Hey! Remember this little tidbit from the last Democrat regime? They were gonna put “government monitors”–translation: a good squad–in the newsrooms to make sure they got the kind of coverage they wanted. As if that regime ever got anything but the most fawning, obsequious, boot-licking praise from our Free & Independent Nooze Media Inc.
They wound up not doing it because word of the scheme got leaked from the Federal Communications Commission before the regime was ready to launch. There was a public uproar and the plan was scrapped… for a more propitious time.
My Newswithviews column this week, “Republican Cowards,” had to do with… well, Republican cowards.
I got a lot of emails about this, almost all of them enthusiastically agreeing with me. But there was one bad apple in the barrel.
This guy said he hoped the FBI would swoop down on me for sayin’ these bad, bad things. Free speech is one thing, he said, but… this? Way out of line! You just can’t say things like that!!! Unless, of course, you’re a Democrat and the president is Donald Trump. Then there’s absolutely nothing you can say that’s out of bounds.
I grew up thinking I lived in a country in which I had a God-given right to free speech, that the government had no power to take away from me. Why did I think that? Because everybody said so. Because the First Amendment to the Constitution, the law of the land, said so. Right there in black and white, for anyone to see.
Now we’ve got all these characters out there–almost all of them Democrats–who think the government should restrict the content of Americans’ speech. They think you should be free to say only things approved by the government. And woe unto you if you don’t!
This is alien to America, it is not American, it has crept into our culture from somewhere outside, then hatches into a parasite that attacks us from within.
But hey! That’s what President Trump’s no-longer-in-office “impeachment” trial is about, isn’t it? Show the proles you can’t buck the ruling class, even if you’re a billionaire like Donald Trump. Throw a scare into us! If they can do this to him, what chance have I got?
How things change! When I was undergoing “orientation” to prepare for Rutgers University, every other word out of their mouths was about the glory, the glamor, and the absolute sheer necessity for… Dissent! It was an end in itself, it was the highest civic virtue, and anyone who doesn’t dissent is a villain and a dastard. Etc., etc.
Let’s see how much dissent they tolerate, now that they’ve got their monkey in the White House.
This is no time for sitting around waiting for the mythical Righteous Candidate to come along. How can I stress it strongly enough? If the Democrats win this election, America is over. Kaput. Finished.
I say that based on the things I hear them say and the things I see them do. They sponsor and encourage street violence. They never allow themselves to be restrained by law or common decency. Their proposed policies, e.g. the Green New Deal, are suicidally insane.
When they succeed in packing the Supreme Court, as they have said they’re going to do, there will be no law to stop them from doing anything they please. And what pleases them is tyranny.
You see what they do on college campuses. They would like to do the same everywhere else: no more First Amendment. You’ll say what Black Lives Matter tells you to say, or suffer really nasty consequences. Jail time for using the “wrong” pronoun. Jail time for “climate change denial.” But a free pass if you’ve robbed a store or torched somebody’s car. Most of the criminals will be let out of prison. Normal people will be jailed in their place.
Sweetheart deals with Red China will destroy what’s left of our economy. But that’s OK with Dems: people are easier to control when they’re poor and demoralized. As long as John Kerry gets to keep his private jet, who cares what chunks of America get sold off to enemy countries?
If you have to crawl over broken glass to vote for Donald Trump, do it. Apart from the sovereign will of God, this president is all we have standing between us and the destruction of our republic.
Once upon a time, this would have been unthinkable in America–forcing people to sign a “pledge” endorsing a political doctrine that they don’t believe in. As in “Sign it or else!”
Thanks to our America-hating educational system, it’s unthinkable no more.
All over the country, colleges and universities are forcing students and staff to sign pledges of support for the “Black Lives Matter” movement, a violent Marxist revolutionary group (https://americanpeopledaily.com/blm-agenda-liberal-universities-forcing-students-to-sign-pledge-or-else/). Some 150 law schools have told the American Bar Assn. that you shouldn’t be able to practice law until after you’ve completed “antiracist training.”
Wait! Stop! Hold it right there!
By requiring Americans to “take a stand against racism,” the Far Left turns it into a given that America is a racist society. They no longer have to prove it: it just is. They no longer have to win the argument. “Given that America is this evil racist society, what has to be changed about it?” This is an illegitimate and totally dishonest question.
It is not a racist country. And we are damned fools for allowing ourselves to be cowed by a bunch of commies, and not sticking up for our country–and meanwhile half the world is willing to do just about anything they can to come to this racist hell-hole… gimme a break.
These colleges and universities are actively undermining America, and using America’s hard-earned money to do it, and it flaming well has to stop. Or are we just going to wait until they tear down our republic and turn us into Venezuela North?
Take away the money! No more money for these wretched people! Stop the funding!

Late last week I read a news story about some college requiring its students to “align” with Only Black Lives Matter–a blatant and outrageous violation of their First Amendment rights–and an anticipated lawsuit over it. At the time I wasn’t able to cover the story.
Now, less than a week later, all trace of it has vanished from the Internet, and no search yields anything but posts dedicated to cheerleading for the Marxist/racist group that has the whole freakin’ country buffaloed. No one dares criticize BLM! ‘Cause if you do, you’re a racist. Yeahbut, yeahbut! Critical Race Theory sez I’m a racist anyway, no matter what I do, whether I support ’em or not. So why bother?
Shut up, they explained.
Boy, are we an easy touch when it comes to giving up our liberties! As a nation we seem devoid of self-respect. We won’t stick up for ourselves. We sit there like potted plants while leftids abuse and dishonor our country.
One more Democrat government, and America is over.
Here’s another one of those things that our country simply has to stop doing.
We all know freedom of speech doesn’t give you the right to yell “Fire!” in a crowded theater; but how did it ever wind up meaning that you have to say certain things, or else? Because some fat-head judge said so!
When did “tolerance” become the official religion of the United States, towering triumphantly over every other consideration?
What do we have to do to get our freedom back?
Joe Collidge’s little essay didn’t make it onto the ol’ social media today.
“Your message couldn’t be sent because it includes content that other people on Facebook have reported as abusive.”
What bunk. No “people” had time to read it, let alone “report” it. As for being “abusive,” well, they routinely run content that I find very abusive.

Google and YouTube are already censoring conservatives, but at least one Democrat in Congress wants them to do more of it.
Rep. Kathy Castor, Florida Democrat, has sent a letter to Google/Youtube demanding that they ban “climate change denial” but good (https://www.mrctv.org/blog/fascist-tactics-revealed-dem-congresswomans-letter-asks-google-censor-climate-change-skeptics?fbclid=IwAR2CIYqE1gBwe8OqqTjmvKlZvi79wOLoIFszeqc8CFpXRZXprVgtZZjdLag), and has given them till Feb. 7 to “take action.” She left out what would happen to them if they didn’t.
This budding Stalinist sits on a Select Committee on the Climate Crisis–they presume there is a “climate crisis,” and that anyone who questions it should be silenced–and has told Google (which owns YouTube) to a) remove offending videos, b) ban all forms of “climate misinformation,” c) stop monetizing new videos that don’t follow the party line, and d) “correct the record,” which I interpret as a demand that Google itself do more to preach the End O’ The World.
You won’t believe what happens to our freedoms if Democrats ever again gain control of the federal government.
A judge has issued a restraining order against New Jersey’s shiny new assisted suicide “law,” which went into effect this month (https://www.catholicnewsagency.com/news/new-jersey-judge-temporarily-blocks-assisted-suicide-law-99687).
A doctor sued on the grounds that the “law” violated his religious freedom and First Amendment rights. Ya think? It only says that a doctor who won’t help a patient kill himself must refer the patient to a doctor who will. So they’re telling you what you must say, even when you believe it’s wrong. Is there a First Amendment in the house?
Democrat Gov. Phil Murphy, who enthusiastically signed the bill into “law,” said it was a hard decision for him because he’s “a lifelong, practicing Catholic.” Hey, you need to practice harder, sunshine. He and his attorney general have pledged to fight the restraining order.
After all, assisted suicide, euthanasia, abortion–these are all favorites of the Far Left death cult, most of whose members are Democrats.
After a great deal of low political chicanery in the State House, Murphy and his pals got what they wanted, and New Jersey became the seventh of eight states now permitting doctor-assisted suicide.
Until a judge let the air out of their balloon.
Hopefully the cheap tricks will be undone and the “law” overturned. Meanwhile, thank you, Judge Innes.
