When God (in Genesis 11) confounded human language and made it impossible to complete the Tower of Babel, it was seen by the human race as a punishment.

But it really was a blessing.

God’s Blessing: Nations

How ancient is the dream of global government! And imagine the mischief we’d get up to, if we ever had it. For all they do wrong, our nations are nevertheless a protection from crimes made infinitely worse by the power of government.

We can hardly be trusted with our own national governments. God knows what a world government would do to us.

Oh, that Golden Treasury of Natural History! I couldn’t get enough of it. Dinosaurs and woolly mammoths! By the time I was in third grade, they used to have me visit the other classrooms and give a little talk on dinosaurs. “Just like listening to a professor at college!” the school secretary once said.

At a very early age I already had an unquestioning belief in Evolution, whatever it was. Why not? Nobody questioned Evolution! Darwin wins, hands down. We started out as parameciums or something and wound up with Mozart. All the books said so.

But the Bible did not say so. And yet, like the rest of America, I toodled off to Sunday school or church on Sunday morning and never suspected there would be even the slightest flaw in my belief system. We were all Christians, weren’t we? (I was including Jews.) I was just a kid, but I never heard an adult question Evolution.

But I’m afraid my beliefs have evolved since then. I have lost my faith in Evolution.

In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. That’s the first sentence in the Bible. Everything follows from it. I mean, if you literally start quibbling with it from the get-go, how far are you going to get with the rest of it?

God did not leave us blueprints, recipes, or a here’s-how-you-do-it manual. He’s left us with plenty to find out on our own. We’ll have plenty to study in the sweet by and by.

Either God is the Almighty, the Creator, and the ultimate supreme Authority, or He is not. And if He is not, then who is?

I don’t like any of the answers proposed to that question. God protect us from all-devouring governments. God save us from the know-it-alls.

I still love dinosaurs. God created them. We don’t have them here among us anymore, but God has the entire universe at His disposal.

And I don’t believe in Evolution anymore. The more I study the matter, the less sense it makes. All it does, in the long run, is leave us marooned on a truly barren desert island.

 

God’s Blessing: Nations

I know I’ve said this before; but in light of President Trump’s speech to the UN earlier this week, it bears saying again.

Our various nations are a blessing to us, a gift of God; and for all the evil that they do, because they consist of fallen, sinful, human beings, they are a protection to us against something so much worse–

World government.

In Genesis 11, the earth has but one language, one government; and its rulers propose to build a tower that will reach to heaven, making them the equal of God. Sound familiar? So God confounds their language and divides them into many different nations, and they spread out over the earth. Their differences and their individual characteristics deepen over the years. By and by, they can’t re-unite to do anything together.

Thank God.

Can you even begin to imagine the mischief a global government would get up to, if it actually existed? They still wouldn’t be gods, but they’d come mighty close to being devils.

President Trump understands that–which is why the globalists so fiercely hate him. He loves his country and thinks people of other countries ought to love their own. Maybe if they loved their countries more, they’d insist on better government. And maybe even get it.

Meanwhile, with “Climate Change” as their ticket to ride, and their excuse for everything, the rule-the-world crowd is pushing its agenda like never before. Like, this is it–if we can’t get it now, we’ll never get it. So push like Hell!

And I do mean “like Hell,” because that’s where this is coming from.

Babel: God’s Wisdom and Mercy

When men a few generations removed from the Great Flood sought to build a tower that would reach to Heaven–the story is told in Genesis 11–God came down and confounded their language. Unable to communicate with each other, they gave up their building project and dispersed throughout the earth, eventually growing into various nations, each with its own language.

We are in the habit of viewing God’s actions toward the builders of Babel as a judgment and a punishment. A judgment it certainly was; but I’ve come to think of it not as a punishment, but as a mercy devised by His wisdom.

Take into account man’s inherent sinfulness, his natural bent for folly, and his high opinion of himself–and then factor in God allowing the Tower to be built and not confounding their language. I mean, really, they hadn’t learned their lesson from the Flood, and God had promised not to wipe them out again–but what if He had let them alone?

What could be more dreadful, than for God to leave us to our own devices?

Since the start of history, conquerors have tried to be masters of the world, creating bigger and bigger empires as their means for mischief grew. Today this has evolved into Globalism: all that “citizen of the world” claptrap from the 1930s is alive and well today. And doing as much harm as it possibly can.

The motive remains the same: domination of others. From Alexander the Great to the cocktail crowd at Davos is only a difference in methodology. Alexander had the Macedonian phalanx to crush nations under his feet. Globalists have Climate Change, and the “news” media.

Imagine how much easier this satanic scheme would be to carry out, had God not scattered the human race at Babel. Imagine how instantaneously culture rot could set in, anywhere in the world, if we were all of one language.

What God did at Babel was a way of protecting us from those of our race who would devour us. There is no doubt in my mind that among Satan’s fondest dreams is world government, over which he would rule as prince–probably behind the scenes: he likes it in the dark. And world government would devour us.

Alexander, Caesar, communism, Nazism, the United Nations, this foundation, that foundation–they were all about world government, and that’s what they’re all about today. That’s what “open borders” is: an attempt to undo what God did on the plain of Shinar, thousands of years ago.

A few of you keep telling me that the purpose of all the abominable lunacies of this era is to force us to declare who’s side we’re on, God’s or the devil’s.

I’m beginning to think you’re right.

Our DIY Tower of Babel

In Genesis 11, God confounded our language because the human race sought to be like gods.

Now we do it ourselves.

Kathy Areu, founder and publisher of Catalina Magazine, provides Tucker Carlson with a tutorial on how to use “Ze, Yo, Xie” and the rest of the eight new pronouns invented by dunderheads and “accepted,” as she puts it so enthusiastically, “by the LGBTQIA community” and lots and lots of colleges!

The brand-new pronouns, she prattles, are “smarter, not offensive, and totally forward-thinking!” To which she adds, “All change is good.” Oh, and this: “You can choose whichever pronoun you’re comfortable with.” Within 50 years, she predicts, all of this new stuff will have wiped out all of the old stuff and no one will remember them bad old pronouns like “he” or “she.”

Can I please wake up now? I promise to be good, if I won’t have any more dreams like this…

 

‘Should We All Speak Esperanto?’ (2012)

I admit that the fans of Esperanto who reply to this blog post aren’t half-bad at making their case for it. I tip my hat to them. And I strongly agree with their position that obscure little minority languages ought to be preserved.

But I remain convinced that the whole Esperanto project is a bad idea. We once had a common language and God took it away. We’ll have one again when He decides it’s right. Until then, I think we should oppose anything but the lordship of Jesus Christ as a basis for uniting nations.

Babbling about Babel

My wife watched a documentary on youtube yesterday, nicely produced, forcefully argued, about the building of the Tower of Babel (Genesis 11:1-9), and purporting to offer “proof” that the Bible narrative is historically accurate.

Only problem was, the documentary was all wet. They just went on and on about buildings erected by Nebuchadnezzar in Babylon thousands of years after the Tower of Babel, with apparently no awareness that they were conflating two totally unrelated stories. Not even a suspicion of it.

I would guess this film cost a lot of money to produce and involved a lot of people in the production. Did nobody know anything at all about the Bible? Did it never occur to anyone involved to at least read the relevant chapters of the Bible before launching into this festival of ignorance? Did nobody ever speak up and say, “Uh, guys, these are two different stories we’re talking about here–and they’re thousands of years apart”?

Well, you know what they say about the Internet as a source of information–sometimes it can be great, but there is no quality control.

Just to make things worse, all the comments following the film pointed out the yawning chasm of error into which it had fallen. Apparently every person who saw it knew the Bible better than the filmmakers. I think we can be thankful for that!

It just makes you wonder why anybody would ever go to the trouble of producing a documentary when they had no idea what they were talking about. Not even the feeblest effort was made to get at the facts. I don’t think the filmmakers even guessed they were dealing in sheer ignorance.

How much else of what we see is pure twaddle?

The Second Tower of Babel

Trying to prove himself God’s equal, Satan always tries to do what God does. The result is never more than a lame or perverted imitation. But God confounded human language, to stop the building of the Tower of Babel (Genesis 11), so Satan has gotta confound the language, too.

He has chosen our colleges and universities to serve him in this enterprise.

Take a gander at this snippet from The Lost City of the Monkey God by Douglas Preston.

“John Hoopes organized a talk at his university… When I asked him what the talk would cover, he explained to me the discussion would be mostly aimed at helping students ‘think about how “hot” issues such as those of colonialism, white supremacy, hypermasculinity, fantasy and imagination, and indigenous rights… intersect with the narratives that have been and are being spun about [an archeological site].” (pgs. 275-276)

If they thought the jungle growth around their site was thick, it was nothing compared to the impenetrable mass of academic drivel now growing up around it. You’re trying to learn something about an archeological study, and you have to machete your way through all that pure crapola… You’ll never be able to cut it down as fast as it grows up. Academic drivel grows like kudzu.

And in another email sent to me today, Gloria Steinem–a silly old fraud who tries to think young, but hasn’t had a new idea since 1972–blames “forced childbirth” for Global Warming. By “forced childbirth” she means, I think, simply not having an abortion. You see, abortion helps to Save The Planet.

How come everything low-down, bad, or evil is pitched to us as necessary to Save The Planet? I mean, if that were really what we had to do to save it, would it even be worth saving?

But again we see language being used to lie to us and confuse us. I’m sure you can think of as many more examples as I can.
