‘Romance + Fantasy = Literary Vandalism’ (2016)
[First let me wish you all a happy Easter, on this holy day, Good Friday. I am trusting the Lord to let me get away with a bit of humor–in His service.]
Not so many years ago, there was a Perky Publicist who kept trying to get me to review his clients’ books. I never mentioned any of his authors by name, thinking it would be inhumane to do so. Bad enough they were was paying the publicist.
And every now and then, something like this would come along:
Yes, it was yet another Sexy Vampire yarn, the kind that might make you toss a week’s worth of cookies. The publicists have finally stopped bugging me, so I don’t know whether they’re still pushing Sexy Vampires With Goofy Names or not.
But as my editor pointed out, even that is better than Jobydin’s Transgender Inclusion Day–which he tried to glue to Easter.
Some of this stuff is not as funny as it seems at first.

Why do so many people seem to detest “the arts”? Could it be because the big shots in the art world are a lot of pretentious dindles who could tear down a whole civilization if they only got the chance?
Germany’s federal Ministry of Education, and the German Student Union, has awarded 54,000 euros in prize money to a wack-job facing trial for trying to beat someone to death with a hammer (https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2025/04/germany-far-left-extremist-trial-attempted-murder-awarded/). She is a proud member of “the Hammer Gang.” These are leftids who go around Europe attacking people.
The prize is worth a little over 61,000 U. S. dollars.
The prize “jury” calls her work notable for its “structural violence and power.”
Germany hasn’t been right since Tacitus was in knee-pants. As an ally it seems to leave something to be desired.
UK High Court: ‘Trans Women’ Are NOT Women
“Say it ain’t so, Joe!”
“Trans women” are not women and “trans men” are not men, the United Kingdom Supreme Court has ruled (https://nypost.com/2025/04/16/world-news/uk-supreme-court-rules-transgender-women-does-not-fit-legal-term-woman-in-landmark-decision/). And it was a 5-0 vote, too.
This has been rattling around in the courts since 2018. They thought it would all work out if they handed out [trumpet fanfare] Gender Recognition Certificates. Somehow that reminds me of… “How many legs would a sheep have, if you called the tail a leg?” “Uh… five.” “No: four. Because calling the tail a leg doesn’t make it one.” The witticism is attributed to Abraham Lincoln.
The case arose out of a dispute over Gender Quotas. The Equality Act says everything’s gotta be 50-50 men-women. But applying this to kooks who had their penises lopped off so they could “be women” proved to be intractably complicated.
When does this “trans” crapola come to an end? And is there a way for us to get there faster?
Memory Lane: ‘The Jones Boy’
This video of the Mills Brothers is from 1957 (holy cow, the Spike Jones Show!), but I think my memory of the song is older than that: The Whole Town’s Talkin’ About the Jones Boy.
We were visiting Grammie at the old house my father and his brothers grew up in. Dad put the disc on the record player–does anybody still have one?–and launched the song. He also produced two spoons and played them in time to the music. He was awfully good at that. But it must be 65 years since I’ve heard anyone play the spoons.
I sigh. Everyone who was once gathered round that record player–everyone but me–has passed away. I’m the last one left.
But God will restore what’s been lost; Our Lord Jesus Christ has said so.
Easter’s almost here, and we should remember that.

Far Left Crazy has had several decades to solidify its dominant position in our civilization–and they won’t give it up without a fight.
One of the hills they plan to die on is allowing men–alias “trans women” “assigned male at birth” you could cut the hypocrisy with a machete– to play in women’s sports. And somehow they always seem to beat regular women.
Now they’ve doing it with pool.

Yep. A United Kingdom women’s professional pool championship featured two men in the finals, playing for the title. They defeated all the women.
Who wants this? And why?
I don’t care if it’s only pool, and a player’s sex might not give any advantage.
What I care about is the bare-faced dishonesty, the insistence that we discard truth and embrace a lie, the insult to real women trying to make their way in sports, the whole process of knowingly pounding a lie into our societal foundations.
Oh Lord our God! Please remember that these things are done without our consent, against our will, and over our objections! Amen.

Life gets more and more complicated. We dive head first, eyes closed, into the pool of Artificial Intelligence… and expect to come out smarter. So everybody has to go to college. (It only hurts when I laugh.)
I got through the “higher education” stuff okay, but coping with all this technology has me talking to myself.

Will PBS and NPR be Defunded?

Congress is debating a bill to defund PBS (Public Broadcasting System) and NPR (National Public Radio) because of chronic bias and dishonest reporting (https://www.foxnews.com/politics/exclusive-gop-moves-defund-chronically-biased-npr-pbs-after-disastrous-hearing).
Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA), who chairs the congressional oversight committee, is leading the charge.
Bias? What bias? NPR’s editorial staff has 87 Democrats and zero Republicans. Oh… that bias.
“They can hate us on their own dime,” Greene said, calling PBS “one of the founders of the trans child abuse industry.” (Go ahead, libs–deny it.)
So put ’em out of business! The Internet has replaced them anyway.
