Christian Blogger: How to Think About ‘Woke’

7_questions_christians_should_think_about_and_ask_concerning_woke_claims

Our friend and colleague “SlimJim” has a thoughtful essay on questions Christians should ask about “Woke.” It’s a lot more thoughtful and careful than I would ever be, dealing with this exasperating topic. But then he’s a real minister and I’m not.

7 Questions Christians Should Think About and Ask Concerning Woke Claims

I’m inclined to write ’em off, “If you’re woke, you’re a joke.” But Jim goes much deeper than that and you should probably listen to him instead of me. “Woke” individuals may sometimes be pointing to real problems, real wrongs, that ought to be addressed.

I salute Jim for his patience.

I’m On MeWe Now

Okay! Thanks to Weavingword, with a little boost from SlimJim, I am now on MeWe and I’ve just made my first post there. I have no idea where this is going to take me. I’m trying to rally Christian bloggers to fight the censors by reblogging or linking to each other’s posts, and I hope MeWe can be part of that.

What I should be seeing is referrals from MeWe. At least, that’s what I think I should be seeing. But it’s very easy for me to go wrong when dealing with computer stuff.

Soon I should be able to put all my blog posts on my MeWe page.

A big part of taking our country back has to be to break the Big Tech oligarchs’ stranglehold on social media.

And get those incredibly wasteful and harmful “colleges” and “universities” defunded!

Christian Blogger: Verse of the Day

This comes from Kristi Ann’s Haven. It’s her “Verse of the Day,” Ephesians 4:32–followed by other verses.

Now, what if other Christian bloggers, reading this, decide to reblog it or link to it on their own respective pages? The post gets more views, and censorship is weakened–not to mention God’s word gets preached!

They can stifle us one at a time, but I don’t think they can stifle us all at once.

We should at least try.

Enjoy Kristi Ann’s post, and let’s support each other!

Christian Blogger: ‘Don’t Quit on Sundays’

Have you ever wondered what it’s like to be a pastor? Our friend SlimJim shares his weekend schedule:

Busy Ministry 1st Weekend of June 2021 and thoughts on 2 Timothy 3:16

“Busy Ministry” is right! This pastor’s schedule makes me think of my mother’s old pastor, who came to her house to console us on the death of my father… and fell asleep in the chair. Really, he couldn’t help it! He’d been a pastor for a very long time.

Anyway, it’s not all standing at the pulpit, preaching. I wonder how many of us even suspect how hard our pastors work.

We really ought to show our appreciation.

Calling Christian Bloggers–Rally!

Old North Church & Historic Site

I’m sure I’m not the only Christian blogger who’s seen his viewer numbers take a nosedive recently. I’m convinced there are Big Tech bad guys out there trying to silence us–trying to silence all opinions but their own, because that’s what the Left does.

Well, it’s time we helped each other!

I’m going to find other Christian bloggers and share their posts on my page, so that more readers will see them. Imagine if every post you put up were to appear on five other blogs. Now we’re getting somewhere.

I chose that picture of the Old North Church in Boston, with the statue of Paul Revere, on purpose. Our independence is again at risk, with the threat seeping out from Silicon Valley. Today’s redcoats work for Google et al.

No, we do not want to be governed by “experts” and elites! We ought to be governed by the Word of God, and by just laws passed by our elected representatives after due debate in public–not by one “mandate” after another.

Christian bloggers, rally to each other! We’re all in the same boat now.

They Couldn’t Silence the Apostles (Acts 4)

I’m going to try to share with you a post by our esteemed colleague at unashamedofjesus.org . I don’t have Reblog anymore, so wish me luck.

Acts 4- Believers Prayer

In Acts 4, in the very earliest days of the Church, the religious establishment in Jerusalem tries to silence the apostles and put a stop to the new-born Jesus movement. The Bible tells us how that turned out.

Christian Blogger Visits the 1960s

I don’t think our friend “SlimJim” experienced the 1960s for himself; but I did, and his essay is thoughtful, penetrating, and right on target. Give it an attentive read.

Post 2020 World Being Like the 1960s?

I was in college for the anti-war movement, bomb threats on campus, hippies, drugs, “love”–whatever they meant by that–and the whole daily circus of “protests,” which were mostly virtue signalling, tumult, “days of rage,” and organized hypocrisy. Jimmy sees much the same happening in our country today; and he sees churches setting “woke ideology above the Bible.”

The Sixties bled into the Seventies and then seemingly bled out when Ronald Reagan was elected president.

But now they’re back. And for whatever my memory is worth… they’re worse.

From Kristi Ann’s Haven

wkahjs

Can we go to Kristi Ann’s Haven? I used to reblog from there a lot, before they took away my “Reblog” and “Share This” functions.

Let’s try. Here goes.

https://kristiann1.com/

Of course, I have to finish posting the post before I can see how the link worked. If it did, then you’ll be able to visit Kristi Ann for uplifting Bible verses and insights.

Fingers crossed…

Christian Blogger: Pray for College Choice.

Hold your breath and let’s have a drum roll, please. Will this work?

This Sunday at Church: Pray for someone’s decision of which college to attend next school year

This is from our friend SlimJim’s Domain for Truth blog. WordPress took away my “Reblog” function, then took away “Share This,” so I’ve been wondering how I can share the work of my fellow Christian bloggers on this site.

The method I’m trying here is way less user-friendly than I’d like, but I’m hoping it’s better than nothing.

To My Fellow Christian Bloggers

Mourning Dove Identification, All About Birds, Cornell Lab of Ornithology

I have for years enjoyed sharing, with my readers, posts by other Christian bloggers. It pleased me to think I was widening their audience, and you all seemed very happy about it.

But now I can’t share your posts, and it’s not my fault.

First WordPress took away my Reblog function. Something about “you’re on a business plan, you’re not allowed reblog.” Then I discovered the “Share” button, that little symbol that looks like this >, and as long as I was sharing Christian posts that appeared on my Reader, it was just as good as a reblog.

But yesterday I was told I don’t have “Share” anymore–because the hoozit isn’t shebangled with the booscus and a hay-na-nonny and a ha-cha-cha. Oh, they’d let me have “Share” if I used their brand-new totally-impossible-to-understand “Block Editor.” I’ve seen it. I couldn’t use that if my life depended on it.

I have tried to explain to the WP Happiness Engineers. “This is your technology, not mine. I am just a passenger–and you don’t ask the passenger to come out of the plane and do maintenance on the jet engine. You need to be more user-friendly!” They say they’ll see what they can do, to allow me to Share even if I’m using the standard editing format that I’ve used for years. Betcha if their boss told them to find a way or else, they’d find one. But I’ll be very much surprised if they actually solve my problem for me.

So, guys, that’s why I’m not sharing your posts anymore: I want to, but I can’t. They won’t let me.

All I can do is keep pestering WordPress about it.
