Lessons to be Learned… if We Can

As we all sit around stalemated by the Wuhan Chinese Communist flu, it’s to be hoped that we at least learn some lessons from it. Like for instance:

Relying on Red China is folly. Everything we get from them has a sting in it. They are not our friends. Buy from civilized people, not from communists.

“Open Borders” is an idea whose time has never come and which is now totally gone. Just imagine what would happen to us, disease-wise, if we had a government that stubbornly refused to close our nation’s borders.

We don’t actually need all those colleges and have been wasting our money on them. We can more than get by without Gender Studies. The whole idea that everyone should go to college was ridiculous from the git-go.

We also get a lot less value from our public schools than we ever realized. Just how badly to we need teachers’ unions and gender counselors, anyway? I’m guessing not at all.

A ruling class of globalist elite schiff-heads is not smarter than us. If anything, it’s even dumber. They did a lot to make this mess.

Come to think of it, our own professional governing class is something less than a national asset. Maybe it’s time to re-think the whole business of who gets to run the country.

Actively and loudly rooting for the stock market to tank, rooting for the plague, because they think these disasters will destroy President Trump and boost them back into power, Democrats have shown that they are America’s enemies. They do not wish us well. C’mon, people! That mask slipped off more than a year ago. Wake up.

If we can learn these lessons, we will be a stronger country than we were six months ago.

Some guy on Politico thought this would be a good idea: elect someone who’d be above the president but not have any power–just a kind of figurehead, for everyone to love.  Stop laughing! He was serious.

Unfortunately for his idea, he never quite figured out how this beloved figurehead ought to be chosen. Libs and moral imbeciles would want some Democrat. Heaven forbid.

Maybe a national lottery, excluding anyone who’s had any role in government at any level? “Our new Beloved Figurehead–Mrs. Margo Sawatski from Saginaw, Michigan!” Or maybe a fictional character would be better. If you could find one that half the people didn’t hate.

Would you trust today’s media not to turn any fictional character into an annoying, preachy, left-wing scold? Betcha they wouldn’t know how to do otherwise.

Something tells me we’re going to see and hear things this election cycle which will make 2016 seem like a church service.

Politics at Its Worst

This whole technique of “divide and rule,” setting people at each other’s throats, is what keeps the Democrat Party in business. As long as whole groups of citizens hate and fear each other, the Party is alive and well.

Please remember this: They don’t care what happens to our country, as long as they come out on top.

That must never happen again.

Dems Love… Communism?

They booed God at their national convention.

And last night they booed one of their candidates for saying communism “doesn’t work” (ya think?).

Here’s what former NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg actually said: “We’re not going to throw out capitalism. We tried that, other countries tried that. It was called communism, and it just doesn’t work.”

Moans and boos! Boo, capitalism! That was the audience.

What do they actually want? “Democratic socialism”? But what is that? A Soviet Union with Democrats in charge, probably. They want free stuff. It isn’t really free, someone has to pay for it, but they don’t know and they don’t care. It’s really an immoral mind-set. And it doesn’t create wealth, but destroys it. The Soviet Union collapsed, and Red China, while keeping the communist label, turned to fascism. Even fascism works better than communism.

As someone who grew up in the 1950s and 60s, it’s just about inconceivable to me that any political party, except the Communist Party itself, would ever consent to serve as a haven for communists.

Chalk that change up to public education.

That’s who’s responsible for Americans defending communism.

Dem Debate: Blah-blah-blah

You don’t need me to tell you about last night’s Democrat “debate.” And if you missed it, here’s some video of a penguin rookery. Same thing, only shorter.

I’m starting to get a creepy feeling about these events. They’re starting to look and sound like TV game shows, washing out any serious civic purpose that they might have ever had.

We have a problem in this country with voters who don’t understand what a president is, or what a president’s supposed to do. So they’ll vote for some nothing candidate because he or she belongs to their own identity group. But then you look at the debate setting and you wonder if anybody takes this seriously at all. Maybe it really is just a kind of popularity contest. Maybe it doesn’t matter which goof gets elected.

In a dangerous age, in a fallen world, our political process is turning into a farce, a comic opera. They tell us to keep our eye out for the moderate Democrat. What moderate? There’s no such thing. Every one of them’s a Far Left wacko.

That Democrat National Convention this summer ought to be really something. Something like a penguin rookery where all the penguins go mad and try to kill each other.

More and more, I’m coming to believe that the crazy public policies imposed on us by Far Left Crazy politicians are purposely intended to bring the country down.

I mean, they totally ignore all warnings, all hazards, don’t they? No matter how insane it is, just bring it on!

Why would they want to collapse our civilization? Two reasons I can think of.

To rebuild some half-assed utopia on the ruins.

To give themselves an excuse to “restore order” by setting up a totalitarian state with themselves in charge.

Those are evil reasons, and we are living in an evil age.

There are things that a lot of people don’t know, that they ought to know. Ignorance may be bliss, but its fees can be quite high.

Government has no money of its own. It only has what it can extract from the people by fees and taxes. As Margaret Thatcher famously said, the problem with socialism is that you run out of other people’s money. And just printing more of it doesn’t solve that problem, but only makes it worse by cheapening the currency.

The United States is, by law, a republic, not a “democracy.” In fact, the problem isn’t not enough people voting, but too many people voting. One is tempted to raise the voting age to 50. Adopting new public policies in hopes of making America “more democratic” only leads to policies derived from ignorance.

Fomenting racial discord, as a means of acquiring and keeping a political advantage, in the long run hurts everybody. Trust me: this is not how you build a stronger and more stable country. But it does seem to be a good way of opening the door for tyranny.

There is no such thing as “transgender.” There is male and female, nothing else. Making like there are several dozen “genders” can only lead to laws and policies based on a denial of reality. It has to stop.

It is not possible for any government to control everything that people do, or don’t do. If morality and conscience are not in play, the government will fail. Trying to manage everything is a good way to wind up managing nothing.

Just try getting any Democrat to admit to even one of these.

 

‘Special Tactical Agents’ Sent to ‘Sanctuary Cities’

“Sanctuary” is such a nice-sounding word; but when libs use it, they’re talking about making America’s cities law-free zones for illegal aliens–many of them criminals.

So President Donald Trump is doing something about it: deploying 100 “special tactical agents” from the U.S. Border Patrol to “sanctuary cities” to help enforce our country’s immigration laws in the face of open and boisterous defiance on the part of city officials (https://www.breitbart.com/politics/2020/02/14/report-trump-deploying-elite-tactical-agents-to-10-sanctuary-cities/). At the same time, Attorney General William Barr has filed lawsuits against these cities for attempting to nullify federal immigration laws.

The goal is to increase the number of arrests by 35 percent.

Wailing and gnashing of teeth by Democrats.

Why is enforcing our country’s immigration laws controversial? These are laws duly enacted by Congress over the years. They have not been repealed.

But leftids see illegal aliens as a source of illegal votes, to help them get back into power and keep power indefinitely. It’s part of that “fundamental transformation of America” that they’re so high on. Transformation into what, you don’t want to know. Pray we never find out.

The president is doing the best he can to defend our laws and our borders, which is his duty. He’s also trying to keep the campaign promises that got him elected in 2016.

“Open borders” is a prescription for the destruction of our country.  Democrats don’t care if they destroy it, as long as they can rule it.

Crush them in November. All of them.
