I don’t know who’s singing this, but I do know that I need to hear it. I need some carrying today, Lord–all that doctoring scheduled for this afternoon.
So here it is, a Sunday school favorite: Yield Not to Temptation.

This was the first hymn that came into my head today, and I thought I’d better post it: Bringing in the Sheaves, sung by Tennessee Ernie Ford.
I’m feeling very sick this morning; but it’s a beautiful day, and maybe I’ll feel better if I sit outside a while. Worth a try, I guess.
This is a dear old Sunday school favorite from way back: Wonderful Words of Life, sung here by the Dallas Christian Adult Concert Choir. And I couldn’t resist the gorgeous background sets–thank you, O Lord.
I suppose I ought to post more news about the attempted murder of President Donald Trump. But this hymn has been in my head all day, and I think the Holy Spirit wants me to share it with you–Yield Not to Temptation: an old Sunday school favorite, sung here by Nathan and Lyle.
No hymn requests having been received (Where did they go?), I’ll dip into my personal store: Alleluiah, Sing to Jesus. The Welsh melody, “Hyfrydol,” is used for a number of hymns, each with its own set of lyrics. Sing here by St. Michael’s Singers, at Coventry Cathedral.
This is the hymn I wanted to hear today: All Hail the Power of Jesus’ Name. We are not told where this was recorded, or who’s doing the singing. Thank you, whoever you are.
I love this rendition by Fernando Ortega–This Is My Father’s World, one of my favorites from Sunday school days. And how I wish I could spend some time in some of these places! Maybe a lot of time.
Requested by Erlene–Draw Me Nearer, one of six or seven thousand hymns written by Fanny Crosby. For me it’s a Sunday school favorite: brings me back a long, long way.
Prayers for all: we all need ’em.
These past few days have just clobbered us, Patty, Robbie, and me. I feel a need for this hymn–O Worship the King, performed by Maddy Prior and the Carnival Band–reminding us we’re in God’s hands. I’ve often played it on my harmonica.
Let’s find an easy movie and relax with it. Maybe after supper I’ll find a nice critter video to post.
An old classic from way back–Revive Us Again, sung by Nathan (autoharp) and Lyle (guitar) in Denton County, Texas. It brings me back to Sunday school–not a bad place to be, right about now.
