Okay! You’ve got a collaborative effort by Big Government and Big Media, on the subject of “potential terror threats” (https://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2021/aug/21/living-in-the-liberal-medias-twilight-zone/). Big Government and Big Media are two heads of the hydra that we know as America’s ruling class. What do you suppose those two heads came up with?

Not to keep you in suspense, here are the big-time “potential terror threats” according to the Biden Dept. of Homeland Security and CBS Nooze.

*”opposition to COVID measures” (gasp! I’m terrified already!)

*”claims of election fraud” (Ya think?)

*”belief that Donald Trump can be reinstated” (a belief we are evidently not allowed to have)

*And–get this!–“9/11 anniversary and religious holidays.”

Ooh! Celebrating Christmas! Quick, get the FBI on the phone!

How did we ever wind up getting lorded over by this crowd? Is “terrorist” going to devolve, as “racist” has, into just another meaningless label to slap onto anyone who disagrees with you in any way? Just thrown around like confetti–with government and noozies going for the blood of anyone a piece of that confetti sticks to.

Where can we get a whole new ruling class? Or should we try to get by without one?

They Were Supposed to Protect Us!

In the Declaration of Independence, our country’s founding document, Thomas Jefferson wrote, “That to secure these rights, governments are instituted among men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed…”

So we set up organizations like the Central Intelligence Agency, and the National Security Agency, to protect us from our enemies. While I was growing up, I was taught that the CIA and the NSA were there to protect us from the communists–the Soviet Union, in particular. We trusted them to protect us.

Now what do they do?

Spy on us. Tamper with our elections. They protect America from Americans. They don’t protect us from communists anymore; they’ve become the communists. They’ve evolved from protectors into predators. A former NSA and CIA director wants to deport us to Afghanistan for supporting President Trump. And some toad in the Justice Dept. wanted to force all small business operators to sign a “pledge” defending the 2020 election as fair and just and pure as the driven snow.

It’s hard to shake off the impression that we are now governed by persons who don’t particularly like us and don’t care whether they have our consent or not. They don’t strike me as the kind of governmental agencies Jefferson had in mind when he wrote the Declaration.

They ought to be working to earn our trust.

Because once it’s lost, it won’t be coming back.

This is the worst nooze day I’ve seen in a while, and it’s left me almost speechless. All I want to do is go back to work on my new book. “Want,” not “will.”

WordPress tells me we’ve just topped 77,000 comments, all told. Not bad, given the ongoing efforts of Big Tech to stifle Christian blogs.

We need each other. We need each other’s prayers, encouragement, insights–and yes, humor. A good laugh is a gift from God. Our country is being ravaged by insane public policies concocted by a nest of lunatics in Washington. We’re looking forward to chucking them out in 2022, but first we’ve got to get there. How much more hurt can they lay on us between now and then?

While we still can–the continuance of our liberties becomes increasingly problematic–let’s make some noise, shall we? We’re only a blog, but we’re still part of America’s voice and we mustn’t be drowned out.

Keep your comments coming! If nothing else, at least they’re proof we’re not alone–and that’s worth something. Worth quite a lot.

Are You ‘Anti-Science’?

Are you anti-science? Before you can answer the question, you have to find out what “anti-science” means. Some guy on YouTube explained it the other day.

Discussing–well, let’s say “denouncing”–“vaccine hesitation,” the Scientist informs us that any doubt, any criticism, any questioning of Science with a capital S automatically puts you in the “anti-science” camp. Boo. Hiss. If you don’t run out and get your shot ASAP, you are “anti-science.”

What do you get when you mix politics and science? You get politics. And that’s pretty much what our exalted Science has become. It got really rolling down the totalitarian speedway with the Global Warming hoax, which has since morphed into the Climate Change scam. And then along came King COVID–just what they were waiting for!

So you can’t ask, “Are we sure we want to mess around with messenger RNA?” You can’t ask, “What will be the long-term effects of this experimental drug, say ten years down the road?” There hasn’t been anywhere near enough time for longitudinal studies, but you can’t say that, either. It’d make you anti-science.

Remember the thalidomide scare of the late 50s-early 60s? The world rushed into that, didn’t it? Well, why not? Thalidomide was science! It turned out also to be a virtual guarantee of horrendous birth defects and had to be pulled from the world market. Happily for the United States, the FDA never approved the drug for use in our country.

Rushing into things, complicated things, just because Science says they’re good things, so shut up–what is this but folly? Is fear of COVID a good reason for trashing our economy and jettisoning our liberties?

If you don’t think so, you must be anti-science.

 

I Need a Rest

This day has just about done me in.

We got a late start to the supermarket; and because most of the main roads in our town are suddenly under construction, we had to drive all around and finally try to get onto Route 1–where the traffic was like I’d never seen it before. Patty was driving. It made her scream.

Somehow we made it to the store and back. Now it’s getting hot again. Then my sister called to tell me about an official CDC document she just read that proposed “camps and camp-like settings” for the whole population. Including letting other people live in your house while you lived somewhere else. I read the document. It made me scream.

I want to take time off–but holy cow! What other little treats have they got planned for us, that haven’t yet been leaked? I’m sure this caper from 2020 will never be implemented: but just knowing that our government is full of swabs who think like this is anything but comforting. Who else is hiding out in our bureaucracy? Jack the Ripper?

I’ve got the eye doctor tomorrow morning. Maybe I can at least post a hymn and a “best of” before I go. All I can promise is, I’ll try.

Holy Smoke! CDC Mulls COVID ‘Camps’

(I don’t want to believe this! I don’t think I’ve ever heard anything quite so crazy in my life. I just want some rest, I’ve got the eye doctor tomorrow and I don’t know how I’m going to keep my work going. But this–!   LD)

A Center for Disease Control document, last updated July 25, 2020, reveals CDC plans to quarantine Americans in their bedrooms, move others to “camps and camp-like settings”–complete with communal latrines and bathing facilities–and force people to “swap houses” until the virus crisis is over: for “at least six months” (https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/global-covid-19/shielding-approach-humanitarian.html).

And if you are ever allowed to go back home… in what condition will you find it?

I cannot imagine the Senate allowing anything like this, and God help us if they do. I doubt–I pray–that nothing like this will ever be attempted–in the words of the CDC, this would be “an ambitious approach which may prove effective…”

May? Like, it just might work?

If you think we’re ever getting our freedom back after a statist catastrophe like this, think again! “Oh, well, yeah, we know we said six months; but the germ is still around and we guess we’ll need maybe six more months. Or twelve. Honest, we have your best interests at heart.”

May the Judge of all the earth intervene to save us.

From our government! Because now we know what they have in mind for us.

The Great Measles Scare of 2019

Hey! Does anyone remember the Great Measles Scare of… 2019! That’s right–just a single year before the total COVID freak-out.

In California, UCLA and Cal State LA both required quarantine for students who couldn’t prove they’d been vaccinated for measles. One UCLA student came down with measles. One. But the state of California panicked (https://leeduigon.com/2019/04/26/the-measles-panic/)

Over in New York City, judges imposed a “mandatory” measles vaccine. Several communities refused to obey. Mayor “DeBlasio” (real name: Warren Wilhelm) threatened to close down synagogues–permanently!–unless he got his way. But nothing came of that.

Nationwide, in a population of over 300 million, there were 555 (!) cases of measles.

Because measles has long been a common childhood disease that few people had any reason to take seriously, governments largely failed to whip up a measles panic. They had to wait for King COVID to come along: then they could seize the power that they wanted. It worked because COVID is new and people were deathly afraid of it.

And that was the last we heard of the measles epidemic.

Meanwhile, we have never been told why we have to treat COVID as the most fearsome disease ever encountered, fully justifying the shut-down of whole national economies and all sorts of draconian restrictions laid upon us to fight it.

We are still waiting for that explanation. But then we aren’t quite sure where COVID came from and how it got loose, are we?

Abolishing Adulthood

Wasn’t the National Health supposed to make everybody… healthy?

Well, obviously letting people be responsible for their own well-being just isn’t working–not in Britain, at least: certainly not in Britain.

The “Conservative” (?) prime minister, Boris Johnson, wants his government to start up a kind of “social credit” system, a la Red China, in which the government would track your grocery purchases and “reward” you for “healthier” choices by handing out discounts and… oh, God… “loyalty points” (https://www.breitbart.com/europe/2021/07/26/nanny-state-boris-johnson-to-introduce-junk-food-credit-score-app/).

‘Cause if they don’t, they’ve got this obesity epidemic that somehow the National Health system has proved powerless to stop. So of course the answer has to be more government. More, more, more!

If this is what a Conservative government does, what would a left-wing British government do? Force everyone to eat Soylent Green?

Inspired by the humanist lust to play God (I initially typed that as “inspidered”: maybe should’ve left it that way), the UK government seems hell-bent on abolishing adulthood and turning Britain into a nation of perpetual toddlers.

If I close my eyes and count to three real loud, and click my heels together… will I wake up?

Yowsah, yowsah! As long as you don’t do anything to increase the “inequality” we already have in society, you can genetically modify human babies to your heart’s content–the UK government says so.

How do you “make” someone smarter, taller, handsomer, whatever, and not “add to inequality”? And where is it written that everybody has to be “equal”–and who decides what “equal” is?

One of these days our humanist governments are simply going to kill and eat us.

Door to Door… for Vaccination?

Unspecified “volunteers” will be “literally knocking on doors” to get people vaccinated for King COVID, according to the man who claims to be our president (https://www.usnews.com/news/health-news/articles/2021-07-06/biden-federal-covid-19-vaccination-effort-will-go-door-to-door-to-get-people-shots).

Who are these people who’ll be knocking on our doors? We don’t know, do we? Someone “from the government”? Criminals looking for likely houses to rob? Left-wing fanatics who’ll harass us? Assorted “volunteers” from “community groups” we never heard of?

The potential for abuse is toweringly high.

And there will be doors that you’d be well-advised to leave alone, if you knew who’d answer your knock.

Why are we treating this as the most deadly and scariest disease in history, fully justifying all kinds of draconian measures? I mean, gee, we practically shut down our economy last year! Both the government and the nooze media did their level best to scare the schiff out of us.

What is the explanation for this, and why have we never heard it?

But going door to door… this might be the worst idea they’ve had yet.
