School Board vs. Angry Parents

Opinion | Angry parents at school board meetings have a right to speak - The Washington Post

“The plebs are getting uppity!”

Dearborn, Michigan, school board president, to angry parents (her audience):

“We will not boo, we will not jeer. You can clap if you like, and you’ll listen to the speaker” (https://www.foxnews.com/us/dearborn-michigan-school-board-meeting-books-ends-parents-told-not-boo-clap-only).

The parents were there to object to lurid sex books being made available to children via the school libraries. Obviously they did not understand that their role in “education” begins and ends with paying for it. So the board president addressed them like a schoolmarm letting a roomful of dumb kids know who’s boss.

And for some reason that didn’t tone them down, but only made ’em madder! Who would have thought it? So the board called the cops (What? The FBI wasn’t already there, spying on the parents?) and shut the meeting down.

Remember when your local school board was your neighbors and your friends, just trying to do a good job for the community? How long ago was that? What happened to make it stop?

Now they seem to envision themselves as some kind of masters over the rest of us, with an overriding claim to authority over our children. If we don’t like it, they’ll call the FBI and you’ll have them breaking down your door in the middle of the night.

We pay for those schools, every red cent of it. How come we have no ownership rights?

Face Mask Fascists

The Revolt Against Our Eloi Elite | The American Conservative

Let’s all be good, obedient little Eloi, shall we?

In the supermarket this morning, an employee in the meat department demanded that I wear my face mask higher, to cover my nose. He pantomimed it, too, in case I didn’t understand.

Surely I can’t be the only one who’s getting sick and tired of “By Order of the Governor” and all this face mask horse-schiff. Especially when there are reputable, credentialed medical scientists who say it does no good.

But if you ain’t wearin’ the mask, you ain’t buyin’ food.

I’m finding it increasingly hard to believe that a bunch of globalists didn’t unleash King Virus on us to whip us into obedience. “The people must obey the government!” Sheesh! Remember when this gaggle of officials were known as “public servants”? That’s a laugh.

But once you know how to steal elections, you don’t need public approval anymore. Just do whatever you please, and the voting machines will spit out a manufactured consent.

Our relationship with government has gotten rather cockeyed, don’t you think?

Have We Learned Anything at All?

The Ethics of Globalism, Nationalism, and Patriotism – Brewminate

One of my greatest fears concerning the coronavirus crisis is that we, as a nation, won’t learn a blessed thing from the experience. I fear we’ll return to our follies, picking up right where we left off. God forbid.

Are we so stupid, so wooden-headed, as to go straight back to globalism, out-sourcing our manufacturing, trusting China, trusting the United Nations, and here at home inventing new “genders,” hyper-urbanization (a la Agenda 21), Drag Queen Story Hour, playing footsie with socialism, and pushing such wicked, republic-destroying follies as vote-by-mail, prosecuting Climate Change denial, and allowing the Deep State to run amok? I might say more, but this list is long enough already.

Have we missed the point of so many gaudy displays of tyrannical overreach by mayors and governors and city councils, have we failed to understand that now that they’ve had a taste of it, they’ll be hungry for more? They keep talking about “a new normal.” God defend us from whatever they conceive as “normal”!

I pray in Jesus’ name that America–and other countries, too–will come out of this trial better and wiser than we were, going in. Amen.

Judge: You Can Be Arrested on ‘Suspicion’ of Having Virus

You’d better not look sick!

(Thanks to Phoebe for the nooze tip. She asks, “Since when did illness become a felony?” That question needs an answer.)

The coronavirus panic has moved a Michigan judge to rule that individuals can be arrested and held–without medication!–for up to 72 hours if police or “health officials” suspect him or her of being infected with the virus (https://www.lifesitenews.com/news/michigan-judge-authorizes-arresting-people-on-suspicion-of-covid-19-illness).

The “suspect”–is this crazy, or what?–may be “held for at least three days to confirm he or she is without a fever of 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit for at least 72 consecutive hours (without the use of fever-reducing medication)…”

Probable cause? We don’t need no stinking probable cause.

So they not only arrest you and “forcibly isolate” you for three days because some pipsqueak “suspects” you of having the virus; but if you really are sick, they’re not going to give you any medicine!

What’s with Michigan? The governor has been slapped with two federal lawsuits (so far!) for her heavy-handed “orders” imposed upon the populace. And there’s a recall petition against her with a couple hundred thousand signatures already.

Are our state and local governments becoming a more serious threat to our country than any disease? Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer has become the poster gal for Mussolini wannabes. When they start forbidding you to plant your garden, as Whitmer has done, you know they’ve gone overboard.

Can Americans’ liberties really be lost so swiftly? Is it really that easy for a mayor or a governor to become a dictator?

They need taking down a peg, but good.
