Since I mentioned it in posting this morning’s hymn, I can’t stop thinking of something Charlton Heston’s astronaut character said in the original Planet of the Apes movie, in 1968. Soured on his own world, the astronaut has embarked on a one-way trip into the unknown because he’s sure that somewhere out there, “There must be something better!” Better than earth, he means.

Well, doesn’t that just speak volumes? Our whole benighted age in just five words!

But of course, what the oracles of this age say sounds completely different: “Sooner or later, we’ll have all the answers! Science will provide those answers. No more sickness, no more war, no more crime or poverty. Just give us the power, give us the money, obey us in all things–and the earthly paradise will be yours! Minus the heavenly paradise, though, because there’s no such thing…”

We have to listen a bit more carefully. What do they praise? Massive, all-powerful government. Homosexuality. Transgenderism. Sexual promiscuity. Abortion. Assisted suicide. “Open borders”–not that there’s ever been any such thing, but throughout history, the closer a country comes to it, the closer it comes to destruction.

Their earthly paradise is full of behaviors which, if pursued to their natural ends, result in death–even extinction, if everybody does what humanists say we ought to do.

So in their own way, they are proposing to leave the earth behind–if not by means of a starship, then by means of death. First everybody else’s; and then, like it or not, their own. All they that hate God’s wisdom love death (Proverbs 8:36).

But the earth is the Lord’s–and so are we. And so are we.

I Think These Clods are Scaring Me

I can’t stop thinking about the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climbit Change telling us what we’re gonna have to let them do, to Save The Planet. See, we’re all toast, burnt up by Global Warming, unless we give them the power to subject us to “societal changes that are unprecedented in scale” (https://leeduigon.com/2018/10/09/un-wackos-call-for-240-gallon-gas-tax/).

I lie awake o’nights wondering what particular “societal changes” they have in mind. You, too, can join the Insomnia Derby! Just imagine your life in the hands of the UN.

But what do they actually want to do to us? Compulsory homosexuality? Hospice grabs you the day you turn 40? Electricity reserved for Party members only? Compulsory singing of “We Are the World”? No more private home ownership?

Plus whatever they wind up doing to us, they mean for it to be “unprecedented in scale.” Y’know, there are some precedents in societal change that really shouldn’t be exceeded in scale: World War I and World War II, for instance. Or Mao’s Great Leap Forward.

Again, be thankful that we now have a president who has no interest whatsoever in sucking up to the UN Dictators’ Club. And the sooner he gets our country and our money out of the UN, the better.

Hey, *S*A*V*I*N*G  T*H*E  *P*L*A*N*E*T  from Global Warming/ Climbit Change is an expensive proposition!

This weekend, the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change called for a mammoth carbon tax, equivalent to a gas tax of $240 per gallon here in America–said tax to be accompanied by “societal changes that are unprecedented in scale” (http://www.climatedepot.com/2018/10/08/a-240-per-gallon-gas-tax-to-fight-global-warming-new-un-report-suggests-carbon-pricing/).

Uh, no thanks.

How crazy are these people? What have they been smoking or ingesting that prompts, even in their wildest dreams, such fantasies?

Be very, very thankful that Donald Trump’s our president. Obama would sell us out to the UN in a New York minute. So would any other Democrat.

Do not ever let liberals take power in America. Never again.

The Race to the Bottom (England Winning?)

It’s hard to find horror images that quite match up to the horror of this story.

How is the human race, in any imaginable way, supposed to benefit from this?

At a primary school in England, children six years old and up are being taught–well, I don’t know what they’re being taught–by having to insert themselves as characters into a “gay” fairy tale and then write “love letters” proposing marriage to another character of the same sex (https://www.lifesitenews.com/news/bbc-highlights-6-year-olds-forced-to-write-gay-love-letter-to-teach-accepti).

Oh, wait–it’s supposed to teach “acceptance.” Glad we’ve got that straightened out. In fact, this school, Bewsey Lodge, has won an “Educate and Celebrate” Award. Educate, celebrate… indoctrinate, deteriorate.

Why do parents subject their children to this?

St. Patrick was born in what is now England. Shows you how much things can change.

Is it necessary to state that if everybody actually practiced the Far Left Crazy virtues of homosexuality, transgenderism, abortion, and assisted suicide, there would be nobody left? Like, if we all did these things, we’d go extinct! So they must be bad, right? Huh?

But then isn’t that the point of the whole business?

Yes, right there in the middle of the nice cat video, you get a political commercial from Elizabeth “You Didn’t Build That!” Warren, aka “Faux-cahontas” for her fraudulent claim to be some kind of Native American princess. Yep, you’re trying to relax, and here she is to nag you.

Because she’s a Democrat, and Democrats cannot leave you alone. Liberals have an uncontrollable lust to control other people’s lives. And because they all think they’re the brightest bulb on the tree, they all feel entitled to break in on you at any time, whatever else you happen to be doing. You should thank them for finding time for you!

Deciding what is “unacceptable”

Y’know, covering news is just no fun anymore. Which one of dozens of equally depressing stupid stories do you blog about? Well, let’s try this one…

The “European Commissioner for Justice, Consumers, and Gender Equality” (oh, brother) says it may soon become necessary for government to “regulate” the media to keep out “hate” and “exclusion” and “a bad version of nationalism” (https://pjmedia.com/trending/eu-justice-commissioner-says-media-must-be-regulated-to-prevent-hate/). In fact, she says, government had better draw up plans for “smart regulation” of the things that people write.

Be very, very afraid of anything a leftid pitches to you as “smart.” And watch out when they talk about “justice,” too. Because their “justice” ain’t so just.

The media, you see, says the European Commissioner for Justice, Consumers, and Gender Equality, is very important in “defining the limits of what is unacceptable in a society.” Hoo, boy. Would you want Keith Olbermann or Rachel Maddow, or any other noozie jackanapes, deciding what would be “unacceptable” in our society? I’m sure they have equally nauseating counterparts in Europe.

Except under God, liberty is most emphatically not the natural condition of mankind–and these varmints certainly don’t see themselves as being under God. Someone’s always trying to devour our liberties.

And someone always has to stop them.

They don’t believe in a righteous God, in prayer, in the value of hard work or the rewards of innovation–so they have nothing left but Government. And the government, really, is them. The wise, the Experts, our betters. They will do all the things God should have done, but didn’t because He doesn’t exist. They will correct the injustices perpetrated by a random, chance-driven universe! Just give ’em all the power, all your money, and watch them create Utopia right before your eyes.

If we could just skip the part about the camps and the mass graves…

‘TERF’ Wars

Leftids devote massive efforts to making up new terms of abuse for those who disagree with them, or perversely refuse to live as “progressives” think they should. The latest coinage is “TERF”.

Now, I didn’t really want to know what that stands for, but my wife has told me anyway. I wanted it to be a kind of Smurf: after all, it rhymes. Well, the Smurfs are clear on this one. TERF stands for “Trans-Exclusionary Radical Feminists”–that is, feminists who refuse to call men “women.” Nor do they admit there’s any such thing as a “female penis.” Yikes, they won’t even concede that any man can get pregnant.

So “trans women,” who are still men even if they say they aren’t, are hissy-fit mad at feminists who won’t dance to their tune. It’s rather nice to see leftids feuding with each other. Maybe a steel cage match is in the offing.

I have never in my life seen anything like the Left’s fanatical push for “transgender.” As a revolt against reality itself, and against the God who creates and defines reality, this is an evil enterprise that’s poisoning our culture. It really must be stopped and turned back: God only knows how much harm it’s done already.

I shudder to think of what posterity will think of this current age.

Always trusting in the Lord to make sure there is a posterity.

Leftids make no secret of who they think they are–real smart people who are entitled to be gods–and what they want to do–take over the world and rule it as gods. We normal people have a very bad habit of not understanding that they mean it.

‘School Takes Kids on Field Trip to Sex Shop’ (2015)

It’s very likely that a parent who took her child to an “adult bookstore” or sex shop would wind up having to do some pretty fast talk for Child Protective Services.

Well, here’s an expensive private school–a Far Left crazy private school–whose director brought a whole busload of kids to the porn shop.
