My aunts used to sing this as they went about their housework, and it was the first hymn that came to my mind today, so here it is: Sweet Hour of Prayer, sung by Alan Jackson.

Requested by Thewhiterabbit: Great Is Thy Faithfulness, sung by the Blue Rock Mennonite Youth. Background sets by God the Father. A nice compliment went with the hymn request–so thank you, Dave.
I never heard this whole hymn before. The Incredible String Band borrowed a line from it–“I ain’t got no home in this world anymore.” Mis-applied it, of course. I think we’ll be happier with this version by Joshua and Jeremy.
Oh, that lovely snow! Don’t mind me, I love snow. And summer always looks its best in the middle of the winter. And vice-versa.
I’m not doing nooze today, it’s our anniversary; but I am doing a Christmas carol in August, and I’ll post an Easter hymn before the month is out.
So here it is–Good Christian Men Rejoice, sung a capella by the Wissman Family: old, but still glorious.

It’s our 46th wedding anniversary and we are surrounded by electronic doodads that just don’t freakin’ work. At the moment it’s our phone.
I have it in my mind not to cover any nooze today, try to take it as a holiday. We have crab cakes set aside for supper. I was scanning nooze yesterday afternoon and wound up just bagging the whole thing. So much crap going on, I couldn’t imagine where to start. Where do you even begin?
Have you noticed the media’s Two Takes on Biden? Fascinating. Take One: Biden is great, his presidency is great, and he will easily beat Trump. Take Two: The guy’s a disaster–who do we have to replace him?
And that’s all I want to say about that today. Let’s take a peek at the movies.

Name the jidrool–and win a tin foil hat!
I wish I had a dime for every time I heard some jidrool invoke “separation of church and state” as a reason for the state to stomp on Christians. I’d buy an ice cream truck.
Honestly–why do these people go to Christian websites and complain about “religious content”? Uh… because they get away with it? Because PBS will give you a lollipop if you do? “Yahoo! ‘Comments removed’!” I guess they didn’t have a drag queen story hour to go to at the moment.
We don’t censor even our enemies who crave the power to censor us right into a forced labor camp. We believe their side can’t stand up to truth. Go ahead, try to prove me wrong.

Good heavens! Forty-six years ago, that was: we drove down to Elkton, Maryland, and got married–August 8, 1977. After the ceremony we went fishing.
What are we gonna do to celebrate? Oh, I don’t know. Neither of us feels like going anywhere. I’d love a visit to the Seaside Boardwalk–with somebody else driving. Tool many kamikazes out there on the Parkway.
But we will have crab cakes. That’s a once-a-year treat. Whatever we wind up doing will probably depend on the weather.
I hope God knows how thankful we are to Him for bringing us together.

Open at your own risk! (If you can)
I run this post every now and then as a way of charting our country’s progress toward failure. Back in 2015 it was an over-the-top satire. Now…?
It seems in Oregon you can’t get life-saving treatment for breast cancer unless your mind is right about Transgender. If you ain’t for it, they think you don’t deserve to life. “They” being the state’s medical authorities.
We knew it would go this far.
And now the question is, How much farther?
Requested by Thewhiterabbit–and it wasn’t easy to find, but here it is: What Is the World to Me? The video doesn’t tell us much; but you can make out the individual voices of whoever’s singing it. Anyhow, a nice Lutheran hymn.
My wife thought she heard me listening to this hymn, this morning. I wasn’t: and yet my stats board showed four hits for it. To Be a Pilgrim, by John Bunyan, sung by Maddy Prior and the Carnival Band–yeah, okay, heed the promptings of the Spirit.
I’ve also discovered a version by Joshua and Jeremy. If I get some calls for it, I’ll post that one, too.
