My Newswithviews Column, Dec. 30 (‘Desperate Democrats’)

Democrats want to lower the voting age to 16–a sign of mortal desperation.

Desperate Democrats

Wow. The high school student vote.

Is there anything these people won’t do to gain and keep power?

What will they promise high school kids, to get their votes? Oh, I know! The right to ground your parents.

That ought to fetch ’em.

‘Now That’s a Stupid Question!’ (2017)

See the source image

I started noticing this back in the 1970s, when I was a newspaper editor.

Young reporters coming out of journalism school were incredibly bad at being journalists. And I had to decide which ones to hire.

Now That’s a Stupid Question!

In the above example, “What did you study at clown school?” is just the sort of question you’d ask after some years at the Missouri U. School of Journalism. You would wonder whom Thomas Jefferson Middle School was named after. Who’s buried in Grant’s Tomb? (Liberace? King Tut?)

The only difference between then and now is that now Far Left politics has been added to their natural, habitual ignorance.

By Request, ‘Adeste Fideles’ (Bing Crosby)

So many versions of this hymn! But you can’t go wrong with Bing Crosby, can you?

Requested by Ina (you remain in our prayers), Adeste Fideles (O Come All Ye Faithful in Latin).

Baby, It’s Cold Outside! (Meow!)

The bicycle’s buried up to the handlebars, the family car is just a roundish lump in the snow–and the cat decides to go out. Bad move, Fluffy.

Our cat Henry used to give me a harsh piece of his mind if it was snowing. The moment his feet touched that cold stuff, it was my fault.

By Request, ‘I Wonder As I Wander’

Another entry for our Christmas Carol Contest, requested by Joshua–I Wonder As I Wander, sung by Simon Khorolskiye. And where does he find that scenery! Background sets by God the Father, Creator of heaven and earth.

Your School Tax Dollars–Down the Drain

Boy howdy, you can’t keep track of all the ways public education finds to pour your money down the drain!

Here’s a new “educationese” cliche I only just ran into today: Social Emotional Learning, or SEL for short (they are very big on acronyms! Makes this schiff sound important.)

What is it? First find a machete to hack your way through all the acronyms. Apparently it has something to do with having the school replace the family as a child’s primary source of mental health etc. (Arne Duncan pioneered that nonsense, back in the bad old days of Obama.) Some of it is to teach children “to work well with others and control their emotions.” Did that use to be called “growing up”?

Why does the statist school have to provide “student well-being”? Oh, you’ll love this reason! Because “mental and emotional health in the US have declined over the last few years”–you can take any “educator’s” word for it, I suppose–and, get this: “About one in three children in the United States suffer at least one adverse childhood experience (ACE–”

Wait! Stop! What do they mean, “adverse childhood experience”? Is that what we used to call “life”? Are there some lucky people out there who never had an “adverse childhood experience”?

They also mean to help children “develop healthy identities.” What? Do you know what they’re talking about?

If people ever truly knew and understood how public education wastes their money, that they worked for, that they could have used for their own households–if people ever woke up to that… well, heads would roll.

[Note: The links to SEL articles are too unwieldy for me to manage. Suffice it to say I’ve read them.]

By Request, ‘Christmas Time All Over the World’

“Before you dot another i, Bob Cratchit!”–that is, before I cover any more nooze, we have a Christmas song request by Erlene–Christmas From All Over the World, by Carroll Roberson.

Three more days for the Christmas Carol Contest! Can’t we liven it up a little?

Another Public School District, Another Secret Kept from Parents

Maine's Secret Society Plots To Add Half-Halloween Holiday | The Return of the Modern Philosopher

How far off-site do they mean to go?

Does this seem… suspicious? Holding secret teacher workshops “off-site” and with no public announcement, and producing documents clearly labeled NOT to be seen by students or their parents–does that have a stink to it, or what?

Welcome to the Parma, Ohio, school district. Read all about it in the Mission: America newsletter (https://myemail.constantcontact.com/BREAKING–Parma-Whistle-Blower-Submits-Training-Document-from-Diversity-Center.html?soid=1101710997702&aid=b8Uqulby-Co&fbclid=IwAR2I6pVMj5atJqJiP3FBJxUTVUxDEPUxqFEFBOz4G9Bi6_ssuEr5VDbI6Ls).

Someone has leaked the document to Mission: America. There is a link to it in their newsletter. They recommend you print the document, bring it to a public meeting of your board of education, demand an accounting, and demand that this particular “training” be immediately discontinued.

Oh, it’s full of the usual goodies! Gender “assigned at birth”–by whom? The tooth fairy? “Social Emotional Learning” (don’t ask!). The usual newfangled goofy pronouns made up by idiots. The “singular ‘they'”. And gems of 100% pure twaddle, like this: “It’s totally fine if your understanding of yourself [they mean your “gender”] shifts from day to day.” That doesn’t mean you’re cuckoo. It means you’re on board with the program. Indeed, it’s amazing how many “woke” and satanist cliches they can pack into one short document.

And it’s a secret! The defenseless public has to pay for it, but they’re not allowed to know about it. They just might sic the FBI on you, if you try to find out.

Down, down, down with public schooling!

Before it wrecks our country.

By Request, ‘Away in a Manger’

We have this Christmas hymn request from Susan–Away in a Manger, sung by 9-year-old Claire Crosby.

The melody she sings to is more common in Britain than in America. I keep running into that. I guess if I want to find the American melody, I’ll have to hunt for it.

‘Ontario, the Heart of Darkness’ (2017)

See the source image

You know what scares me? Trying to imagine the kind of world it’ll be with these kids all grown up after the schools have been indoctrinating them with lewd and crazy vileness for 15 years.

Ontario, the Heart of Darkness

I suppose we can pray that by the time they reach adulthood, millions of these children will come to loathe what they’ve been “taught” in school and demand an end to it. We can pray for that.

But in the meantime, can’t we at least remove our children from these so-called schools?

Please don’t think our public schools are any better than Ontario’s. They’re not.
