Who’s next under the woke guillotine?

This story ran yesterday on Justthenews.com, where I saw it. But actually it goes back to January, so we’re almost three months late.

The National Park Service decided to remove William Penn’s statue from Philadelphia “to make it more welcoming… and inclusive” (https://justthenews.com/accountability/cancel-culture/erasing-history-park-service-ax-william-penn-statue-philadelphia-park). When this decision was announced, public opinion blew up in The Administration’s face and they had to back down.

William Penn… hmm… Pennsylvania… Could he possibly have had anything to do with the state of Pennsylvania, or are those names just a coincidence?

I’m sorry that I had to come to this conclusion, but events have forced me to it: I conclude that Democrats, liberals, teachers’ unions and the rest of ’em hate our country and want to bring it down. Erasing or defaming our history is very much one of their tactics. To the sane and decent Democrats that I used to know… well, I’ll bet you regret this as much as I do.

Stolen elections have consequences. Do they ever.

Woke School District Cancels Columbus Day

(Man, I’ve got to get some oomph today! I need to write my Newwithviews column, which I forgot to do last week. But first this…)

The Stamford, Connecticut, school district has voted, 5-3, to remove the Columbus Day holiday from its school calendar (https://nypost.com/2024/01/29/news/connecticut-school-district-facing-backlash-after-stripping-veterans-day-columbus-day-from-holiday-calendar/). While they were at it, they also canceled Veterans Day.

The reason given was that the school year is too long, so let’s get rid of these two days off. The public is not happy with the school board’s decision. And that’s putting it mildly.

Well, folks, the ball’s in your court. Keep your kids home on Columbus Day–what’s the school board going to do then? Better yet–keep ’em home, period. Don’t let the teachers’ union and a pack of self-anointed “educators” turn them into good little brainless leftids.

Statue-toppling and book-burning seem to stop whenever a Democrat slimes his way into the White House–almost as if these incidents were actually directed by the Party,

Only cowards and creeps make war on the dead. Democrats do it because they want us all to hate our country as much as they do.

Merciful heaven, I’m tired of this! They hate “hate” and I hate their hating hate.

God grant there’s enough of our country left next year to wipe out the Democrat Party forever.

They’re Rewriting James Bond, Too

If James Bond were real, there’d be some trouble over this.

Move over, Roald Dahl. Ian Fleming needs a seat on the bus to oblivion.

Willie Wonka, meet James Bond! By and by every fictional character in every novel will be rewritten… to accommodate a popular culture that goes from bad to worse by the day.

Yes, James Bond is being rewritten (https://www.denofgeek.com/movies/rewriting-ian-fleming-james-bond-books-what-is-the-point/). ‘Cause he’s “racist, sexist, imperialistic,” yatta-yatta. (Ask me if I care.) And the books he’s in might offend some chuckleheads out there.

They’re gonna remake the movies, too. Maybe what they’re looking for is a new James Bond who used to be a woman, eats nothing but plant-based foods, apologizes for the continued existence of Britain, and goes on and on about it until the very stones must weep for boredom. Well, they’re always remaking Bond movies. But rewriting the novels that the movies are based on–doing it when the author is dead and can’t defend himself–how much lower can it get?

I mean, come on–if you don’t like James Bond books, don’t read them. How is that so hard? Or would you rather sit up in bed all night because someone, somewhere, is reading James Bond and you can’t stop him? And your life as a liberal is incomplete because you can’t stop him.

How did we ever wind up letting these wretched people tell us what to do?

Cornell U: No History Allowed!

Abraham Lincoln and the Gettysburg Address

We’re not allowed to have any history. Recently Cornell Looniversity disappeared a plaque of the Gettysburg Address and a bust of Abraham Lincoln (https://jonathanturley.org/2022/06/28/anybody-here-seen-my-old-friend-abraham-cornell-silent-on-disappearance-of-lincoln-bust-and-gettysburg/).

Gee, what happened to the Gettysburg Address? Why can’t anybody see it? Where did it go?

The looniversity president offered no explanation, no answer, no comment. The most that anybody could find out was, “Someone complained.”

Someone who? Can anyone complain, and Cornell will oblige them? Not flaming likely. Let’s see someone “complain” about stocking the men’s rest rooms with tampons and “period products” and see where that gets you. Is there something in the Gettysburg Address that no sane or decent person would countenance?

Or is this just some more anti-American anti-sane and anti-decent Far Left Crazy horse-schiff?

Defund the colleges. They have gone on too long. Take away the money and be done with them.

What Is God About to Do?

For it is written, “I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.”  1 Corinthians 1: 19

This is the age of panic. Our entire ruling class–politicians, banks, big corporations, social media platforms, Hollywood, teachers’ unions and college professors–is stampeding to grovel before Only Black Lives Matter. They’re wiping out our culture: no more Aunt Jemima, no more Eskimo pies, no more Theodore Roosevelt statue at the American Museum of Natural History, no more history… One wonders if they mean to ban everything.

For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble are called… (v. 26).

There’s none of them left on our side, they’ve all rushed over to the Far Left side of the boat–a good way to make it capsize. The wise, the mighty, the noble; the rich and famous, the influential: they compete with each other to see who can be the most obsequious, the most servile, the most woke.

But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty; and base things of the world, and things which are despised hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are: that no flesh should glory in his presence. (verses 27-29)

So there’s no one left on our side but us. The little people, the nobodies, the deplorables. The ones they laugh at when they hunker down in Davos with overpriced cocktails. Whose only function is to pay taxes and do what we’re told.

It is well within God’s power and authority to bring this era to a close, to bring down the curtain with a crash; and when He does, it will be in such a way that no one will be able to attribute it to anyone or anything but Him. The Lord our God, strong to save.

They call the preaching of the gospel foolishness. They’d like to stamp it out.

Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men. (v. 25)

It’s going to be a bad time for those who have chosen the wrong side. Their visitation will not be infinitely postponed.

Erasing Our Past

Now here’s a statue you can really be afraid of!

Do you like the way leftids make war on the dead? They’re puffed up with courage when they go up against statues.

Now it’s the state of General George Armstrong Custer, in Custer’s home town of Monroe, Michigan, that they want pulled down ( https://www.clickondetroit.com/news/local/2020/06/09/petition-started-to-remove-monroe-statue-of-general-custer/). Most famous for being wiped out in Custer’s Last Stand, Custer also played a dramatic part at the Battle of Gettysburg.

So libs have gotten up a petition to have the statue removed. As one of their more articulate spokes-amoebas said, “All of us feel like if this is up, then we have no justice, we have no peace at all, honestly. It feels like it’s a threat to us, honestly.” Anybody who has to say “honestly” that many times is probably not honest.

What? Are they afraid the statue’s going to climb down from its base at night and stalk the streets? Why don’t they take up a collection to put up a statue of Crazy Horse, the victor at Custer’s Last Stand? He was a heroic figure. He deserves a statue. He deserves to be celebrated.

But no. G.A.C. is gonna murder them all in their beds or something, his statue is an existential threat.

Why do we let them rob us of our history?

I think to make us like infants, easily controlled.
