New York Mayor ‘Guarantees’ Health Care for All

New York City Mayor and former Sandinista wannabe Bill De Blasio (not his real name; he doesn’t use his real name) has announced that the city will “guarantee comprehensive health care for all” (https://www.nbcnewyork.com/news/local/NYC-Health-Care-Guarantee-Mayor-de-Blasio-504046171.html).

Yessir, everybody will get health care “regardless of someone’s ability to pay or immigration status,” including some 300,000 “undocumented New Yorkers.” Like, you’re not here legally, and not a citizen, but you’re still a “New Yorker”? The new scheme is supposed to cover 500,000 people–in other words, most of those covered will be illegal aliens.

There are no immediate plans to erect a 100-foot-tall neon billboard saying “Come on down and get free stuff!”

I know this is starting to sound like satire, but stay with me–it’s not.

De Blasio (nee Warren Wilhelm Jr.) said the program will cost $100 million, but, he promised, there will be “no tax hikes to fund it.” Especially after word gets out that NYC is the place to be for free comprehensive health care.

This is being done, babbled De Blasio, because “health is a right.” Uh-huh. And “rights” are handed down and protected by, of course, the government! Therefore the government must see to it that everyone is healthy. And if that makes it grow more powerful, more intrusive, and more oppressively costly–well, hey, that’s just the price of paradise.

If you’re still living and/or working in New York City, you might want to start thinking about going somewhere else.

Yesterday morning in Brooklyn, NY, police had to haul 33 idiots off to the hospital after they’d indulged in “a bad batch” of a drug called K2, or “synthetic marijuana” ( http://nypost.com/2016/07/12/multiple-people-hospitalized-after-k2-overdoses/ ). Police said they were lucky no one died.

The drug, said police, is being sold illegally at a local deli, in a neighborhood around Broadway and Myrtle Avenue–a neighborhood which has lately come to be known as “Zombieland.” That’s because the people who take K2 are described as “totally out of it” and “like something in The Walking Dead.”

Within a few minutes of taking K2, some users begin to vomit copious quantities of foam. Some fun, eh?

It took Rudi Giuliani and Michael Bloomberg twenty years to clean up New York City. Under far-left Sandinista wannabe Mayor Bill De Blasio (not his real name: his real name is Warren Wilhelm Jr., but he never uses it), it has taken only a very few years to piss all that progress into a fan. But this is what always, always happens when leftids are permitted to govern anything.

They call it a recreational drug. Next thing you know, they’ll be handing it out in third-grade classrooms.

Why do libs and other Democrats always want felons to be sprung from jail?

Obviously to make room there for the rest of us.

In New York City now, they’ve made it a serious crime to fail to use some transgender kook’s “preferred pronoun” ( http://www.dcclothesline.com/2016/05/19/new-york-city-to-fine-businesses-that-dont-use-correct-gender-pronouns/ ). At first this prohibition applied only to city employees. Now it has been widened to include “employees, landlords, and businesses.” I think you can soon expect to see it expanded to include family members, neighbors, or just people passing on the street.

Laws used to be about what you couldn’t do. With leftids in charge, laws are increasingly about things we must do, must say, must believe. Like Obamacare: you must buy medical insurance. Or you must be actively involved in a homosexual pseudo-wedding if they demand it of you.

Now the New York City Commission on Human Rights–hint: if your town or city has one of these, then your town or city has more money than is good for it–is on the lookout for “intentional or repeated refusal to use an individual’s preferred name, pronoun, or title.”

Does that mean I can force people to address me as “your majesty,” if that’s the title I prefer? If not, why not?

The commission suggests that, to avoid trouble, employees at any business should ask a person “What is your preferred pronoun?” the moment he, she, or it comes into the shop. Business owners are instructed to fire employees who won’t comply. If you don’t conform to leftids’ vision of “diversity,” you must not be allowed to earn a livelihood.

So, great, now the libs have put a brand-new crime on the books–in addition to other just-invented crimes like microaggression, humanizing the fetus, and the biggest boogie-man of them all, Climate Change Denial.

This is what happens when a great city winds up being governed by a nitwit who used to be a Sandinista groupie. This clown won’t even use his real name, which is Warren Wilhelm Jr.–not “Bill DeBlasio.”

Clearly God is angry with us, to allow such leaders as this to rule over us.

New York Values?

New Yorkers are always startled and amazed to discover that the rest of the country doesn’t seem to like them very much.

They’re in an uproar because Ted Cruz said Donald Trump had “New York values,” alien to the people of the other 49 states. Well, I dunno–how much worse can they be than California values?

Let us stipulate that it was a stupid thing to say–but what did Senator Cruz mean by it? He’s not a stupid man, so he must have meant something. He also doesn’t have all that much experience in politics–but what did he mean? What are New York values?

I live in New Jersey, so I have to be kind of careful about casting stones.

Meaning no disrespect to the people of New York City–I presume Cruz was focused on the city, not the state–would it be unfair to say that New York values liberal politics, a parade for every identity voting group, obtrusive artsy-fartsyness, and an unshakeable conviction that their city is the real capitol of America and everybody else is merely peasants? It is, after all, the city that gives us Al Sharpton, Michael Bloomberg, Warren Wilhelm Jr. dba Mayor Bill DeBlasio (a Sandinista wannabe–how ridiculous is that?), and, saints preserve us, The New York Times. That’s a lot to have to answer for.

But what are Massachusetts values? Don’t ask! Seattle values? How about Chicago values?

The values that matter come from God’s word, and may be found in any city. Even in San Francisco. You can find Biblical “values”–y’know, I really don’t much care for that word–in New York, but you can’t find New York values in the Bible.
