I don’t care for this rendition of the hymn, but my wife thought it was awesome. I yield to her judgment. Maybe you’ll like it, too.

How about Artificial Everything?
There’s a lot of euphoria in the air these days, inspired by President Donald Trump sticking it to Far Left Crazy. But the Bad Guys–who have had decades to solidify their position–will not go without a hard fight. Either they will not survive, or the rest of us will not survive. The war has only just started.
It will be a religious war.
AI (“Artificial Intelligence”) as a god? The worship of something created by human hands? A thing which promises “salvation” managed by Far Left kooks in ivory towers.
God help us, this blather is as old as the hills! Will we never outgrow idolatry? Who asked for a “Church of AI” and “immortality through AI”? And they can take their “Techno-Utopian Gospel” and feed it to the fishes.
Take nothing for granted. We have work to do! Work to do as God’s people. And we’d better do it well.
Yes, I know it’s not the Christmas season. But I was sick for this last Christmas, only got out of the hospital just in time… and only to go back again a little later. Whatever. My memory of that time is not reliable.
Good Christian Men Rejoice–why? The carol tell us why–because Jesus Christ is born. Born to save us.
Oh, keep that in mind! That’s our lifeline, and we mustn’t let go.
I used to cry when we sang this hymn, way back in Sunday school. It still does stir my soul: requested by Phoebe, sung here by Alan Jackson, The Old Rugged Cross.
I don’t know which is better: to be in the church when everybody’s singing this hymn–Christ for the World We Sing–or to be outside on the sidewalk on a lush green Sunday in the spring, listening to it.
Both are awfully good.
(Waddaya mean, posting a Christmas hymn on the second day of March?)
Two reasons. First, this was the first hymn that popped into my head today. And second: I almost totally missed this past Christmas, and I wasn’t all that far from dying. Certainly I had no strength to do up a Christmas tree.
I hope and pray we’ll all be well by the time Christmas rolls around again.
I’d hate to miss another one.
Michael W. Smith cuts loose! Our God Is an Awesome God.
I wonder who’s more afraid to see and hear this: Satan himself, or his legion of “progressives.”
Sing, America! Sing hymns of praise and glory! The Devil won’t like it.
I heard this hymn in a Midsomer Murders episode last night–a Welsh hymn, Calon Lan, praising the virtues of a pure heart. This is the Welsh Symphony Orchestra at work.
I found myself, yesterday, whistling this good old-fashioned hymn–Down to the River to Pray, sung here by Alison Krauss. We didn’t have anything like it in our dear old Dutch Reformed Church. Calvinists, were we.
But we all belong to Jesus Christ our King.
I haven’t posted this one in a while, have I? A Fanny Crosby classic from 1890–He Hideth My Soul. I’ll bet it’s in your hymnal. Sung here by the Antrim Mennonite Choir.
