Red Pandas–in the Snow

As I sit here pouring assorted liquids down my throat, and starting to feel bloated even though there’s still a great deal yet to go, my wife was watching video of red pandas. And suddenly it seemed to me that nothing would be finer than to hold one of these babies in my lap and shower it with kisses.

God’s creatures will do that to you sometimes.

And then, like icing on the cake, the video treated us to a snowy day.

Thank you, Cincinnati Zoo.

‘He Hideth My Soul’

I won’t be around tomorrow until sometime in the afternoon, if at all, and today I’m allowed no food.

Well, something told me to post He Hideth My Soul, sung by the Antrim Mennonite Choir: one of eight or nine thousand hymns written by Fanny Crosby.

By Request, ‘The Master’s Call’

Here’s a hymn requested by Erlene: The Master’s Call, by Carroll Roberson.

The hymn shop’s open all day.  Share a favorite hymn! All are welcome.

By Request, ‘He Is Here’

We have this, requested by Erlene: He Is Here, performed by the Gaither Vocal Band.

Can someone help me out with the name of the soloist? I haven’t been able to find it.

By Request, ‘As the Deer’

We have a hymn request from Erlene: As the Deer, by the Maranatha Singers. Adapted from Psalm 42 (“As the hart panteth after the water brooks”).

The hymn shop is open to one and all, every day.

‘Wonderful Words of Life’

This is a dear old Sunday school favorite from way back: Wonderful Words of Life, sung here by the Dallas Christian Adult Concert Choir. And I couldn’t resist the gorgeous background sets–thank you, O Lord.

‘Faith and Reason’ (2017)

No one on this earth is without faith. It’s just a matter of where you put it.

Faith and Reason

God gave us reason as a gift, and meant that we should use it. That it has led some to worship “reason” as a god, while rejecting God Himself, is only what we might expect from a fallen world. Or they can worship “Science.”

All those things are idols. They function when used properly. But like the feller said, a doormat makes a mighty fine doormat but a mighty poor god.

By Request, ‘In the Presence of Jehovah’

We have another hymn request by Erlene: In the Presence of Jehovah, by Terry MacAlmon.

Looks like another day smothered in politics; but we’ll keep the hymn shop open. Somebody might want to come in and share a hymn.

By Request, ‘I Surrender All’

Please join in prayer for our dear friend and sister, Erlene, who is not feeling well today. Meanwhile, she has requested this hymn: I Surrender All, by Carroll Roberson. Please, Lord, refresh her spirit, give her strength. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

By Request, ‘Amazing Grace’ (Dan Vasc)

We have a hymn request from Susan: Amazing Grace, sung by metal artist Dan Vasc.

For some unknown reason, readers’ hymn requests dried up for a month. I try to post them all; so if you have a hymn you’d like to share, just let me know.
