An up and down day

First, I woke up tired.  That’s unusual.  Then right after lunch I fell asleep which is something I never do.  I had that crummy  have to catch-up feeling all afternoon.

A good thing did happen, though.  There was a fawn in the grass curled up about 5 feet from my apartment door.  We left him alone ( as you are supposed to) and he was gone later in the day.  There is a small herd of deer that hang out around St. Francis Cathedral, which is across the street from my house, and I’m  assuming he belongs with that group.  His mom probably came and picked him up.  I think I have a picture, but I have to play with it to see if I can get it on the computer.

The latest word on the man who was shot the other night–he is not in critical condition any more, but no word about the arm.  My friend and her husband will try to visit him in a day or two, if they are allowed to.

Aside from that, no news.

Have a good night, all.

God bless everybody.

From July 21, 2018

I have absolutely had it with leftids, their faces contorted in a snarl, their words being forced through clenched teeth, eyes popping out of their heads, calling normal people “haters” and bragging about how much they hate our hate, hate us, hate our country, hate our God, and just hate it like rug-chewing crazy when we don’t obey them.

And I’m fed up with Democrat governments, great and small, all trying to control every aspect of everybody’s life. These people are addicted to power. The least little taste of it makes them roaring drunk. Here in New Jersey they’re trying to get smoking banned outdoors–on the beaches, for starters.

All right, nobody wants to go to the beach and have to plod through a lot of cigarette butts. So you provide trash baskets. But we are talking about a “pro-choice” mob that does nothing but try to take away everybody’s choices. The only time they aren’t grabbing for power over others is when they’re asleep.

Sorry–I’ve spent a week covering nooze and it’s got my blood boiling. I need a rest.

I will now go outside and have a cigar before it starts raining, on this beautiful cool day. I will remind myself that I saw a whole herd of deer on my bike ride this morning–two spotted fawns, two females, and a young male with a starter set of antlers. And Patty has rented a good movie for us to enjoy this afternoon.

And I will try not to think about the nooze.

Lonely donkey finally finds a friend–a horse

This is an interesting tale.  I may have posted something similar before, but it’s a good story.

REPRINT ‘Why You Have a Problem With Authority’ (Mark Rushdoony)

Rebel against authority

“Viva yo!” (Spanish proverb)

From June 30, 2024

What could be simpler? Our problem with authority–especially with God’s authority–goes all the way back to Genesis 3:5: “ye shall be as gods.”

https://chalcedon.edu/resources/articles/why-you-have-a-problem-with-authority

We want to be as gods, defining good and evil for ourselves. As Mark Rushdoony writes, “Even churchmen are ingenious in devising theologies that discount God’s authoritative law-word in favor of their own.”

Don’t we see this every day? We ourselves are sometimes guilty. Maybe even often. How often do we hear the words, “But think…”? All the way back to Adam and Eve. And the serpent.

Obedience to God’s word, not man’s, justifies us and leads to spiritual regeneration and, eventually sanctification. God’s law is law, and it’s the same for every kindred, every tribe. But there are as many versions of man’s law as there are groups of human beings, most of them contradicting one another. That’s why so many of our laws are unjust–or even irrational.

But God’s laws are both just and sane.

A Shocking Message

Today I got a really shocking message from my friend in Florida.

You know how you can sort of know someone because a friend of yours talks about them?  You feel like you know them, personally, even though you have never met them.  Well my friend in Florida has a neighbor who has a long time buddy staying at his house while he’s home in New York.  These guys go back to Junior High as really close friends.  I feel almost as if I know this man because my friend talks about him all the time.  A nice guy who has helped them with their gardening and home repair stuff.  Let’s call him Joe.

Last night Joe was shot three times at the local MacDonald’s drive -through.  There is some confusion (a lot of confusion) about the circumstances.  Right now the police are calling it a “road rage” incident.  We know that Joe does not carry a gun.  The bottom line is that this man, once of the nicest guys you would ever want to meet is now in critical condition and may lose his arm.  There is no way this guy could ever be a threat to anyone.  Shot three times?  “Road rage” at a MacDonald’s drive through?  That sounds like attempted murder to me, rather than self defense.

As I say there is a lot of confusion right now.

What ever in the world is happening to our society?

I am in an absolute state of shock.

That is about it for today.

Have a good night, all.

God bless everybody.

Patty

I’ve played this before, but love it

I’ve never heard a dog try so very hard to speak.. I just love Buddy

RFK Jr.: “People in Authority Lie” REPRINT

From December 21, 2020

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. - Family, Career & Facts - Biography

(Thanks to Susan for the news tip)

Robert Kennedy Jr., nephew of President John F. Kennedy, son of former Attorney General and Senator Robert F. Kennedy, has hit the nail right on the head.

His father told him, he says, “People in authority lie.

“If we are going to continue to live in a democracy we need to understand that people in authority lie” (https://www.citizenfreepress.com/breaking/robert-kennedy-jr-issues-warning-on-covid-vaccine/).

Gee, ya think?

“People in authority,” he says, “will abuse every power that we relinquish to them and right now we are giving them the power to micro-manage every bit of our lives, 24 hours a day… These government agencies are orchestrating obedience and it is not democratic…”

How easily they’ve trained us to obedience! All it took was King Covid: do what you’re told, by us, or else the virus gonna kill you dead! Hence the mandates, one after another, the face masks, the restrictions on our worship services and family gatherings–Junior, you’ve hit the middle of the bullseye.
