Good News, For Once!

Our esteemed colleague Robert Knight reports that the little town of Knightstown, Indiana, pop. 2,100, has given the what-for to the left-wing atheist bullies of the ACLU (  http://www.americanthinker.com/blog/2016/12/aclu_sight_of_cross_on_public_tree_inflicts_irreparable_harm.html ).

It seems some atheist fat-head who didn’t even live there claimed he suffered “irreparable harm” when he drove through the town and happened to see a little cross atop the town’s Christmas tree. I wonder if he can see his reflection in a mirror.

The inevitable ACLU lawsuit was filed, and rather than be sued into bankruptcy, the town council removed the cross.

And so the people of Knightstown then provided themselves with hundreds of crosses and displayed them on their cars, store windows, and all over. Now you can’t go anywhere in Knightstown without seeing them.

This is wonderful news. All over the world, people are waking up to realize that they don’t have to take this anymore. The whole town does not have to knuckle under to some self-important idiot who wants to take away their Christmas.

We need much, much more of this! And maybe, by God’s gracious providence, the time has come for us to get it.

By Request, ‘Coventry Carol’

This somber carol commemorates Herod’s massacre of the innocents in Matthew 2:16-18–a reminder that there are evil powers in this world that will stop at nothing in their resistance to God’s plan for humanity’s salvation.

First published in the 16th century, this carol is probably a lot older than that. But its message has not gone out of date.

Performed by the King’s College Choir at Cambridge, requested by Erlene.

‘O, Little Town of Bethlehem’ (with Nat King Cole)

Come on, now–does this not stir your soul? The birth of Jesus Christ, our Savior, and the voice of Nat King Cole: O, Little Town of Bethlehem.

Well, here I am, all ready to post whatever Christmas music that anybody asks for. All I need is some requests!

I’ve Been Polled

Image result for images of stupid opinion poll

Wow, the Marist College Poll phoned me last night, soliciting my opinion on a myriad of issues.

I got kind of wound up, though, because a lot of the questions weren’t what I’d call honest questions. They contained presuppositions which I just wasn’t buying–and I had to tell them so.

For instance: “Do you consider yourself white, black, Hispanic, Asian, Native American, etc.?” If I considered myself black, would that make me  black?

And then there were a bunch of questions that had to do with “a person in the process of transitioning from one sex to another.” Hold it! I don’t recognize that as a valid category. No matter what they do to you surgically, no matter how stereotypically you try to mimic the other sex, no matter what hormones they shoot you up with–if you’re a man, every single cell in your body will continue to be male, with male chromosomes. But they kept asking, and I had to keep answering, “That is not a valid category, those people are not in fact having their sex changed, it is an imbecility forced on our society by very wicked persons.”

Some of the questions in this poll reflected a deep dishonesty that has crept into our very language, making it extremely difficult to speak the truth, and maybe even impossible, at times.

How dishonest? Let us not forget that some of these pollsters had Hillary Clinton winning big, big, big, right up into Election Night. They lied to themselves, and believed it.

I know a few individuals who lie to themselves. You probably do, too. How does that work out for them?

When Solon the philosopher saw the first play ever put on in Athens, he didn’t like it. When they asked him why not, he said, “All that lying–and in public, too! Now it’s on a stage, but sooner or later it’ll get into our business.”

Lying can be habit-forming. Ask any politician.

By Request, ‘Dancing in the Minefields’

I’ve got a doctor’s appointment this morning, so I only have time to post a hymn. Requested by Susan: Andrew Peterson, Dancing in the Minefields–a song about marriage, and about trusting in Jesus Christ Our Lord. Yes!

Cats vs. the Inexplicable

Ignore the title of this video. These are not “stupid” cats. No–they are cats trying to cope with things that are, well, very hard for them to understand. Clothes dryers and toasters–what sense is a cat supposed to make of them?

BTW, many people report their cats “fold” when they put a harness and leash on them to take them for a walk. But the shoulder harness and leash may trigger the “carry me” reflex that a cat has as a kitten, and his mother wants to carry him in her mouth.

I put a cat harness and leash on my monitor lizard once, so I could take her for a walk; but she bit the harness in half and clearly made known her disdain for the enterprise.

Wonder Woman Sacked (Guess Why)

Image result for sad wonder woman

I don’t know how you go about firing a cartoon character, but that’s what the United Nations has done–after first appointing Wonder Woman, who does not exist, a special ambassador for women’s rights. And now she’s sacked ( http://www.breitbart.com/news/wonder-woman-dumped-as-a-special-un-ambassador-after-uproar/ ).

It seems lots and lots of people complained about her appointment. Oh, it didn’t bother them that she’s only a cartoon. They didn’t mind it made the UN look sillier than usual.

No–the loudest critics of Special Ambassador Woman Woman objected that “a white, skimpily dressed American woman prone to violence wasn’t the best role model for girls.”

Oh, no, Wonder Woman’s white! And she’s not wearing a burqa! And she beats up bad guys, too! Three strikes, she’s out!

Actually, there are real persons who have been fired for being white, or just not hired, for that very reason. But gee whiz, you’d think a cartoon character could get away with it!

Oh, wait, I know! Wonder Woman’s not inclusive. Any role model for girls must be inclusive of those women who don’t have female body parts. You know–the ones that used to be called “men.”

These are the people who are running our culture, running our world… right into the ground.

And Another Little Thing They Did Wrong…

Image result for money being burned

In discussing the immorality that is the hallmark of Democrat government, we sometimes overlook one of its really quite obvious faults–

The insane over-spending.

It is a form of theft, it is a sin, to run up debts that someone else will have to pay. In eight years, the Obama regime managed to double our country’s already burdensome national debt. Those bills will have to be paid by our children, grandchildren, and generations yet to come.

Democrats don’t have a monopoly on incontinence, but they are the all-time masters of it. Trillions of dollars on our tab. Unfunded teacher union pensions totaling billions. Student debt totaling billions. Obamacare, totaling billions. The list goes on and on.

They spend money that other people had to work for, spend it before it’s even been earned, spend it before it’s even printed. They impoverish their cities, their states, and eventually their country. They enrich themselves: no one comes home poor from Capitol Hill.

Is it just because so many of them never had to work for a living, never had to do anything but politics, and are habituated to sucking wealth out of the nation’s veins? Is it because they really have no idea how wealth is created? Or is it just that they’re so used to exploiting us, they think it’s just the way things are?

All of the above.

This is something that has to be stopped, and stopped cold. We must elect leaders who will not do this any more. And Heaven help us if we don’t.

Entering the Danger Zone

We are entering a very dangerous time in history.

The enemies of the human race got their hands burned and their fangs chipped in our elections this year, and in Italy’s, and they are not going to give up and go away. As we speak, they are pouring money and effort into creating a legend that Russia hacked our election to keep Careless Clinton out of office and give the White House to Donald Trump ( http://www.foxnews.com/opinion/2016/12/12/sore-loser-obama-turns-to-russian-hacking-to-delegitimize-trumps-triumph.html )–because, you know, it’s just not possible the American people really rejected open borders, higher taxes, a stronger UN and a weaker America, and all the rest of what the Dems were selling.

Clinton, Kerry, Gore, Obama–they had a good thing going. But they stumbled badly in this election because they’d come to believe their own propaganda, and that made them overconfident. It was inconceivable to them that the American people might not be all that interested in that Citizen of the World crapola they were pushing, and have been pushing since the 1920s. Thinking they had it in the bag, they concentrated on enjoying their private jets, their palaces, their expensive little drinks at Davos, their limousines, and, above all, the rush of lording it over whole nations. So Election Night, 2016, was quite traumatic for them.

Suddenly they woke up one morning and discovered they held only four out of 50 state legislatures in America. Four! That’s only four more than the Whig Party controls. So they’ve really got to go to town now, or else wind up with zero.

Make no mistake about it: these people are determined, fanatically committed, to subjecting the whole world to their beloved “fundamental transformation.” They do not believe in God, and no moral scruple will restrain them. And they’ve got millions of mal-educated collidge students, tens of thousands of union thugs, a multitude of lawyers, and just about all of the “mainstream” nooze media to play with. Not to mention George Soros and a few other billionaires who’d like to have humanity as mere livestock.

They are not going to go away, they are not going to give up. If they can overturn this last election, they will. If they can’t, they can at least do everything in their power to taint and damage Donald Trump’s presidency. They will do all the harm they can, and they won’t care about the consequences. They are perfectly willing to subvert and destroy our country’s whole political system, if they can’t own it and control it.

This is dangerous, and we must be on our guard.

I don’t think Donald Trump is a man to be intimidated; but at the very least, we must make it clear to the whole world that we are solidly behind him.

One-world utopian leftism must be utterly destroyed–before it can raise up any more piles of dead bodies.
