Speaking of Artificial People…

Martin Selbrede (my mentor) posted this cartoon on Facebook. It makes the point that too many people don’t get: “Artificial intelligence is not ‘intelligence’ at all!” It’s just a simulation.

Sort of like thinking hand puppets are alive because they “talk.”

‘Keep Your Loved Ones Sort of Alive Forever’ (2015)

They’ve had nine years to work on this. I wonder if they’re actually doing it by now.

Keep Your Loved Ones Sort of Alive Forever

God promises us eternal life by Jesus Christ. Science promises an inanimate simulation of “life.” Not real–just looks real! But who can tell the difference?

I expect some of my books will be read, somewhere, by someone, after I’m gone. That does not mean that I’m still here. And besides, what if you have no tweets, no comments on the Internet, no computer involvement, etc.? Does that mean you never existed?

It used to be they promised you a seance–that’d bring your loved ones back. Now it’s a lifetime’s worth of collected tweets and e-mails.

It’s so much more Scientific than a seance!

‘What a Friend We Have in Jesus’

I know, I know–I post this pretty often. But I feel a need for it today (hip is killing me, troubled sleep): What a Friend We Have in Jesus, sung by Doc Watson.

Listen closely. This is a hymn for our hearts.

‘It Is Well With My Soul’

Late again, and sorry! Didn’t get much sleep last night.

Is it well with my soul? I think the Lord our God has got that covered.

It Is Well With My Soul, by Horatio Spafford–who lost everything, in fire and in shipwreck, and still blessed the Lord.

More Good News: Revival

Auburn students rush into lake for impromptu baptisms as ...

The revival at Auburn U. featured an impromptu mass baptism.

(Thanks to Susan for the news tip.)

Gee, the in-the-tank-for-Democrats nooze media has completely ignored this story.

Tens of thousands of young people last month staged four Christian revivals on four different college campuses (https://decisionmagazine.com/salvations-baptisms-follow-large-gathering-at-u-of-arkansas/). Ten thousand here, ten thousand there. They came from 67 different schools.

This movement started only last year at Asbury University, Kentucky. Organized by “Unite US,” it’s been a dramatic success so far.

If three nimrods got together to campaign for Chiggers’ Rights, the nooze media would be all over it.

‘Teacher to 7th Graders: “Deny God or Fail”‘ (2015)

Mad Teacher Images – Browse 22,985 Stock Photos, Vectors ...

The teachers’ unions have your kids. That’s what matters.

Would you believe it’s been nine years since this story came out? I wonder if the, um “teacher” is still “teaching.” Remember, it’s almost impossible to get a public school teacher fired–no matter how outrageously they cut up.

Teacher to 7th Graders: ‘Deny God or Fail’

As icing on the cake, this incident occurred in the Katy school district… in Texas! Red state, Ted Cruz…it doesn’t seem to matter where you are. This is what “educators” do. All over the country. Government has shown no interest in putting a stop to it.

Yeah, it’s astonishing: but the “teacher” got away with it.

And our country is the poorer for it.

‘He Hideth My Soul’

Fanny Crosby wrote eight or nine thousand hymns. This is one of them:

He Hideth My Soul, sung by the students from Fountainview Academy during their trip to Hawaii.

Background sets by God the Father.

‘How Firm a Foundation’

This was the first hymn that came into my head this morning: How Firm a Foundation, by Charles Wesley, sung by Maddy Prior and the Carnival Band. God knows how we need that foundation!

‘Are Americans Ignorant of the Bible?’ (2015)

Ouija Board; Man and woman with hands on board seek message of spiritualistic or telepathic origin.

In 1950 70% of the children who were asked were familiar with the Bible.

Today… don’t ask!

Are Americans Ignorant of the Bible?

It required a major effort and much self-sacrifices, over a span of centuries, to make the Bible available to us as it is today. People died for it.

Four percent? That’s all? That’s our next generation’s commitment to God’s Word?

All I can say is that all the grownups in my family–parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles–did their part to see that my generation grew up knowing God the Father and Our Lord Jesus Christ.

I think we need to pray much harder.

‘Court Socks It to School Board’ (My Newswithviews Column, Oct. 3

The Boy in the Dress

They love experimenting on other people’s children!

“Compelled speech” is blatantly unconstitutional, and should be challenged wherever it creeps out from the shadows.

In West Point, Virginia, the school board tried to force a teacher to say things, and pretend he believe things, that he knew to be untrue. So he took them to court and won a bundle.

Court Socks It to School Board

This has to happen more often; and when it does, it should be the guilty parties on the school board who have to pay–not freakin’ everybody! A little personal responsibility might work wonders.

We never elected these dindles to run social experiments on our children–did we?
