Prayer Request: Susan and Me

My friend and editor, Susan, is in the hospital with pneumonia and some as-yet undiagnosed afflictions. She hasn’t been healthy for weeks now, and she needs our prayers.We need her back in the front lines. Please, Lord, heal her! In Jesus’ name, Amen.

As for me, I went to the doctor this morning because my right leg  has pain and stiffness that wanders all around–knee, hip, groin, glute–and hasn’t been right since the summer. He will write me a prescription and we’ll give it a week to see if it works. So I need some prayers, too–as many as I can get. Please, Father, heal your servants! In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Scholastic spent rafts of money on this New Age, neo-pagan, condescending, two-faced twaddle, appealing to all that is worst in young readers’ psyches. Like, what could be more seductive than the idea that you have super-powers that enable you, 11 years old and weighing only 70 pounds, to wale the tar out of a full-grown man because he wouldn’t give you what you want?

Are they trying to groom kids to be psychopaths?

Scholastic Press–avoid it.

No one has requested any hymns so far today, so I’ll go with one of my favorites. Hyfrydol provides the melody a number of hymns. In our church’s hymnal, it was just “Welsh Hymn.” Here, by the Black Mountain Choir and the Welsh National Opera Orchestra.

Journalistic ethics–an oxymoron?–have gone way downhill since I was a reporter.

The Associated Press has received some $300,000 in foreign money (the KR Foundation, Denmark) to train reporters to be “community activists on climate change” (https://freebeacon.com/media/ap-quietly-reveals-donation-from-foreign-group-that-trains-journalists-as-climate-change-activists/). And then they wonder why so many of us don’t trust the nooze media.

KR has donated similar gifts to quite a few nooze sources and NGOs–gotta get rid of those fossil fuels, dontcha know.

What it boils down to is so-called “journalists” taking money to report the (ahem!) “news” in certain ways. Some would call it “lying.” I would.

Surely in the running for one of the most disgusting news stories of 2023.

Our Carol Contest Winner (I Guess)

I posted a carol one morning, just to get the ball rolling in our annual Christmas Carol Contest. “The Hallelujah Chorus,” 26 views that day–I didn’t know it yet, but I had just won my own contest.

So give the prize to the runner-up. Sorry! That would be “Anonymous.” Gee, thanks, WordPress.

My records are not adequate to this challenge. I had to estimate who would’ve come in 3rd if I’d actually been keeping track of third place. I will now announce the contest winner. If you think I’ve got it wrong, don’t bother to tell me.

Why are Democrats so jumpy lately? Haven’t they already shown they can rig any election in their favor? Don’t tell me they’re losing faith in mail-in voting!

A Scent of Pushback in the Air

Have they begun to sense our anger? Usually they just laugh it off: “Peasants! What do they know?” But they wouldn’t be going so hard after Donald Trump’s scalp if they didn’t think he could win back the White House–and then, boys ‘n’ girls, the fun’s over. Then comes payback time.

We will never accept their agenda. The more we see of it, the more we loathe it. We will not let them impose it on us.

It’s so hard to learn from morons!

So you pay a fortune for an “education” that leaves you just as ignorant, four or five years later, as you were when you first came through the door. Maybe more so.

All over the country, “higher education” is responding to a crisis in performance by drastically lowering the standards.

Our Colleges: Dumbing It Down

Someday they will close the circle. People who know what they’re doing will age out and be replaced by ignoramuses. Mass idiocy will be the basis of our nation’s economy. Those who can’t do… will simply have to pretend that they can.
