Say hey! Are you ready for a “mileage tax” (https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2023/06/multiple-states-weigh-charging-residents-every-mile-they/).

Several states (Oregon, Virginia, Utah, and Hawaii) are already on board–gotta keep that revenue coming in. And The Regime is talking about imposing a federal mileage tax.

Of course, they’ll have to install some kind of doohickey in your car to keep track of how much driving you do. Are we headed for “the Hunger Games”? “Oops, you’ve driven enough this month! We’re going to have to turn your car off, remotely. Try again two months from now!”

Always trying to grow the government, aren’t we? How big, how powerful, how costly does it have to be before we cry “uncle”?

Thucydides had this figured out over 2,000 years ago.

Remember that quotable quote from the Vietnam War? Yes, someone actually said it.

The sentiment marches on. Just last week, the legislature of Ireland took up a bill to restrict the living daylights out of free speech (https://www.zerohedge.com/political/we-are-restricting-freedom-common-good-irish-green-party-calls-limiting-free-speech). The purpose, said the Green Party gargoyle who is pushing it, is “To Save Democracy” by restricting speech.

How restrictive do they mean to be?

Well, they’re talkin’ (still allowed to talk, provided you’re a member of the Green Party and the chairman approves of you) about censoring–oops! that’s now “content moderation”–any speech that makes any person in any protected class to feel… “DISCOMFORT.” Wow, how about that! Dude, you just caused me discomfort! Doesn’t count–you’re a white male.

Thucydides was right. If there’s any self-destruction to be had, “democracy” will run to embrace it.

Trying to Catch Up!

We must never, never, never, never forget what our glorious Rulers did to us, under the pretense of battling COVID-19. We must never, never, never allow them to do those things to us ever again. No! No Mandates, no lockdowns, no masks, no social distancing, no freakin’ police state that busts you when you forget to wear your mask but stands down whenever there’s a riot.

Those abuses have not yet been paid for.

Actually, liberals kinda liked all those COVID mandates–wear masks everywhere, “social distancing,” empty shelves, and, best of all, mail-in voting!

Why We Need Mandates

As we speak, Democrats are on the prowl for another New Disease you never heard of so they can shut us down again in time for Election Day 2024. But don’t worry, we’ll still have our presidential election! Mail-in ballots, the “Open, Sesame” of voter fraud and stolen, crooked elections. Wow! Biden re-elected! Those last four years were just great!

Are they really, truly, going to get away with that again?

Britain’s Got the Answer: ‘Controlled Spontaneity’

The flowers were made ready in advance… just in case they were needed.

Back in the early 70s I knew a street theater troupe whose leaders spent the day doping out “planned spontaneous happenings” for the evening. Like a group shower, for instance. I had hoped never to encounter such an absurdity again… but today it’s a major project of the UK government (https://www.middleeasteye.net/news/mind-control-secret-british-government-blueprints-shaping-post-terror-planning). The MEE news article is kind of long, but stick with it: it’ll blow your mind.

The object is to “control terrorism” by controlling the public’s response to it. So everything–and I do mean everything–is mapped out in advance, to be put into action within minutes of the next terrorist attack. Everything’s all set to go–the banners, the signs, the flowers for the dead, the chatter on the Social Media. George Orwell would gasp to see it: “By Jove, this is exactly what I wrote about!”

It’s hardly the Magna Carta, is it? No–it’s a plan for the total, down-to-the-minute control of public opinion and its expression.  That its very name is an oxymoron does speak volumes–eh?

“Let freedom ring.”

Not if the British government can help it.

WEF Wants Rewrite of the Bible

You can’t say this villain is hiding what he wants to do.

Some things never change. The psalmist said this some 2,500 years ago: “The idols of the heathen are silver and gold, the work of men’s hands… They that make them are like unto them; so is everyone that trusteth in them” (Ps. 135: 15, 18).

What’s that–a Bible verse? Well, children, don’t get too attached to it–because The Smartest People In The World, the World Economic Forum, is thinking about replacing the real Bible with a new one “written by AI,” Artificial Intelligence. A Bible rewritten by a robot.

They’re very high on this! “AI can create new ideas; it can even write a new Bible,” gushes Yuval Harari, one of the WEF’s leading lights. Why, we could create “unified religions that are actually correct”… whatever that means. Mix ’em all up? But idiots have been doing that for centuries. Yuval needs to get out more.

But why would anyone want to do this?

Yuval ain’t bashful about his answer: “to manipulate and to control people and reshape society.”

We can’t say they’re sneaking up on us.

So You Want a ‘Smart Home,’ Do You?

Okay–who out there did not know that this would happen? If that’s you, take your head out of that hole in the sand.

So the Amazon delivery guy, wearing headphones, thought he heard some forbidden remark from the customer’s “smart” doorbell; so he reported it to Amazon, they decided it was Racist… and shut down the whole shebang (https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/amazon-shuts-down-customers-smart-home.2392704/).

Locked out. No lights. No air conditioning. No phone service. The poor devil was locked out of his home for a week! Because some delivery guy thought he heard something that mighta-coulda been Racist. Betrayed by a wonky doorbell and a delivery man too lazy to take off his earphones so he could hear things clearly.

Is the lesson here that Amazon can do anything to you that it pleases? Or just that having a “smart home” is really pretty stupid? It’s not a court of law, you know: they don’t have to prove their case, and you don’t get any opportunity to defend yourself. “That feller thought you said…” is enough to get your locked out of your home. You can’t appeal the decision.

Freedom, liberty–if the government isn’t lusting to take it away from you, many major corporations are.

Stanford U.: A Funny Way to Save Democracy

Ah, the looniversities! They’re gonna get together to Save Democracy! (Didn’t Woodrow Wilson already do that? Or was that the abject failure that led us all into World War II?)

“How are they going to do that?” I hear you ask. Well, I don’t hear you, but you get the point. How are Stanford and Georgetown and Rutabaga U. going to Save Democracy?

Silly question! The answer is obvious. “Censorship!” It’s censorship, conducted by Far Left academics, that will Save Democracy and lead us to Utopia (https://threadreaderapp.com/thread/1666864855087976448.html). They call it “Project Liberty” (it only hurts when I laugh). Its stated goal is to “govern” how us plebs get information.

Threadreaderapp.com has requested interviews with 50 of these nabobs and only ten bothered to answer at all. It turns out they don’t like to answer questions. Guess we’ll just have to trust ’em, eh?

A recent poll by the Cato Institute finds one out of three Americans, 30 years old and under, supports the idea of installing government cameras in private homes (https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2023/06/3-10-young-americans-mostly-democrats-support-government/)! For our own good, of course–for “protection and security.”

Better watch what you say over the dinner table! Big Brother is now your uninvited lodger.

Some 2,000 people were polled, for what it’s worth. Really, you’d think nobody would want the government spying on them indoors at home. But that would be to reckon without the toxic influences of public education.

If they could install a widget in our brains to monitor our thoughts, they’d do it in a New York minute.

Are we so anxious to erase our freedom? Do we want to be kept in a state of perpetual childhood?

Government needs to be taken out to the woodshed.

I trust we understand this temptation: “Hey! Wouldn’t it be absolutely great if the common schlubs had only the rights we say they have from day to day? Wouldn’t it be great if we could just tread them down whenever we felt like it?”

The governments of the world succumbed to this temptation. It was The Great COVID Pandemic, and it made them drunk, roaring drunk, on a taste of unchecked power.

France Goes Full-Throttle for Censorship

This is a dynamic of history: Someone is always trying to wipe out everybody else’s freedom. Usually it’s the people’s own government. It can be a foreign enemy, bent on conquest. Examples of both abound–now as much as ever. No sooner was the Internet invented than wannabe tyrants devised ways to use it against us.

Only God believes in human liberty.
