‘Hallelujah Chorus’ at the Food Court

Here’s something they’ve taken away from us, under the guise of protecting us from King COVID–a flash mob at a Food Court, in 2010, breaking forth into the Hallelujah Chorus. No singing! No gathering! No showing your face in public! By order of the Governor! Mandate, mandate, mandate!

Have they finished us off? Will we never take our freedom back?

But we have a mighty Champion and Defender–Jesus Christ the Son of God, the Lion of the Tribe of Judah, our rightful King and only Savior.

God will perform His promises even if no mortal on the earth believes them anymore.

No mandate will hold Him back.

By Request, ‘God Rest You Merry Gentlemen’

If ever we needed tidings of comfort and joy, we need them now. And we’ve got them–in the birth of our Savior and our King, our Lord Jesus Christ the Son of God.

Requested by Joshua: God Rest You Merry Gentlemen, sung with gusto by the Bach Choir.

By Request, ‘On Jordan’s Bank’

Requested by Phoebe, On Jordan’s Bank, isn’t strictly speaking, a Christmas carol–but we do have to follow the Lord to His baptism, by John, in the River Jordan. We have it here by the Norwich Cathedral Choir in England.

O Christmas Tree!

We have a real Christmas tree every year. It’s a tradition. For both of us here, it brings back Christmas memories going all the way back to early childhood. And some of our ornaments, handed down by grandparents, are older than that.

But in recent years, most people have gone for artificial trees.

Until this year.

This year the word is that the demand for real trees is higher than it’s been for years (https://www.aljazeera.com/economy/2020/11/27/christmas-tree-more-americans-flocking-to-fresh-cut-evergreens). In fact, sales reached a new high even before Thanksgiving.

They’re trying to chalk this up to King COVID somehow, but I think the truth is more profound than that. And simpler.

This year, more than other years, we need Christmas. We need the family and the Christmas tree, and we need it all to be real, we need the carols; and above all, we need our Savior, Jesus Christ. We’ve been trying to get buy on fake stuff longer than is good for us. Our souls are starving. We need Christ to be born in us, in our hearts.

We don’t need any more fake nooze, fake elections, fake celebrities, fake science, phony world leaders–we’ve had enough, and we’re choking on it.

We need the Baby in the Manger–and His Father, the God who has blessed everything that is wholesome, sane, and decent.

‘Poland Recognizes Jesus Christ as King’ (2017)

Image result for images of jesus as king of kings

This happened in 2016; but our free & independent nooze media didn’t exactly shout it from the housetops, did they?

Poland Recognizes Jesus Christ as King

High officials of the church in Poland, with high government officials in attendance, formally consecrated their nation to Jesus Christ, proclaiming Him their sole and rightful king.

Can you imagine if someone dared to do this in America? Democrats would be levitating all over the landscape, like Linda Blair in The Exorcist. Faux Catholics among our politicians (I won’t mar the sabbath by mentioning their names) would be screaming bloody murder.

But they can’t stop us from personally embracing Jesus as our one and only king and Savior. Satan has never been able to stop it–no matter how hard the worldly power-brokers try to do it for him.

‘Just a Little Something to Think About: the Atonement’ (2017)

Sometimes you run into people who call themselves Christians but don’t believe The Atonement, the sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross, covers all our sins.

Just a Little Something to Think About: the Atonement

Oh, well, it’s only the heart of Christianity. Christ paid the penalty for our sins centuries before we were born. So where are those sins that are not accounted for?

And then you’ve got the churches that are la-dee-dah about it, even worldly churches: divest in Israel and do everything else that’s cool and with-it, and win the fallen world’s approval–and Heaven’s yours.

We do need to think more about these things.

‘The Via Dolorosa’

As Americans we have not grown up in a place where outrageous cruelty, publicly carried out by the state, is an everyday occurance. But in the Roman world of the First Century, it was. And Our Lord Jesus Christ was crucified. Not for any wrong He ever did, but for our sins.

The Via Dolorosa, sung by Sandi Patti, memorializes this. I don’t find it an easy thing to contemplate. I pray I never do. Better to be in awe of it than to take it for granted.

Bible Contradiction? Who is the first and the last? — The Domain for Truth

For today’s post we will tackle the question the Skeptic Annotated Bible asked: Who is the first and the last? Here are the answers which the skeptic believes indicate a Bible contradiction: God ““Listen to Me, O Jacob, even Israel whom I called; I am He, I am the first, I am also the last.” […]

From our friend, SlimJim, who’s been whacking away at the Skeptic Annotated Bible.

Jesus said, “I and the Father are one” (John 10:30). End of contradiction.

‘Jesus Said, “It Is Not for You to Know”‘ (2016)

Just before the risen Christ ascended to Heaven, some of His followers asked Him if now He was going to restore the kingdom to Israel. Now as in right now.

Jesus Said, ‘It Is Not for You to Know’

How many times did the Lord warn us that His return would take the whole world by surprise? What part of “It is not for you to know” don’t we understand? Really–as if the whole thing was only about setting up another kingdom in Israel. Like this time it’ll be different?

Christ’s business was the salvation of the entire human race, and only God the Father knows the timetable. Jesus said we would be taken when we least expect it, and urged us to live in such a way that we would always be ready for it.

But false prophecy has always been with us.

‘In Front of the Heavenly Tribunal’ (2015)

Remember, years ago, when hackers got into the files of the Ashley Madison Dating Service? Most embarrassing–a “dating service” set up to facilitate adultery.

In Front of the Heavenly Tribunal

Once upon a time even pagans knew there would be judgment after death. Unlike them, we have a defender and a savior, Jesus Christ the Son of God–without whom our sins would devour us.

But you can’t just keep pretending that they weren’t sins.
