Well, we’re paying for this now, aren’t we?

Corrupting the Bible: Galatians 3:28

All those years of adding to, subtracting from, bending, twisting, and mutilating God’s word, the Holy Bible. Turning it into man’s word and stripping it of its power to save.

Now the wicked bend their bow, the ungodly run wild, fully convinced their time has come and they’re going to take over the country.

At least now they’re out in the open where we can see them–if only we refuse to wear the blindfold.

‘In Christ Alone’ (New Video)

This hymn was knocking at my door all day. Here’s a new video by Keith and Kristyn Getty, with an assist from Alison Krauss. I keep thinking the waters are the Sea of Galilee. Well, they might be, at that.

Cats & Toasters: Vendetta

If you’re going to be curious about things that are just bound to scare you… you’re probably a cat. Some of the cats in this video look like they’ve been shot out of the toaster.

Our cat Buster wasn’t hard to startle. Just drag your foot on the floor as he was walking past: he’d practically do a somersault. But he always tried to make out like nothing at all had happened, he was cool, he hadn’t jumped out of his skin. The personification of aplomb.

A Warning from History

Street executions in China, 1920s

Some hundred years ago–there are still a few people alive who were alive then, so we’re not talking ancient history–the American Museum of Natural History sent Roy Chapman Andrews to China to organize scientific expeditions. Andrews and his wife rented a house in the capital city of Peking.

This period of Chinese history was characterized by endless turbulence, mostly violent. Here is a snapshot of it, an eyewitness account, from Andrews’ book, Ends of the Earth (1929).

“Every change in the local political aspect in any part of China produces a series of executions. The new gentleman in control proceeds to rid himself of all those who might make trouble by the effective method of a firing squad or the headsman’s knife. For a week or two the grisly business goes on. Often the heads are hung on telephone poles in various parts of the city or exhibited in small bamboo cages as a warning to others.

“Usually the executions are performed at certain definite places but sometimes they happen right in the middle of the street. I cannot forget one day when looting started in Peking only a short distance from my house. The authorities in charge of the city had given very definite instructions to the gendarmes charged with maintaining order. I was driving up a broad street… when a terrific commotion started in three small shops. A dense crowd blocked the way. Suddenly there was a rush and four men were dragged into the street by a dozen gendarmes. They were made to kneel almost in front of my car while one of the police lopped off their heads in less than three minutes. It was done so quickly that I hardly knew what was happening and it certainly did stop the looting. The bodies were left in the middle of the street for three days.”

Our own cities are drawing perilously nearer to this. This is what’s in store for us if we keep going as we’re going. And it’s the Democrat Party that will take us there.

Bonus Hymn, ‘Joyful, Joyful We Adore Thee’

I heard this, faintly, as I was posting something else; and then nothing would do but to hear it clearly: Joyful, Joyful, We Adore Thee. Music by Beethoven, sung by the Mennonite Hour Singers–and sets by God the Father. The combination never fails to bring me close to tears of joy.

Our God is an awesome God, and the wicked shall not conquer.

Now They’re Coming After Kids’ Shows

Kidscreen » Archive » Spin Master, Nickelodeon unleash PAW Patrol movie

Can’t you just feel the racism?

In the latest scene of the Far Left’s concocted dog & pony show, rumors are a-swirl that the popular kiddie TV show, Paw Patrol, is about to be cancelled because it’s “hate” ever to show police–even cartoon police–in a good light (https://decider.com/2020/06/11/is-paw-patrol-being-cancelled-protests/).

But Paw Patrol‘s producers brought it on themselves, pre-emptively declaring “solidarity” with the racist/communist group, “Black Lives Matter” (except if they’re being shot by other blacks). “We will be muting our content,” groveled the producers, “until June 7th to give access for Black [why the capital B?] voices to be heard so we can continue to listen and further our learning.”

Could anything be more shameful? Are we back in Red China in 1968?

In the wake of the producers’ prostrating themselves to a bunch of communist race hustlers, a lot of people responded with humorous Tweets and ironic threats to protest the show. Obviously not meant to be taken seriously.

But it wasn’t obvious to some toadstool at the New York Times, who sided with the “protests” even though they were made as jokes, because, she babbled, Paw Patrol must (there’s that “pro-choice” crowd again, taking away your choices) join in “banishing the good-cop archetype” because, of course, there are no good cops, only bad ones. So says the New York Times. When are we going to banish the “good ‘journalist’ archetype”?

So far, Nickelodeon says it has no plans to cancel the show and has renewed it for an eighth season.

Like I said, so far.

Erasing Our Past

Now here’s a statue you can really be afraid of!

Do you like the way leftids make war on the dead? They’re puffed up with courage when they go up against statues.

Now it’s the state of General George Armstrong Custer, in Custer’s home town of Monroe, Michigan, that they want pulled down ( https://www.clickondetroit.com/news/local/2020/06/09/petition-started-to-remove-monroe-statue-of-general-custer/). Most famous for being wiped out in Custer’s Last Stand, Custer also played a dramatic part at the Battle of Gettysburg.

So libs have gotten up a petition to have the statue removed. As one of their more articulate spokes-amoebas said, “All of us feel like if this is up, then we have no justice, we have no peace at all, honestly. It feels like it’s a threat to us, honestly.” Anybody who has to say “honestly” that many times is probably not honest.

What? Are they afraid the statue’s going to climb down from its base at night and stalk the streets? Why don’t they take up a collection to put up a statue of Crazy Horse, the victor at Custer’s Last Stand? He was a heroic figure. He deserves a statue. He deserves to be celebrated.

But no. G.A.C. is gonna murder them all in their beds or something, his statue is an existential threat.

Why do we let them rob us of our history?

I think to make us like infants, easily controlled.

Never mind the social distancing! Let’s have a Mass Protest!

I hope you’ll all click the link to my Newswithviews column today–’cause we could actually witness the demise of science, as an avidly willing sacrifice on the altar of Far Left politics.

‘Science’ Disgraces Itself

(This computer, by the way, is giving me fits this morning. Do computers take LSD when we’re not looking?)

I think we have actually reached the point where a “scientist” will say anything, if it seems to be politically expedient. True or false, right or wrong, never enter into it.

Pagans, all of them.

‘Feds Rule “Don’t Tread on Me” is Racist’ (2016)

And here’s one from those unblessed days of the Obama administration, when they were laying the groundwork for this year’s riots.

Feds Rule ‘Don’t Tread on Me’ is Racist

Eight long and dreary years we had of “Everything is racist!” And every hint of opposition to anything put up by Democrats–that was racist, too.

We didn’t fight it then. And so it’s crushing us today.

‘How Firm a Foundation’

How Firm a Foundation is one of my favorite hymns; and the way it’s performed by Maddy Prior and the Carnival Band is probably very close to the way it sounded when it was first sung in the 18th century.
