According to the Colorado Democrat Supreme Court, voting 4-3,  President Donald Trump can’t be  on the ballot as a presidential candidate because of the so-called “insurrection” of Jan. 6: a shabby interpretation of the 14th Amendment disqualifying anyone who’d fought for the Confederate States.

But General Wade Hampton was elected governor of South Carolina in 1876, served a four-year term, and was then elected to the U.S. Senate, where he served till 1891.

Huh? What about his role in the Civil War? Well, a general amnesty granted in the 1870s took care of that.

Another Confederate general, William Cox, a secessionist from way back, was elected to and served in the House of Representatives.

But now Donald Trump can’t be on the Colorado ballot because of some overstated, tempest-in-a-teapot “insurrection”? When these two men, who led armies against the United States for several years, appeared on their states’ ballots and were elected, and served? Did the amnesty only apply to Democrats? And by the way, did Trump lead any armies?

As usual, Democrats–and the political stooges on the Colorado court–have erected a tower of hypocrisy. And they fully expect to get away with it.

May the LORD Himself confound them.

As the Almighty State’s hatchet-men labor to destroy President Donald Trump, somehow the nation seems to have forgotten that from 2016 through 2020, every single day, every Democrat in America, plus all the creeps in Academe and the nooze media, insisted that Trump’s victory in the 2016 election was illegitimate and should be overturned.

Doing the exact same thing they now demand that Donald Trump be imprisoned for!

I don’t remember any instance in my lifetime of Democrats not trying to invalidate any election that they lost.

I pray the LORD will intervene: we need to see some justice done.

Democrats are the biggest hypocrites on earth. Every day and night for four years, they tried to undo Donald Trump’s presidency. Here we are, four years later, and they’re still after him, trying frantically to railroad him into prison so he can’t be president again.

And he is charged with trying to cancel an election!

As a public service over the next couple of days, I’m going to rerun posts written just after Election Day, 2016, featuring assorted Democrats in full-blown “Election Denial” mode. You know–the very thing they scream at us.

First we have the San Francisco teachers’ union.

SF Teachers: Teach the Kiddies That Hillary Won

Teach the kiddies that Hillary won, and then when they go home and see on TV that no, Donald Trump won the election–just say “We’re not counting it because Blank-blank Trump didn’t win, he colluded with the Russians” etc., etc.

I have encountered public school teachers who said it was okay to knowingly teach children things that aren’t true, if it made them feel better about themselves.

Open that door just a crack and see what lies come in.

They didn’t have to vote on Martha’s Vineyard–just kicked ’em off.

Well, that didn’t take long, did it? Just this morning they called in 125 National Guard troops to take some 50 illegal aliens off the posh Democrat island of Martha’s Vineyard–sorry, campesinos, no sanctuary here (https://www.toddstarnes.com/politics/breaking-marthas-vineyard-deports-illegal-aliens/)! But don’t worry, we’ll just ship you to some safe place among the plebs. Then you can hunker down and wait for free stuff from the government.

They weren’t on Martha’s Vineyard for a week before they were kicked off the island.

Texas’ Gov. Abbot has been shipping his illegals to New York and Chicago, whose Democrat mayors, after repeatedly declaring that theirs were “sanctuary cities” for the illegals, have been yowling about a “humanitarian crisis” which, of course, is of their own making. Florida’s Gov. DeSantis shipped his to Martha’s Vineyard–a stand-up-and-cheer act which libs and their toadies in the media have denounced as “a political stunt.”

Meanwhile Kamala Babble insists “our border is secure.” What a whopper! The Regime has burst our southern border wide open. They created this crisis. But they want small-town America to pay for it.

 

 

How Democrats ‘Support’ Free Speech

Authoritarian Far Left statists though they are, Democrats are still reluctant to admit that they would like to scrap the Bill of Rights–especially the right to free speech. We all know that they believe that free speech should only be for speech that they want to hear. Everything else would be “hate speech” or “disinformation,” for which you should be severely punished.

Even so, the latest Democrat mantra is “We support free speech…” And then there’s a “but” or an “as long as” which negates their support of any freedom.

Here are a few of the most popular caveats and add-ons. Each sentence starts with “We support free speech,” or even “Of course we support free speech!”

*”As long as it doesn’t cross the line.” (What line? It usually turns out that only the Dems know where that line is.)

*”As long as it’s used responsibly, with respect for all.” (Are they kidding? The day they show respect for anyone, they’ll be six feet underground.)

*”But it must never be used for disinformation.” Unless Democrats speak to deceive us; then it’s okay.

*”But misinformation does real harm, and must be curtailed!” Again, unless they’re the ones spouting the misinformation. Then it’s okay. But for everyone else, the penalties for simply being wrong must be really harsh.

*”As long as it doesn’t trample on anyone else’s free speech.” (You have to shut up because some trans performance artist had a tantrum when he real your blog post.)

You can see where this is heading. They’d love to be able to jail you for Climate Change Denial, mis-gendering, or laughing at John Kerry. But until they’re able to do that, they’ll have to be content with herding you toward the open jailhouse door.

Schumer Warns GOP to Go Easy on Biden Court Pick

Go ahead… tell me this is not a pretentious clown.

I read this nooze story yesterday, after I’d stopped posting for the day–and waddaya know? The story is nowhere to be found today.

I think in journalism class the lesson is called Burying News That Makes Democrats Look Like Swine.

So… Steverino Breyer is retiring from the Supreme Court (it seems they made that decision for him) and SloJo gets to nominate his replacement. And Sen. Chuck Schumer, head of the horses’ ass committee, has warned Republican senators to go easy on Biden’s nominee, or else.

Good grief. This raises hypocrisy to a whole new level, higher (or lower!) than anyone would have imagined possible.

Remember, uh, Brett Kavanagh–one of Donald Trump’s nominees? Remember what the Senate Democrats did to him? “He raped me at a party somewhere, I think it was forty years ago, I don’t remember where…” They only stopped short of shooting him. Accused of everything but cattle-rustling. As he took the oath of office, leftist wackos hammered on the door, trying to break in.

Schumer’s stooges, all of them.

We have already been told, by the (oh, boy) “president,” that the new Supreme Court justice must be, above any and every other consideration, a black woman. (I don’t capitalize the B-word because I try not to be a suck-up.) Wouldn’t it be nice if we didn’t pick Supreme Court justices on the basis of skin-deep external characteristics? And maybe it’s just me thinking so… but how is this not demeaning to black women–to say nothing of making appointment to SCOTUS an exercise in frivolity?

But what the heck, the story’s gone, they made it disappear, they can easily deny it.

And they will.

Talk about in-your-face hypocrisy! Democrat governors have made it a way of life. Never mind going down in history: this is downright legendary.

New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy, in the midst of the year’s biggest “COVID surge,” took eight days off for a nice vacation in sunny Costa Rica (https://nypost.com/2021/12/29/phil-murphy-blasted-for-costa-rica-trip-amid-covid-surge/). He sez he needed to spend time with his family. Everybody knows you have to leave New Jersey to do that.

Well, come on, folks–you know those restrictions and mandates are for you, not them. You are here to provide them with amusement. In return, they’ll tax you.

Murphy did the same thing in August, hopping a private jet for a ten-day junket to sunny Italy.

And he was re-elected!

Makes you wonder about elections, doesn’t it?

Back when you were in school, did any of your teachers ever “teach” you anything that they knew to be false? Well, okay, as a kid you wouldn’t have caught them at it. But I have met teachers who admit to teaching falsehoods. “If it makes the kids feel better about themselves,” they add.

And here are the unionized teachers in San Francisco in 2016, trying to “teach” children that Hillary Clinton was president: “Don’t teach them that we LOST,” says the teachers’ guide. Waddaya mean, “we”?
