We have a hymn request from Susan–Hymn of Heaven, by Phil Wickham.
The hymn shop’s open all day, every day, open to all. Some readers have been here for years without ever making a hymn request. Don’t be shy!

Our dear sister Erlene hasn’t been feeling well lately, it’s been a hard week for her–and I hope we will all rally to her in prayer. Please, Lord! Erlene has been your good and faithful servant for a long time, and now she needs healing. In Jesus’ name, O God, please be swift to help her!
And the hymn, He’s Still God by Carroll Roberson, is here because it’s one of Erlene’s favorites.
We’re with you, lady–with you all the way.
Honest, Phoebe and I did not consult about this first. But these odd little coincidences happen around here more often than you might expect.
I write of a dream about going to Hell; and Phoebe requests this from the 1955 production of Guys and Dolls–a song about going to Heaven. They make a nice pair of bookends, don’t they?
So we have Stubby Kaye singing Sit Down, You’re Rockin’ the Boat… Additional hint: If you find yourself on a boat going to Heaven, throw your dice overboard; don’t try to start a crap game.
This is a hymn that needs to be sung again and again, loudly–that the Lord might use His power, and save us: All Hail the Power of Jesus’ Name. What name will the enemy invoke against it?
Come on, everybody–let’s have some hymn requests.
(Sung by Blue Rock Mennonite Youth)
I found myself whistling this yesterday, and with no new requests coming in today as yet, well, why not? To God Be the Glory, performed by the students at Fountainview Academy. Background sets by God the Father.

We like to start every blogging day here with a hymn, and I like to post the hymns that you request. When left to my own devices, I’m afraid I tend to repeat myself and choose the same relatively few hymns again and again–because they’re my favorites. Light of the World, Hyfrydol, To Be a Pilgrim: well, what can I say?
I’d love to know what your favorite hymns are. I know it’s impossible to pick just one, so please feel free to list as many as you like.
I’ll keep track of the ones that are mentioned and will report to you which hymns seem to be the most popular. Don’t be bashful! If you only knew how hard it is to elicit a wide reader response… you’d wonder why I try. But I’m really interested in what you all have to say.
