Manifesto 2:

“Using technology wisely, we can control our environment, conquer poverty, markedly reduce disease, extend our life-span, significantly modify our behavior, alter the course of human evolution and cultural development, unlock vast new powers, and provide humankind with unparalleled opportunity for achieving an abundant and meaningful life.”

If that doesn’t give you the willies, you’re probably dead.

Oh! And all you’ve got to do is give up all belief in God, all hope of eternal life and forgiveness of sins, and the last vestige of sane humility.

Now, who’s going to do all these wonderful things? Sinners and idiots, of course. Who else would want to sit where God sits and try to do His job? They’ve got the power of the state and the omniscience of Science–what could possibly go wrong?

But when anything does go wrong, whatever that might be–coronavirus, for example–then it can only be because someone has slipped up somewhere! Things are not supposed to go wrong–not with us geniuses running the show. Some Hater must’ve snuck some sand into the works. Or maybe the ungrateful deplorables out there didn’t do what we told them to. It can’t be that The Smartest Persons In The World aren’t fit to be gods!

The bigger the government, the bigger its crimes. If the 20th century ever taught us anything at all, it should have taught us that.

This creepy pagan pseudo-religion has oozed into our civilization year by year, mostly without Christians even noticing, let alone going out on a limb to proclaim the truth. There is only one person who has the right to set His throne upon the earth–Jesus Christ, and none other.

Meanwhile, the expectation that Everything Is Supposed To Go Right only makes us prone to panic–just as we are seeing in waves of dread and terror over imaginary Climate Change and not-imaginary coronavirus: real, but not The End O’ The World.

Do you really want these self-anointed nincompoops modifying your behavior?

As they confessed once before, and long ago, they have no king but Caesar.

We have no king but Christ.
