‘The Great Fear and the Great Faith’ (Chalcedon Podcast)

Why a Strong Network Foundation Is Needed to Support Emerging Tech | BizTech Magazine

Can anyone deny that the time we’re living in today is burdened with its own Great Fear? COVID, Climate Change, Systemic Racism–oh, woe, we’re all gonna die! Unless, of course, we give the government more power. And lots and lots more money.

But what is the answer, the antidote, to the Great Fear? Can it be shut off before it leads to a reign of terror?

Mark Rushdoony, Martin Selbrede, and Andrea Schwartz–my honored colleagues at Chalcedon–discuss that in this recent podcast:

https://chalcedon.edu/resources/audio/the-great-fear-and-the-great-faith-the-chalcedon-podcast-ep-19

It’s about an hour long.

The wicked and the ungodly are running wild today–and they are feeding off the Great Fear that they themselves have sown!

Asks Psalm 11, “If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do?”

Our answer: “Build Biblical foundations, founded on God’s word; and these will not be destroyed.”

‘Luke 10–Mary and Martha’ (Christian Blogger)

I think we can all feel for Martha, in Luke 10–doing all the work of preparing a dinner while her sister, Mary, just sits down and listens to Jesus.

Luke 10- Mary and Martha

But regardless of what else is going on, it’s terribly important to make time to hear the Lord. Jesus’ rebuke of Martha was gentle and loving–yes, He really loved this friend–but very much to the point.

We have this from the Unashamed of Jesus blog. Christian bloggers, I feel strongly, have to help each other to spread the word.

‘Reindeer Don’t Fly’ (Book Review)

See the source image

This is a book by our friend and colleague, Michael Riemer. I review a lot of books, and something about this title, Reindeer Don’t Fly, kept telling me that this was one of them. And lo, there it was on the Chalcedon website.

https://chalcedon.edu/resources/articles/book-review-reindeer-dont-fly

As I was growing up, “evolution” was a thing that went without saying–literally. I was out of college before I heard a single word against it. Heck, everybody “knew” that evolution was true, Darwin got it right–everybody knew that! You either had to be crazy or incredibly ignorant to believe otherwise.

Well, that’s changed.

Michael’s book will give you quite a few reasons to doubt the truth of Darwinism. Once upon a time, no one doubted it (trust me, I was there). Now there’s a great deal of doubt.

Once upon a time progressives, aka twits, who believed in Darwinism got away with passing themselves off as The Smartest People In The World. They still need taking down a peg–several pegs, actually–and Reindeer Don’t Fly certainly does that.

We should all join in.

Messianic Prophecy, With Trinity, in Isaiah 48: 12-16 (Christian Blogger)

Again we visit our friend Slimjim’s “Domain for Truth” blog, to examine a prophecy by Isaiah featuring, we think, the coming of Our Lord Jesus Christ, and an introduction to the Holy Trinity.

Fascinating: Messianic Prophecy and Trinity in Isaiah 48:12-16

How many times does Jesus say this in the Gospel–“the Lord God has sent Me”? But we hear it first in Isaiah.

There’s always something new to find in Bible study.

I display posts by fellow Christian bloggers because I think it’s very important that we help each other spread the word. There are those who try to hold us back.

Mark Rushdoony: ‘The Winning Side’

Mark Rushdoony: 'The Divided States of America' – Lee Duigon

Sometimes covering the nooze is like struggling through dense jungle where the only path available is the one you hack out with your machete.

But we have to keep our eyes on the prize, Mark Rushdoony reminds us.

https://chalcedon.edu/blog/the-winning-side-1

The message of all of Scripture, Mark writes is “Jesus Christ victorious with all sin and evil put down.”

And who, in 70 A.D., would have given two cents for the new Christian Church’s chances of survival? Who would have bet against the might and power of Rome?

It’s not easy to do, since today in many ways we are like those early Christians trying to live out their faith surrounded by the Roman Empire; nevertheless, that’s God’s word to us and we have a duty to believe Him. Death and evil loses, Christ wins. That’s where the story’s going, no matter how many twists and turns it takes to get there.

‘Luke 8-Legion’ (Christian Blogger)

In “Luke 8-Legion,” at the Unashamed of Jesus blog, we revisit Jesus Christ Our Lord as he heals a man possessed by a whole legion of devils.

Luke 8- Legion

The kicker is unexpected: having seen this miracle of healing–proof positive that Jesus is the Son of God–the people are suddenly afraid of Him and beg Him to leave!

Were they afraid of their own salvation? That’s something to think about.

Note: I continue to display work by my fellow Christian bloggers. Really, we have to help each other to get the message out. None of us can do it alone.

Strangled for Time

What with grocery shopping and having to take Patty to the doctor for a test, with a book that I have to finish writing before cold weather sets in, I don’t have much time today. So if this blog seems skimpy today, that’s why.

There’s all sorts of grotesque nooze I could report today; but someone else will do it, I suppose. I’ll try to write Joe Collidge when we get back from the doctor’s. You won’t read that anywhere else.

I’ve got to get outside now and use the 90-minute window available to my book today–90 minutes is all I’ve got.

Hey! While you’re here, visit the blog Archives. Go back and see what a mess 2016 was, or any other year.

Oh! a hymn request is coming in…

You’ve Got to Read This

They really ought to put this warning label on our public schools.

I just learned today of Debbie DeGoff’s website, “What’s Inside Children’s Books” (https://www.whatsinsidechildrensbooks.com/articles/what-in-the-world-is-going-on-at-the-schoolhouse/). She has analyzed and described, in detail, the toxic content of a number of public school… textbooks.

It is abominable. It threatens the very life of our culture. I mean, I thought it was bad, I knew it was bad–but I never thought it was this bad! Our public “educators” are doing everything in their power to indoctrinate America’s children into the transgender delusion and to convince them to get involved in every kind of sex act you can think of. As long as it’s not sex within the context of marriage.

You’ve got to click that link and read as much of this as you can stand. Then try to think of even one good reason why any parents in their right minds should ever turn their children over to the devilish lunacy that is public education.

Public schooling is a goner, polluted beyond all hope of repair. The things they, uh, “teach” America’s children are both evil and insane. There is simply no excuse for being part of it.

I pray America’s parents will find the courage to pull millions, even tens of millions, of their children out of public school. The whole system must be made to collapse. We are “educating” our country to death. And I don’t mean that as just a figure of speech.

It may be literally impossible to come up with anything worse than our public education system.

I continue to try to showcase posts by my fellow Christian bloggers. We need to help each other! Too many people out there trying to keep our message from getting out.

Kristi Ann also has a lot of Bible verses for us–the Good News of the gospel is the antidote to all the bad nooze we have to hear.

‘Luke 6–Jesus Is Our Rock’ (Christian Blogger)

I’m still saying Christian bloggers have to help each other. There are people out there who are trying to keep our message from getting out. They suppress our readership. But we can help each other by re-posting or re-blogging each other’s posts.

We have this from the “Unashamed of Jesus” blog:

Luke 6- Jesus Is Our Rock

Why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say? (Luke 6:46-48)

This is a serious question that Jesus asks, and you can be sure He’s still asking it today. Anyone can call himself a Christian–and then go out and ignore the Lord’s teaching… or even actively oppose it.

Jesus warns us not to build on sand, without Him as the foundation. He warns us not to put our faith in things of this world, because that foundation will surely fail us when we need it most.

But to build on Him, and on His word, is to build upon a rock; and that foundation will endure.
