Oh, Boy! No More ‘Hate’ in Cyberspace!

The cuddly commies at Google and Facebook are reportedly studying ways to ban “hate” and “extremism” from the Internet and social media ( http://www.theverge.com/2016/6/25/12029900/facebook-google-extremist-blocking ).

Ain’t that wonderful? And they don’t even have to tell you what constitutes hate or extremism.

Do you trust them to limit their definition to really bad guys plotting to blow people up? Might they not be tempted to outlaw all kinds of whatever they decide is hateful or extremist? Like the contents of this blog, for instance?

Again, the issue is religious. As Christians, we believe that the origin of evil lies within the human heart. But humanist wack-jobs think, “Oh, no, the human heart is basically good! It’s all that other stuff that needs to be re-engineered–our culture, our society, our social, political, and economic institutions. That’s where all the evil comes from! But not to worry–we can fix it. With Education and Science and plenty of camps for those who aren’t behind the program, blah-blah-blah…”

We can defend ourselves from this–but not if we allow Hillary Clinton to become our president.

Please think about that carefully, come voting time.

Who Has Disappeared the Children?

Image result for images of empty playground

I had an errand this morning, so I walked–downtown, and through some residential neighborhoods. It’s a beautiful day in June, sunny, with a gentle breeze; and school is out.

No children.

Well, all right: I did walk past a Montessori day care center that had a play area with a high fence around it, and I saw the tops of a few children’s heads when they climbed up the ladder for the sliding board. But other than that, zero.

I ask this every year. Why are there no children playing outside? Where are they?

They’re all indoors, in day care, in organized “programs” in which all their day’s activities are spoon-fed to them by adults. No spontaneous play allowed.

We raise our children as if they were ant larvae, in the care of strangers, starting virtually from the cradle and running all the way through school and–oh, Heaven help us!–college. Is it any wonder, if they develop a hive mentality?

This is not natural. This is not good. No child ever has to ask, “What’ll we play now?” No discussion among a small group of kiddies about what to play and how to play it. No experience, none at all, of making a decision. No experience of give-and-take. Just sit there and wait for some adult to tell you what to do and how to do it.

Is this any way to prepare for real life? How will any of these managed, regimented, carefully guarded children ever learn how to be free?

All they will ever have known is how to be managed.

I don’t like where this is headed. Do you?

‘Onward, Christian Soldiers’

Onward, Christian Soldiers–hey, can somebody give me an “Amen!” on this?

As we listen to this hymn, a certain flatline Protestant denomination has kicked off its annual General Assembly with prayers to Allah. I don’t think you’ll hear Onward, Christian Soldiers there.

Sing louder, sing louder.

Sanity Break: Sleepy Kittens

There have been times in my life when I’ve wondered whether kittens actually do sleep, ever. This video proves they do. At least a little.

Look, it’s been a hard week, and this video is intended to soothe us all. I mean, if this doesn’t relax you, I don’t know what will. I am wide, wide awake because I stillll have… got to….[clunk]… zzzzzzz….

The Absurdity of ‘Diversity’ and ‘Inclusion’

Image result for images of confused and puzzled person

I’m trying to make sense out of these twin pillars of liberalism, but it’s tough sledding.

Why must “diversity” be sought out and promoted as an end in itself? Doesn’t life just automatically yield a certain amount of diversity, everywhere you look? So why must it be set up artificially?

How do you maintain “diversity” among ideas and standards which mutually contradict each other? For that matter, why must all cultures, all ideologies, all religious beliefs, be “included” all the time? (Except for Christianity, of course: that’s the one thing that can always be excluded.)

If you must “include” everyone and everything, as all being equally valuable and praiseworthy, and valid, then what about those standards which contradict each other? Theism and atheism can’t both be true. One has to be false. The only way they can be “equal” is if both are false.

This boxful of tosh is the foundation of our Western ruling classes’ ideology.

By comparison, a foundation of mud or sand looks like an improvement.

The Religion of Our ‘Universities’

Image result for images of modern people worshipping idols

Let me say this (in love, I hope): for a Christian to send himself or his offspring to any one of most of our “universities” to acquire what they cynically call an education is a very foolish thing to do.

What you’ll acquire there–if you acquire anything at all, and are not left merely empty-handed–is an education into an alien and false religion–and a thumping great bill for it, too.

Consider, as just one example among very many, the University of North Carolina, and its “guidebook” listing a mind-numbingly vast number of “microaggressions” for students to avoid ( http://dailycaller.com/2016/06/25/university-of-north-carolina-christmas-vacation-is-a-microagression-now/ ). In addition to a host of ordinary, everyday, inoffensive actions and sayings, it warns students off paying any homage to Christian holidays.

They only do this because they’re hostile to the Christian faith and do everything in their power to get you to abandon it.

Ask these “educators” what they themselves worship, and you’ll never get an answer that makes any sense. An honest answer, if they were ever capable of honesty, would be, “Why, we worship our glorious and wonderful selves!” Which is too ridiculous even for them to say out loud, and so what they do is bow down to idols–Science, the state, and their “progressive” political ideology–which are extensions of themselves.

They also appear to worship something that may be personified as a Goddess of Failure. Libs ‘n’ progs aren’t interested in any public policy unless it promises a bumper crop of waste, shame, and futility–the more, the better. If they could find a system offering any more abject failure and cruelty than communism, they wouldn’t be Marxists anymore.

Hey, it’s your time, your money: your mind, your character, your soul. No one can stop you from pitching it all into a tar-pit.

But it’s quite a sad thing, to watch you do it.

‘Praise to the Lord the Almighty’

Enough of staring in appalled amazement at the daily news–let’s seek peace and refuge in praise of our Lord, the Rock of our salvation–“My goodness and my fortress, my high tower and my deliverer: my shield, and He in whom I trust” (Psalm 144).

This is the London Philharmonic Choir, plus some lovely illustrations of God’s handiwork.

God’s stuff works, even if ours doesn’t.

Sanity Break: Sweet Ducklings

See these babies following a dog, a cat, or human being? They have a very strong instinct to bond to whoever or whatever they learn to regard as their mother.

I once met a man who had raised two Canada geese from chicks. They were by then full-grown, and they still followed him everywhere he went. Didn’t fly south for the winter, either–not if it meant leaving Daddy!

Do you ever wonder, sometimes, what our pets see in us? If we could only live up to it! But we can try…

Reader Prayer Request

From Terry: “Wish I could have someone to help me…”

Terry, we’re not sure what it is that you need help with, but God already knows, and there are people here to pray for you, that you will get it. Amen.

When Garden Gnomes Attack

There are those who say that Garden Gnomes with pointy red hats are an unrecognized, under-reported, clear and present danger.

Usually they just stand there in the garden–when you’re looking at them, that is. You don’t see what they get up to when you’re not looking at them.

Here, in this offishul police video, we encounter some Garden Gnomes who had stolen a car and done a spot of joy riding. Watch what happens when the officers try to investigate!

Obviously this means our colleges and universities must, with all possible speed, establish degree programs in Garden Gnome Studies.

Their numbers are growing, and it’s only a matter of time before they… Well, I don’t know what they’ll do, but it’s bound to be bad.
